i like to read the nudist news which is on the toolbar of this site for the newest nude news and see several stories on police investigation relating to child pornography and photos being taken at nudist gatherings, so is this a new crackdown or have i missed something in the stories as nudist children have been printed in nudist books, magazines and even movies and is this something parents need to start worrying about. i know the government has gotten to politically correct but unless it put in sexual context there is nothing wrong with plain nudism but will parents be willing to chance it.

I guess i offended some or my post was misunderstood i certainly don't support child pornography and those that engage should be locked up. my question is do the nudist parents worry about the politic correct from coming into your home because your family our nudist and while you were at the nudist camp pictures were taken. my kids were raised as nudist back in the 90's and i don't think we ever took pictures but the nudist camp we belonged to did ( with permission ) of members and we were included one time in a nudist magazine and part of a promotional video there, we never thought or worried of repercussions but nowadays i would.

Isn't it great how our government looks after us when we don't even know we need it.

Over the years there has been a lot said/posts about kids, pictures and them being nude in them.
One never knows which bureaucrat or neighbor will start a religious jihad. So, just use common since.
Do not take any that could be viewed as sexual, develop them yourself and do not publish them.
As to being a nudist, related legal issues and kids, again it will come down to if the neighbor or bureaucrat feels their religious beliefs are above the secular laws the rest of us live by.
Personally, I run my business, live my life within the confines of the rules and just do not worry about being sued. In America you cannot stop someone from suing, so why worry about it?
If you do get sued, you can prevail provided that you stayed within the limits of the rules.

I think we are letting government get to much control on our personal lives they can come in and take control in a instances and I think nudist families need to be aware of the laws and use common sense more so now than ever before.

I agree with Sailawaybob. The government today is far beyond any rational reason for their existence. Its more police state than servant of the people. We live our lives under police state license from our birth in a state licensed facility attended by state licensed doctors and nurses to our burial in a state licensed cemetery by a state licensed undertaker. Any time a police state goon uses the excuse "for the children" they are violating the fundamental rights of people who's ancestors were once free men. The government has way too much control of our lives.

I think we only need to look in the mirror and see how we got to this state.
Having done college at the end of the Vietnam war, as a group, we tended to protest what ever we felt was not right.
Move forward, what did we do to our children?
My own kids are no exception.
To this day, they still do not really find fault with the legal drinking age being twenty one while at the same time eighteen being the legal definition of an adult.
You know, one that can now be drafted/enlist and die for the country. Not to be overlooked, vote for the man who controls the nuclear arms of our country.
I think one to many parents (suspect really the moms) went with that win win crap when it came to kids competing and learning.
On top of this, there are to many of what they call helicopter parents while the kids are in college.
When are the kids going to get out, learn, experience and make their own decisions?
On a more serious note at least for me, it came to light how far things had gotten off track while doing my annual professional continuing education during the 1990's. The degree of erosion to our basic rights came to light during an update of rules.
All loss of basic rights was done in the name of fighting money laundering and drugs.
Move to today and it is has only gotten worst. We are approaching the point where it is all but a crime to have any kind of large cash amounts on our person.

It was ever thus, from the Alien and Sedition Acts to the PATRIOT Act. In 1861 Abraham Lincoln abolished habeas corpus and had a number of his political opponents arrested. In the 1940s, Japanese-Americans were unconstitutionally locked up in what were essentially concentration camps. Next came the Red Scare, the War on Drugs, and most recently the War on Terror. Now, no one would dispute that the Confederacy, the Empire of Japan, the USSR, the drug cartels, and Al Qaeda were/are threats to the US. But it is useful for political leaders to exaggerate the internal threats. At the least, it allows one to disparage one's political opponents ("soft on Communism", "weak on crime", "coddling terrorists", etc.) At worst, it serves as a pretext to limit civil rights and access to the courts. Our best hope (albeit a slim one) is a courageous and fiercely independent judiciary.

Whenever anyone in government says, "for the children" it means he is taking away your human rights.

Some times their like Congressman Foley, sponsoring a child pornography bill to cover his own addiction to it.

Maybe I'm too close to the situation, that is living close to the area, but ever since the Penn State scandal broke it seems that everyone is looking at situations involving children with suspicion. My fear is a witch hunt of sorts as it now seems that a local AAU coach is under an indictment. Not that I condone any child abuse in any way but a statement made by a child in innocence could make life miserable for the parents.

The Witch Hunt for "child abuse" has destroyed far more lives than the medieval witch hunts ever did, and in a much shorter time period. Minding everyone else's sex lives is a serious psychosis. Government tyranny is the real evil.

This crackdown is not something new at all, child porn is a serious problem indeed. Images of innocent nudist children have been found downloaded, uploaded, sold, bought and published and who knows what else by some sick people out there, and one risks serious trouble possessing images of nude children by the law. Back in the 80's, the ASA now called the AANR stopped publishing images of children in their monthly Bulletin for this reason of being seen as porn by the law. Innocent images to some, porn to others unfortunately.

There is a wide spectrum of interpretations of photos of nude children. If the government must intervene, again and again, let it be wise enough to discern the difference between sexually exploitive photos and innocent nudist family photos. But, then I'm asking too much - for the gov't to use wisdom. When is the last time they used wisdom in anything?
Maybe if nudist signed a paper that stated it was alright for their childrn to be photographed nude. Even then, the parents would have to be members of a nudist resort and would have to have passed the Megan Law test. That should shut up the gov't.
A government that depends on the right person being in office is a lousy government. It should be that no matter who is in office, enough checks and balances would be in place to inflict reason and rationality onto situations that come to the fore. That is the advantage of organic American gov't - it is not easy to pass laws, or theoretically, a president should have a rough time conflicting with Congress.
The main flaw in that is if a complicity of corrrupt politicians abuse their powers, the whole systems crashes, as America is now.
As for nude children, they are legend, nude in so many different ways, and not from trying to get away with something, but they're nude just because they want to be.
Perhaps known nudist organizations can pow-wow with govenment and get them to know the difference between sexual exploitation and innocent parent-approved photos. Educating the gov't is the key.

I think that BY FAR, the biggest problem is that the concept of what we tend to call a child needs an upgrade ASAP.
I would never call a child, a (let's just say, 13-14 years old) teenager whose nude body looks just like he/she is 18 or has the sufficient physical/sexual features to be considered "sexy". So, I wouldn't have a problem with "adults" looking at such in a sexual way.

i'm just glad my kids are adults i remember back in the 80's our club was taking pictures for N magazine and snapped some of us and the kids with our permission but today i don't think i would allow it just because of all the idiots infringing on our lives. and yes those into wrongful abuse of kids abusing kids - lock them up throw away the keys but healthy nudism especially for the kids i see no problem. i wonder how nudist parents dealt with it back in the 40's thru the 60's.
