Here is that classic farewell address from a world leader, who sought peace, and not war, filth, and destruction. He knew what war is, and thus loathed it, in lieu of intelligent discussions with other nations.

What a contrast with Bush, each and every worthless neoconservative who for the most part are cowards, yet send our young men and women off to die in deceitfully planned wars that have had no real purpose, except to fight for a small prima-donna state.

The president on this video steered the USA in a much more peaceful way. He sought decency in the conduct of the American goverment. He was the last president who led us away from even the vague thought of terrorism against us, and when that prima-donna country threatened to destablilize the Mideast, he stood up to them, and defeated them with threats, not bullets oro bombs. No president had the stature to do that same thing ever since.

In today's world, this man would be a refreshing change from the insanities of today's chicken and cowardly war hawks. The GOP has descended into a pit from which they may never extract themselves. Most of their candidates for presidential would-be nominees are the complete opposite of the man on this video. They have no stature to speak of, save for Ron Paul. Paul and this man are in agreement to a great degree.

The quality of this video is not all that good, but the words are clear, and so are their meaning. This man was a veritable prophet in his own time, and was probably the most substantive president the GOP has ever had in the more modern era, much as I appreciated Reagan. Watch and enjoy.

Keep in mind former president Bush while you are watching this. What a contrast in dignity, and experiential and mental differences.

Anyone advocating NOT confronting the moral question of our need to clean out AlQaeda's home base seems blind to me. Then there are such other moral points as the Taliban's policy of using battery acid to destroy the eyes of little girls who want to learn to read. Ask for yourself if these thins matter.
These sketch out the main humanitarian justifications for Afghanistan, and using the military as a force against evil, without militaistic action. Iraq is over now. Rather than belonging to the Republicans Neocon faction, Libya is Obama's project.
One should always proceed slowly and deliberately, and recognize that there is plenty of room for honest citizens to differ on policy.
But an otherwise well-meaning direction that attempts to avoid noticing so many important factors is a pathway to disaster.

I lost one of my best and closest friends in Viet Nam, and experienced having a man destroyed by a mortar round's direct hit about 50 feet from me at Plei Djereing. I was also in the 11th Atmored Cavalry Regiment. Afterwards, I remained in the National Guard for 14 years until involuntary discharge for medical problems, having spent five years as a Staff Sgt.

I know that Freedom doesn't come on the cheap. I also know that you have a 20-year lead time on major weapons advances, and need to guess at what the situation of 2036 to 2040 might need.
That is the fatal flow in Ron Paul's position that if we don't meddle with others, they won't bother us. Look how well that worked at Pearl Harbor or on 9-11.

Each voter must make their own decisions on what policies and candidates to support. My personal views are that Obama is sadly lacking in the clarity of vision needed. At this point I am not pushing for any one candidate, but did particularly like Gov. Barbour, who did so well for his state after Katrina.
As we saw with Clinton and Obama in 2007 - '08, our political parties evolve as the voters so choose.

More evidence how neoconservatives, like Bill Kristol, David Frum, Paul Wolfowitz, Eliot Abrams, Richard Perle, Dick Cheney, et al, have trashed our country, with utter contempt for our US Constitution, and the founding principles of our nation. We have four wars going on, and no Declarations of War have been declared. What lawlessness. Yet people in either of the major parties do not really care, or at least are not doing anything about it.

Here is Ron Paul and a guest panelist in Congress, describing the disgusting legacy the neocons are continuing to leave to this nation. Not Romney, McCain, Palin, Bachmann, Giuliani care about this trashing of our great American documents like our Constitution. They are for sale, and are nothing but the lapdogs of the neoconservatives, as judged by their statements and actions. What a pathetic lot when it comes to upholding our Constitution. The two speakers on this video are telling the truth, a rare event for the capital city.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rvregi7BUAU

For the "un-initiated, here is a comprehensive video about the nature of the neoconservatives. They are by their nature foreign to everything American. Facists would be an apt description for them.

Unfortunately for the GOP, the neocon thinking rides high in the saddle when it comes to the words of the 2012 likelies, except for Ron Paul. Here is a short audio clip that further shows the true nature of these mentally ill folks. Straight out of Machiavelli, they run the show as to who gets favorable treatment in the GOP.

I truly wonder if Palin, Giuliani, Romney, Bachmann, etc., really know what the underlying philosophy of their need for wars that do not affect American safety, except increase the number of terrorists who react to our crude bombing of innocent civilians. McCain's strong desire for 100 years of war was the hallmark for the demented thinking that is the product of the neocon cavemen.

