There may be a few here that actually know an owner and might be able to answer some of your questions but what you may get is just speculation or second hand information on this topic. I would think it's best to contact Club O directly and those with the right information will be able to answer your questions without rumor, speculation or 2nd hand knowledge.
Actually, there are Club Orient owners who occasionally visit this site. If you are interested in buying a unit there, contact sales@cluborient.com.

Isn't that what I had said!??

Pretty close, but I just wanted you and the others to know the specific email address (sales@cluborient.com) to contact.

Doc
Doc, Our first trip to St. Martin, several years ago, was at the end of October (got a good price because it was the tail end of hurricane season). The temps were quite pleasant, and I don't recall wind being an issue. Our latest trip, 2 yrs ago, was in November (Leonid meteor shower) and the weather was the same. Haven't been there in December - yet. But in a total of (hmmm lemme see) four weeks' stay, I can recall two rainstorms, neither long or hard enough to ruin a day. We usually stay at one of the nice rental homes within walking distance of Orient Beach - the missus finds the digs at Club O too spartan. Have a great time, and don't miss the great food in Grand Casse.

LOVE ORIENT BEACH! Been 4 times, have always stayed at the Esmeralda resort which is down the other end from Club-O. It has it's own nude section and we usually walk the length of the beach at least twice daily. If anyone is thinking of going - do NOT pass up the nude TikoTiko excursion to Tintamarre.

This year we Left our Cruise Ship in Phillipsburg and took a taxi to the 'other side' of the Island, the French side. WE only got to spend 2 hours at the beach and it was very nice. Be prepared to pay to use restrooms and pay $40 for 2 people to have a very mundane hambuger basket. Aside from that we understand that one end of the beach is clothing optional and you will find many nudists enjoying the hot sun and warm water. The sand is white and soft very nice. There was little surf during our brief visit. We are considering vacationing at Club Orient next spring.

Just heard thst the next bay to Orient Beach, Le Galion is now also clothes optional. Great for an early morning walk & pre breakfast dip. We'll be testing it out in late October.

On the other hand, there are reports that the local authorities are cracking down on the popular morning nude walk along the entire stretch of Orient Beach. Apparently, it's still OK in front of Club O, but people walking farther north have been stopped and told to cover up. Are any Club O regulars able to confirm or deny?

I stayed at Club Orient the second week in June. On my first morning there I took a hike up the beach just after sunrise. The local police met me on my way back and made it clear that I wasn't supposed to be nude beyond the Club Orient section of the beach.
I suggest you read my post here: http://www.nudist-resorts.org/talk/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3337

I can confirm what BareBill said in his post and amplify what I said nearly a year ago; Orient beach is undergoing change and not necessarily for the better. Two decades ago one could take an early morning nude stroll the length of the beach from Club Orient, past the Mt. Vernon, and back again without having to worry about offending any textile tourist. Not any longer.
Orient beach has undergone an almost urbanized transformation on Saint Martin/Maarten to where the once beautiful remote beach is becoming a miniaturized French version of Waikiki with hotel and commercial encroachment, the sand packed with daily cruise ship passengers wearing Hawaiian shirts and sandals intent on photographing a "real live nudist" for their friends back in Cleveland. More disturbing are reports of plans afloat to isolate and segregate Club Orient from the rest of the beach and to heavily enforce an anti-nudity law if anyone steps outside the grounds of the resort.
We met a group of people who recently visited St. Martin and they reported seeing police patrolling the area in front of the Esmeralda for any wayward nudists from Club Orient who might be inclined to think it was still 1984 (er...an Orwellian year but you get the idea.)

My first post - So happy to have found this website. I love Orient, it was the first Nude Beach that I chose to be totally in the buff in a public setting. I am not big on tan lines; sunbathe in the nude on my deck, or at the tanning salon in the winter. I live on the end of Long Island and there are not any public places to be nude on the beaches out here that I am aware of. I guess I will always have an affinity for Orient since it was my first place going nude in public. Looking forward to this summer, I discovered that friends of mine are nudists and we are planning a trip on their boat, a day of laying out nude on the ocean sounds like fun to me!!!

My wife and I got to try Orient Beach for the first time on the 14th of this month. We were on a cruise and had only a limited time there, but the sand and water were GREAT. The other tourists sharing our tour taxi went to look around (gawk), but my wife and I walked over to the famous sign, looked at the water, then each other, and stripped right there! It was just too inviting to pass up. The temps were in the mid 80's and the water temperature was just right. That evening back on the ship we agreed that we should have gone straight to the beach earlier and stayed longer. It was quite amusing listening to the comments of some of the other passengers at dinner talking about their visit to the "nudie beach". "Did you join in"? "HEAVENS NO- we were just LOOKING" etc. etc. Their loss, if they only knew what they were missing! We have decided this was NOT to be our only visit.
I'm sure I think I said what I probably meant, but maybe not.

My wife and I had our first public nude experience at Orient a few years ago, while on a cruise. Now, we it is a must stop if our ship visits there.

We were at Club Orient for two weeks in the final half of October. more or less every morning we strolled the full length of Orient Beach in the nude. This was done before breakfast arriving back about 08.00 and we had no problems at all and there were many others doing the same. We (four of us) also walked across to Galion but did don shorts / wraps as there were others there already covered up but the signs clearly stated that the bay was clothes optional. We did strip to swim and have the obligatory photos taken. Tranquil place. As for the gawkers off the ships,on Orient Bay, well I suppose some get converted whilst the majority regard it all a bit like a visit to the zoo. Thing is, who's who in the zoo?
This was our 5th time at Club Orient (Spartan?) and we've always had some torrential rain but often in the middle of the night. Lovely place and there are probably other superb places to visit in the Caribbean but we've made friends from New England so it's just great to see them there.

The Club O (clothing optional)part of Orient Beach is plenty big...you really don't lose out on much if you can't walk down where the clothed folks are.
Plus...my wife and I would rather walk where we can enjoy the view of other folks who ah natural :)

Just joined your site, about to go to Club O again, not sure how often we've gone there now.
This is the most comfortable place we've ever been. If you are like me and just want to hang out on the beach, swim, read, meet new people, swim, have some drinks, doze....LOL. Oh, and feed the fish, snorkel and go on a short nude cruise to the island offshore.
This is the only place we go where we never put our clothes on the whole trip except a (see thru) wrap if we stroll down the beach to nearby eateries. 2 ppl, 2 weeks, 2 suitcases, would be one but we bring prime steaks, fresh veggies and such with us to make a few of our own meals in the nice kitchens. If you love fish don't bother with this.
As for the cruise ship gawkers, have fun with them, we always do. Couple ideas: if you are outgoing bring a few cheap strings of Mardi Gra type necklaces, when they come, offer them prizes to take it all off - many will do it :).
If you want to turn the gawk on them I've found this works 99% of the time on the guys. Stare at them as they come toward you, turn your head in an obvious way and as they reach you they will suddenly turn to look at the island and point it out to the woman who has been clenching their hand all that time and then they will turn back.
Warning to TV addicts, there aren't any, bring your DVD player or laptop and some movies if you must watch.

Orient beach is the BEST place on the face of the earth. We have been to many c.o. places in the Caribbean but by far my vote to club O. San Sousi has a great pool but the beach is not to good. Hedo is o.k. but too many swingers to suit our taste. We love to see and be seen but not to get to envolved, if you knpw what I mean. Haulover beach is to many gays and gauckers, not very safe and when we go to the beach we want to feef safe and not have to sit on our beach bag. Have you had a simule experience?
