Much appreciated, Prof. People can certainly have different ways to communicate. I have known a person who thinks nothing of sharing anything about herself with other people, even strangers. On the other hand, some folks are ultra-private about everything, even what time of day it is (I exaggerate on that one, to make a point).
I assume that a person is private until they show me otherwise. If they are a very publicly oriented and are up-front and frank, then we can all laugh at hesitancy to bring up -- didn't I see you at XYZ nudist resort? If I assume that the person is very public and unconcerned, and I mention for all to hear that I saw them at nudist resort, and then find out that same person is very private, I would hurt them.
Probably better to risk laughter directed at me, then embarrassment of the other person.

so i guess back to the original topic, my most awkward time was when i had just showered and i did'nt know my parents had company over and i came downstairs nude as could be and they, the company saw me as i walked down the stairs... i was feeling outgoing, so i just walked right through the living room, in front of them, lol, and went out back to sunbathe. my parents were pissed, but all i could do was laugh inside and shrug it off and pretend i was sorry. lol

I wish there were more women like you Nudistgrrl. I think an attractive young lady could get by with that more easily than an oldfart like me. Cheers

Well, Nudistgrrl, you made quite an impression!! Good going - -graceful response you showed them all.
I did a similar thing like that, myself, only it was at a hospital. It was a quick procedure they did on me, and a hospital employee, a woman walked in on me when I was naked, I remained that way, while she talked with me.
She was giving me some post-op instructions. I guess she was not one to knock before entering. I made no effort to dress, nor did I look surprised, or afraid. In an unrelated topic, the year after that incident, I visited a nudist resort for the first time in my life.
Good show, Nudistgrrl, literally and figuratively speaking. Like Bill in the comment above, I could not have gotten away with that, but you did and nicely so.
Do you have your next incident all planned? Just kidding. Thanks for stopping in again!

nudistgrrl, that reminds me of a time years ago, probably 1992 when I was still in the army. There was this girl I knew, she was at her sister's place and I went over to see her. The sister didn't now I was there and walked out of her bedroom to go to the bathroom. She was naked, but just kept on going, then walked back to the bedroom the same way.

when i was 10 yoa we had just moved to south florida and were living in a single wide trailer with two bedrooms and the bath at the rear and one bedroom at the front. well one night i had finished bathing and put my towel in the hamper and went to my bedroom at the front of the trailer but when i reached the kitchen i saw the neighbors from across the street were visiting my parents in the living room, now i had no problem with my parents seeming me nude but not the neighbors but they saw me and told me to come into the living room. i kinda think they thought i had a towel on so when i walked foward they all laughed the man grabbed my arm to keep me from passing but finally let go and i know i was blushing as i left the roomas i was real shy as a kid but somehow i was ok being nude that night, kinda think i was born a nudist :)

That is a disgusting story, Bob!!! Your true defining moment, and the rest was history. You dropped your clothes and your body shame even at the tender age of 10, blushing and all. You were way ahead of me!!!
If a shy boy like you can go nude, socially, that is an inspiration for the hesitant folks out there. You proved that one can be nude in front of others and still survive.
You should have asked your parents that day to sign you up for a nudist resort membership. You could have gotten one for half-off --to have to have taken it all off.

warmskin i was still embarassed being seen by the neighbors but i had already had a experience with friends when i was eight playing in the woods so even though being seen by a adult was something new afterwards in my room i remember thinking it was ok. i think i have stated here before i use to read true detective magazines back in the 60's-70's ( yeah what happen to those mags) but i think i was enlightened reading about a boy who wanted to visit a nudist camp and had told his parents they said the wouldn't go but made arrangements for him to visit without them (yes how cool) but in the end the parents and his sister went with them, now i don't remember if the story was true but always stuck with me. after my mother found out i was a nudist back in the 80's she related that they had friends that were nudist and had invited our family several times but my mother would not go.. go figure !

What a picture you paint, Bob. You were a child progidy nudist back in your childhood. Irrepressible!!
Hard to figure out who people are deep down, I suppose. How did your mom find out? Was it a stool pidgeon? Well, at least it was all out in the open, and she was okay with it. That counts for something.
Do you still go out in the woods and and play au naturel? Just being overly curious about that.

lol, warmskin the stool pidgeon was my oldest son he was about 8 yoa both kids being raised as nudist, we were at my mothers house and she complimented him on his nice tan and asked where he got it and he replied at the nudist camp, we nearly fell out of our chairs. needless to say he freely told his mom's mother the same thing so again we nearly fell out of our chairs again. i don't think he ever told any of his teachers at least we got no notes home. as for playing in the woods no but i do hike and kayak nude sometimes. i'm trying to get my nerve up to mountain bike nude..

Hey Bob and everyone else - be careful mountain biking nude! I had a hell of a wreck a few years back while clothed and wearing a helmet. Lost a lot of skin - OUCH! Also, don't forget the helmet, loosing skin is one thing, loosing your head... OK, enough of my thread jacking rant, please continue with the previous program.

4 years ago I was in the hospital for surgery. I was nude under the hospital gown. After the surgery I needed to urinate and since I coudn't yet get out of bed I asked for a urinal container to urinate in. They brought me one and asked if I needed assistance. Even with my arm in a big cast and entirely numb from the surgery I did not want any help. I thought the nurses would give me privacy but they didn't. It ended up with 4 nurses there in the room watching me in bed, with the gown pulled up effectively nude, trying to urinate into a container using only 1 hand since my other arm was useless after surgery. i do not usually care who sees me nude but I prefer not to have an audience when going to the bathroom. I was unable to urinate with 4 lady nures looking right at me. I was having enough trouble using that container one handed and did not need an audience. Eventually they realized the problem and left the room to give me privacy but it took them long enough. It seems like there was no good reason for 4 nurses to be in my room at once at that point. 1 was there to talk to me about the surgery. Didn't the other nurses have other patients to take care of? The surgery was over. Certainly once I needed to urinate there was no good reason for all of them to stay and watch. A different questionable situation with a nurse. That same day when I was getting ready to leave the hospital to go home. The nurse helped me get dressed. That was appreciated after surgery since I now had use of only one arm though it did feel odd being dressed by a woman for the first time since I was a child. What I do question is the fact that my female cousin had arrived to take me home and the nurse did not ask me if I wanted my cousin to leave while I got dressed. My cousin did eventually ask if I wanted her to leave and I agreed. I was still drugged up from the surgery and not yet thinking clearly and had not thought of it myself. Many patients would want their family to leave before getting dressed to leave the hospital especially if they are completely nude under the gown as I was and the nurse should have asked