The GOP has been traditionally the party against war, especially World War I and II, as well as Korea. Vietnam was a mixed party affair, but mostly fueled by LBJ, and of course the war in old Yugoslavia under Clinton.

The neocons were highly numerous in the Bush White House, and thus the warlike era of Bush and the abandonment of non-involvement with other nations' governments and their wars.

Let's take another look at these people, the neoconservatives, who are not conservative in the slightest, nor are they Americans at heart.

It's always good to shine some light on those who would be otherwise unknowable by choice. A bit like flipping over a board and seeing all the strange bugs crawling around underneath.

For every voter whose decision hinges on foreign policy, there will be twenty focused on the economy and the horrendous deficit. Even within foreign policy, other issues share the spotlite. This is not to denegrate people for being preoccupied with whatever point they are most concerned about, but the "bread and butter" question is always paramount in every nation at any time. Secondary questions only emerge when citizens are not stressed about money.

The current reform wave is oriented primarily to reducing the role of Big Government. The Tea Party is centered on a revolt of three Republican factions: Christian Right, libertarians and small business against Neocons, bib business and the the Establishment. We saw this especially with Engle in Nevada and O'Donnell in Delaware last year.

This is reflected in today's continuing Republican fascination with unpolitical people like Herman Cain and Trump. By the way, what does Cain's popularity say about the supposed "racism" in the Tea Party that never was there anyhow.

Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann, but more particulary Bachmann, say that the USA cannot exist without the people in this video. The linked video says it all, when I mention that it's hard to tell who is more insane --Palin, Bachmann, or the people in this short video. They all belong together, because their loyalty lies with this little state.

Really, Michelle, you think the USA cannot survive without the people in the following link? Oooookaaayyy. I do wonder how we got along so nicely without them for so many years. If it were another state doing this sort of thing, I would mention them, instead. So, I don't really care what state is doing this, but I do care if we Americans have to chain ourselves to any sort of imbeciles, overseas. We'd be better off chaining ourselves to the next Titanic, instead.

As an adjunct video that demonstrates the neoconservatives' arrogance and blatant disregard for the American taxpayer, here is a followup on Eisenhower's Second Farewell Address. It demonstrates either the complete corruption or the colossal stupidity of the neocons, and their unchecked lust for war.

You have to give old and late Sen. Byrd a lot of credit for exposing Rumsfeld and his moneyman at the helm of the DoD, Dov Zakheim, and the unexplained "loss" of 2.3 trillion $$$. Yep, Ike was right, the military-industrial complex is bad news all the way around. Sadly, the neocons are one of the main motivators to make that complex a centerpiece of American life, if one can call that American.

I wonder how Bachmann would comment on this.
We could use another Ike again, but I don't see one on the horizon, but Ron Paul would come in second place, next to Ike. You gotta love Ike's commanding presence, and his lack of lying, as we have seen in presidents in the past. I guess when you're an Eisenhower, you don't need to lie. That is the difference between a lot of GOP and Democrat presidential contenders and Ike.

Here is a possible re-incarnation of Mother Teresa, in a manner of speaking. I put it here in the political thread because of the political effects of her mission as of late. She is truly an angel of mercy for many people who are forced to live in often inhuman conditions.

Here is a snippet of her life. God Bless her!!

There is an interestingarticle in Real Clear Politics, analyzingmoves by NYC Mayor Koch.

http://www.tabletmag.com/news-and-politics/68674/koch-test/

The author details past relationships between various administrations of both parties and his leadership of the slowly-diminsihing pro-Israel wing of the Democrats.
Ever since McGovern, the defenders of Israel have been collecting within the Republicans, headed first by the Neocons, and now, for different reasons, by the Christian Right. Other issues, such as abortion, have reinfored this trend.
Koch's history of supporting Reagan / opposing Carter is being relived as most pro-Arab voters are trending into the far left wing of the Democrats. He has announced that he will support next year's Republican unless the Obama administration returns to a more traditional American policy. Good, clear historic details here to learn from.

Watch the big mouth, motor-mouth guy get violent with a peaceful woman. The mega-mouth hater is all about our speciall ally. I guess he thought this demure American woman was a shy Palestinian, and thus worthy of being hideously rude towards, and with this "mind"-set, then committed a violent act.

Of course, Bachmann and Palin should have been there in this room where an American woman was attacked. I would think they both would have taken the morally-challenged, predatory, caveman's side of this attack, rather than the intelligent American woman's side.

