Guys,
Lay off John Mongomery-he's a nudist like the rest of us.
Back to the topic-I too have to agree women going topless in areas not intended for it controvenes the morals in most areas. If everyone doesn't want it-then it's justified being illegal.
I don't have a problem with it at all.
I think we nudists need to look at ourselves and see what we are saying-we compromise such a small minority of people-and we are mostly men as well which does make things suspect when we ask for things like toplessness for women.

Yeah, we've had our fun. But the guy got a huge kick out of being a problem child and a lot of people needed to get out some of the resulting frustration. All he ever wanted to do was argue and everybody was sick of it. You have to admit that if he had a point, he sure was incapable of expressing it.
I'd have a hard time characterizing him (you?)as a nudist. All he could do was argue that it isn't legal. Some places it is and some places it isn't. But his underlying theme was always that he wanted more women to attend so he could see more boobs. (Can I say that?) All the other men here (and a few ladies too), have simply taken the position that women should have the right if they want it. We've all seen them regularly and don't have a particular need to see more. For nudists, seeing topless women is rather uneventful. Given that fact and his complaints that there aren't enough naked women for his taste, who's motivation is suspect?

But, JustBob, is it morals that are being offended, or merely sensibilities? And even if it is morals, morals change. It wasn't that long ago that it was illegal for men to go topfree too; now look around you! Look around the European or Brazilian beaches!
The legal and social laws regarding topfreedom are both anachronistic and oppressive. I certainly think they need to be liberalized. And those of us who remember the 1960s, or have studied that decade, know that such liberalization requires dedicated people willing to buck the trend. Fortunately there are some dedicated women--and men too--that are willing to "put their bodies in the line of fire" to highlight the laws' absurdities. More power to them!

Well, here in New Zealand, it's simply against the Human Rights Act to discriminate against women, so being topless is quite legal.

OK John/Datona/Doug whatever the bleep your name is, enough of your harassment. Now you are trying to steal my identity. As Cheri and some others can attest to, justBob is my alias over in Netnude, a place I know you are posting and have posted in.
Take your own advice. Nudists don't want you invading their cyberspace. That has been made abundantly clear! Geez, can't you get a life?

Jochahaan,
I think using the terms "archaic" and "oppressive" is a little strong to talk about toplessness. I take your point on how society has changed-and if society changes to the point that a woman revealing her breasts is socially acceptable then you would have a point. I don't see society moving in that direction however.
BobS,
Perhaps I should accuse you of stealing my indentity.
