I'm with the folks who couldn't do it because family/friends wouldn't understand. Sigh.

If I posed for a nude calendar, my family wouldn't have a real problem with it. Yes, some would be a bit shocked, but it wouldn't damage any family relationships at all. There wouldn't be any professional repercussions at my job in the sense that my boss would deny me a promotion or tell me my posing for a nude calendar was "unbecoming" or anything of that nature. I just believe my co-workers (and only some of them) would rag on me endlessly about it, and that is something I wouldn't want to deal with every day.

Having said that, if the calendar was for a worthy cause (such as supporting medical research, literacy, the arts, etc.), then I could commit to doing it. Because that's the type of motivation people can respect, even if they wouldn't do it themselves.

Interesting topic to try and revive. Not that anyone would ask me to pose for a calendar, but if they did, I would only consider it if it was being sold in another state...say...on the West coast and it was for a worthwhile cause. That way, there would be less chance of being noticed by someone I know here on the East coast.

Every year three of us (couples) produce a calendar. We, the husbands, all keen photographers, each select four pictures we've taken over the previous year of our wives. It's good fun and we try to make each edition more original than the previous one. It's a limited edition of only three, but our friends often get to see it. So, every year we share our images taken in France, Spain, St Martin and other locations. Wendy and I hang our copy in the study (den).

As for posing for a charity calendar, I'd have no problem, but it might seriously adversely affect sales!

When I was young, many manufacturers produced nude photo calendars to give away as advertising. Most garages, machine shops, and other places where men worked had naked photo calendars on their walls, often they kept previous year calendars too. Then in the 1960s feminists said that naked calendars are "sexist" and "harassment." Manufacturers had to stop producing them and men had to take them down at work. Now we get a calendar with a classic car or something boring.

The government rules our lives. Usually for the worse.
