No Topic Needed In This Thread - Topic-Free Zone
There was a good suggestion for an "off topic" topic, where the Admin won't gripe at you for ignoring the subject!
And so, drum roll please, the moment we have been waiting for has finally arrived! In this thread, and this thread only, it matters not what the subject is, nor if there was a subject in the first place. So, what's new with you?

Thanks Admin...I usually have a comment on most topics. However, on a topic-free subject...I am at a complete loss for words. Hope everyone had a great new year celebration.

This morning I found an email in the Spam folder of my Gmail account from something called NudeClubhouse.com. It raised a couple of questions. The email was promoting "NudeClubhouse Expo 2012" in Las Vegas June 1-2, which I guess is the nudist answer to the Consumer Electronics Show. There was a list of exhibitors that included AANR, Terra Cotta Inn, Cypress Cove, and CFI among others. They are even trying to arrange clothing-optional hotel accommodations. Sound possibly legit, but ... who are these people? I am not reassured when I read on their website that NudeClubhouse, supposedly a "nudist social networking site", offers "free membership", but also has a Premium Membership, much like ripoff sites like [Spam site removed].com. Can anyone shed some light on this organization and their Expo?
Also ... I use that Gmail account mainly for NRO-related emails, and I wonder if (and how) NudeClubhouse has gotten access to NRO's email list. Has anyone else gotten this email?

Naturist Doc;
I received that email also. And had the same questions you've raised.

I got it too. And I also wonder how they got my email because I try to keep my nude activities separate from my textile activities.

I got the e-mail too. It got to wondering what kind of vendors would pay for a venue to sell nudist products. The trouble with nudism, from a marketing perspective, is that nudism is the absence of consumerism. Maybe they are selling club membership, but that's probably preaching to the choir. I would like to know how the marketing pencils out, but I'm not going to Las Vegas so I deleted the mail.

That does seem kind of dumb. Almost as dumb as the spammers that sign up here at a nudist forum to try & sell clothing (shoes). LOL!

I can't agree that nudism (social nudism, anyway) is the total absence of consumerism ... although the idea of, say, Brooks Brothers targeting us is a bit ludicrous. Many nudists travel, and spend money when they do. The exhibitors at the Expo all seem to be nudist resorts or nudist organizations. But the idea of staging a big marketing event to promote a small number of nudist venues doesn't make a great deal of sense to me. The nudist community is a relatively small one, and in the age of the Internet - and thanks to sites like this one - the information we need is readily available. Why go to Las Vegas, a city well-known for its hostility to traditional nudism/naturism, to be told stuff I already know?
And I'd still like to know how they got our email addresses.

I didn't get the email on my yahoo account that I use for this site. My bet is Google sold you out. Google is the worldwide champ on algorithms. I'm pretty sure as part of your terms of services you've submitted to that type of marketing. They have programs that read all the text in your emails (body, subject line, domain, etc..) then, Bam!!! Nudist spam!