The things the GOP has to be forced to admire, and willingly do so. I'm so glad that I'm a libertarian. I don't have to defend gutter-style hatred for Americans.

In this video, this "mature" punk claims the woman is a left-wind, radical hater. Sounds like he has his own hateful statements worked out well ahead of time. His only problem is that he is sick, like a rabid wolf, and becomes unpredictably violent.

His identity was discovered, and believe it or not, he is not in line to be the next Mother Teresa. One has to be a human being first, for starters. That leaves out the bully in this video.

Seems everyone is roasting Anthony Weiner, and I'm sure he'd really rather be an Oscar Meyer weiner right about now.

I hear that he wears BabaraBoxer shorts, and his alleged shorts are a pale, pastel green. How adventurous of him. He hasn't filed any legal briefs, yet. Some are saying because he wants no investigation into this matter. I would not want an investigation into my matter either.

Then comes his non-stop defense mechanism, wherein he states that he has to get back to work on behalf of his consituents, those people who derive their fruits at the loom.

He can't very well jockey for position in this bizarre turn of events, because he is losing the war with the press. He should have been a nudist all along, for then, there would be no underwear to even discuss.

Who knows how this will turn out? Will the public forgive him? Will he no longer wear underwear under his suit? Was there a hacker? Did Weiner make up this event from whole cloth? If so, he should know better than to be a textile kind of guy.

They say, "Out of sight, out of mind." It turned out that it was in sight, to some degree, and thus, it won't leave the mind. Also is said, that a picture is worth a thousand words. In this case, make it hundreds of thousands, if not more.

Weiner has only made up a fig leaf to try to cover up this matter. He needs to tell all, report it to the law so they can make a proper investigation. In this way, Weiner can let it all hang out, despite what the press will say.

For now, I'm sure we can give Weiner a chance to intitiate a full FBI investigation of the alleged hacker. I could only hope that Weiner would do the same for us.

Two points
In Texas, they have just passed a law, copying British prqctices of the past few decades. This reform changes one very important detail in civil lawsuits.
Many. like myself, have felt that it is highly unfair that there are frivolous, even plainly stupid lawsuits in which the case, before being cleared, winds up costing an expensive lawyer's fee. This, in Britain, was replaced a generation ago, with a system in which the loser of the lawsuit has to pay for the expenses they caused with the suit. If the case has merit, the defendent winds up paying. This sounds fair, and many cases that are too weak would no longer cost the taxpayers for court time. This is under consideration in sevral other states.

/////////////////////////////

In USA Today, there is an article on putting together the start of Obama's 2012 campaign.
The title is "What comes after hope?"

There is an implication in the headline of that cover story. What comes after hope?" Being "after hope" normally means that we no lomger have any.

First, our President foisted Obamacare on us. Then, when the Senate wisely rejected "cap and trade;" he tried an end run with the EPA.

Meanwhile he sent terrible signals to productive industries by such tricks as overturning longstanding bankruptcy laws for the harmful Auto Bailout. This has been compounded with the unprecedented attack on Boeing for adding jobs in South Carolina,

Etc. Etc.

So I have conclude that "after hope", in 2012, we need "CHANGE."

The Extraordinarily Right Honorable Anthony Weiner, that pillar of rectitude in New York City, or wherever his district is, has fully exposed himself in his confessions. Maybe their will be some more "bimbo eruptions" still to come.

Perhaps the hapless Weiner could have tried out a nudist resort instead of resorting to tawdriness in Tweeting himself. By that, I hardly mean to denigrate nudist resorts at all, but I do wonder if, had he regularly visited nudist-resorts, that he might not have engaged in self-disclosure to his various women.

On the other hand, that might not have deterred him. He is brash, arrogant, ungraceful, and ungracious. Thus he seems to have been prone to do the things he did.

Thomas Jefferson said that if you do something, pretend the whole world is watching you. Weiner and Jefferson are so far apart that it would take an astro-physicist to measure the distance between them. I feel uncomfortable saying both their names in the same sentence. I cannot imagine Jefferson doing anything like exposing himself in the social media.

When Weenster cried, I really wonder if he was faking it. I truly don't think he has a sincere bone in his body. His wife might feel the same way right about now.

It was high time that he found out that he is not invulnerable, and that time has just passed. He has a chance of becoming a normal human being, without the arrogance and brashness. He needs to hang out with a different crowd.

