No Topic Needed In This Thread - Topic-Free Zone
There was a good suggestion for an "off topic" topic, where the Admin won't gripe at you for ignoring the subject!
And so, drum roll please, the moment we have been waiting for has finally arrived! In this thread, and this thread only, it matters not what the subject is, nor if there was a subject in the first place. So, what's new with you?

I will not purchase or spend money on any Russian product: (Lukoil, Stolichnaya, etc) while their Army occupies parts of Georgia under flimsy excuses. Georgia is a free democracy that deserves our popular support.

balataf... You have my support on this.
I used Mobil gasoline for over 20 years until several years ago when all the Mobil stations in the Philadelphia area became Lukoil. Shortly thereafter Russia returned to it's heavy-handed ways and I stopped buying gas there. I don't know if this type of "boycott" can have a real economic impact but I feel like I'm doing my part to limit the ability of the Russian government to suppress democracy at home and in neighboring countries.

Ok, I think I have a solution. First rewind thinking to the Middle Ages. Now -- quickly -- the Ossetians give Samachablo (South Ossetia) back to the Georgians, and the Russians give Alania (North Ossetia) back to the Ossetians.
Voila! Everybody is happy! Russia proves it truly cares about Ossetian independence. The Ossetians finally have their own country in their original homeland. Georgia gets its territorial integrity back so that it can focus on the continuing conjugal feud between the ancient kingdoms of Colchis and Iberia. And we can all go back to buying gas from Lukoil -- pending our switchover to solar-electric-biofuel.

Another miscellaneous topic -- perhaps only of interest after one-too-many Stolichnayas -- I've never understood the blue-state / red-state color scheme in America politics. Aren't "commies" red? But today I heard an American journalist explaining the US election to some French school children. One kid asked about "left" and "right" in America, and the journalist explained that the measuring scale is very different, that while French President Sarkozy is considered "right" in France, he would be considered "gauchiste" (leftist) in America. So now I understand "blue states." As for "red states," my current theory is that if you are very, very, very "right" then you pop out on the other side of the color wheel. This theory helps explain my weird friend in Berkeley who once claimed he was so "left" on the American scale that he ended up just "extremist", what he called a "Goldwater Maoist."

Tues. 8:30 pm Eastern time - Chat Reminder
Our naturist/nudist chat takes place every Tuesday after 8:30 unless a moderator is available before at 8pm Eastern time. People from all over the globe join in, and we're inviting you to be part of this fun time.
Below are explicit directions. We hope you join us. 1.) Open browser (Explorer, Netscape, etc.) 2.) In Address or URL field enter: http://www.paltalk.com 3.) Screen on right middle side will have <click> button to: "Download Pal talk for FREE" 4.) If not asked for download, "Click here to Download" in the left most top center. 5.) <Click> on save and put it on your desktop, where you can find it most easily. Note: if using a dial-up modem, it will take some time but do not be alarmed; this Chat group is really worth the wait. The DSL or Cable download will be quicker. The file name is pal_install_r17704.exe a little over 5 meg * The client program part works great with dial-up lines.* 6.) Close all programs and click on the icon of the pal_install_r17704.exe on your desktop. If asked, install usual/recommended features. 7) The Paltalk program will add an icon to your desktop and/or start up folders. 8.) Connect to the internet and click on desktop icon. A mini window will popup asking for your ID or ask if you are a new user. <Click> on new user. You can use a nickname or even your real name. 9.) You will be given a confirmation ID sent to your e-mail address that is required for getting a log in. 10.) Use that confirmation ID and password to get into system. 11.) You will notice that the Pal talk window looks much like a messenger chat window much like Yahoo Messenger. 12.) In the center top of the Pal talk Messenger window is the Chat group, click on that <tab> 13.) Select the browse for all groups and another window will come up. NOTE: you will have to <click> on the Adult consent in the upper left had corner to get into the groups that we are under. 14.) From the selection on the left you can <click> on Adult & drill down to <Conversations> 15.) You can find us under: Nudist Club Gathering(no punctuation) 16.) Most times the group usually starts after 8pm. The room is open only when a Moderator is available. If you don't see the group at 8pm, click on the refresh shortly, and it will show up. After you enter the group, add as a favorite so you can find it quickly the next time you want to join the chat. 17.) Enjoy the chat. There are people joining in from around the globe.
Hugs, Cheri

Thanks for asking, Diger. His bp was slightly elevated but okay enough for them to do the procedure. Let's hope this works as well as it did for me.
It better go well since in about a month, I'll be traveling to East Carolina University to again lecture to a number of Sociology classes and would like his company. :) Cheri

Another off-topic item, but one having to do with "body acceptance"
i stumbled accross a blog on "human variation".. you can find it at www.humanvariation.blogspot.com
People are submitting rather simple front, side and back photos of their bodies...just to demonstrate that there are so many, and so varied types of human bodies. Take a look. They seem to need more female examples, so if you're interested...dig out the digital and submit your "variation" to the world.