As Ben Franklin said, "Life keeps a dear school, but fools will learn in no other." How right old Ben was.

To my thinking, Weiner wouuld not have benefited from a Nudist environment. He appears to be the type of obnoxious, immature male that we have so many postings about in these forums. I believfe he would have been leering, and put himself, not naturally, but positioned for the type of display as he did with his photos. In Congress, he behaved in a similar juvenile manner on various issues.

June 8th marks another anniversary of the infamous attack on the USA by our special "ally."

By no means is this post a personal attack on Americans who share the same ancestry of our "ally," save for alleged Admiral Jay Cristol, who wrote a book to help cover up the event. He was far more loyal to our "ally" than he was to America. The neocons, who abuse our soldiers everday in the Mideast, are in Cristol's category.

The NSA reported that they had all the conversations of the enemy before, during, and after the deliberate, intentional, and knowing attack on the USS Liberty.

It also marks the surrender of the USA to a foreign state, because of LBJ's cowardice before our nation's attackers. Robert Strange McNamara, poster boy for failure, was heavily involved in our surrender.

This did not make a big splash in the media. It was covered up by none other than Admiral John McCain, with the help of his son, now Senator John McCain, or Arizona. So, we have the little clique of LBJ, McNamara, and the two McCains.

The US navy ship was attacked by napalm, torpedos, and machine gun fire. LBJ wanted it to sink, even though those were our US sailors on board. LBJ was a sick and devious man, as was his so-called Secretary of Defense. Our speical "ally" did not miss a trick, as they shot at the USS Liberty's lifeboats - a war crime.

How can it be that our only ally in the Mideast would attack us deliberately. Two conjectures have been made by people who have expertise in this topic. One was that Israel did not want the US to detect the actions in the Golan Heights. The other stems from the fact that Isael had just committed another war crime in the mass murder of Egyptian POWs, held by our ally.

As it turned out, our ally killed 34 American sailors, and wounded about 170 more -some incapacitated sailors included.

LBJ corrupted an investigation by ordering it to come out in favor of Israel. The officers who were supposed to investigate it were chagrined over the little time they were given. The admiral "in charge" of the investigation took part in an interview where he voiced his opinion.

The despicability of LBJ went even further, as the survivors of the Israeli attack on the USA were ordered to never reveal the details of this attack. They could receive the death penalty for talking about this attack on the USA.

Further, the captain of the ship was given a Medal of Honor for his heroism in the attack. Those medals are given at the White House. Not this time. LBJ wanted nothing to do with the captain. The captain was given his medal at a shipyard, instead.

One might ask - in whose interest was LBJ acting? The USA's interest? Hardly. Why did LBJ become more loyal to a foreign power that had just attacked us?

I know what Eisenhower would have done, based on other actions he took in the Mideast. Our attackers would have been attacked themselves, to show them it does not pay to attack the USA.

BBC, and not one American network, put out a film on this. You can see it at:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3319663041501647311#

Is there anybody in America that feels terrible about what our "ally" purposely did to one of our ships? There are some who actually justify that attack on America by our "ally."

To this day, our "ally" still says the highly prolonged attack (that lasted as long as the Pearl Harbor attack)was a mistake, and accident, and a case of mistaken identity (they thought they were attacking an Egyptian ship). That was bogus and a lie.

The NSA had an airplane in the area, listening in on the Israeli radio communications. They heard a pilot radio in, from an Israeli jet fighter, that the targeted ship was American. The ground control for Israel told the pilot to attack the Liberty. The pilot, much to his credit, once again told control that the ship was American (based on the ship's American flag and ship markings). Control told him -- "you have your orders - attack the ship."

Only later did Israel say that could not see the flag of ship markings. That was a lie, based on the NSA recordings of Israeli communications. Further, Israel jammed only the American ships frequencies. How did they know the frequencies, unless they knew it was an American ship? Simple. They knew they attacked an American ship. They took a chance that LBJ was too cowardly to do anything about it.

Althought this goes back a few decades, it is an important watershed wherein the USA became a virtual lapdog for anything our "ally" wanted. One might say the Lolita syndrome was in place. Whatever Lolita wants, Lolita gets. The USA was now in a position of permanent weakness and servitude, unable to even defend itself from deadly attacks, and by choice!!

The US sailors who survived this cowardly attack on a defenseless ship, have put together a website. Remember, these are American sailors, and not foreign sailors. They should be respected for their horrible sacrifice on June 8, 1967.
