Humorous posts and discussion one and all. Just to put my two cents in, I don't have a personal avatar on here because I don't have any pictures of me naked. I have never had the opportunity to go to a nudist resort and have never even met another nudist in person in my life (and I am 31). So it goes in the bible belt with twisted ideas about the naked body (I have never understood it and I don't think I ever will). I am currently getting to the point where I might be able to visit a nudist resort this summer which would be so nice. I would love to be outside nude, but I have never had the funds to go to a resort before and haven't built that privacy fence yet. :) My daughter is actually the closest nudist I know of and she is still mostly undecided I think. I hope for both of us to go to a resort this sumemr where she can see that she wouldn't be alone but there would be other kids there as well. I think it would put her at ease somewhat to know that it is shared by so many people. I just talked to her about the idea and she is not opposed but cautious, she is nine. The resort is clothing optional, so she will get some time to acclimate if she needs, although I really don't see her going more then a hour or so and being ready to get naked once she sees that it is acceptable. :)
Born nude and wish to stay that way.

My avatar demonstrates that I shamelessly shower naked, lol! From the attitudes of some people regarding nudism, you'd think they even shower with their clothes on.

Aaaah, so thats where I've been going wrong, I thought that if I was nude all day I should get dressed to shower, this of course being in total contrast to those strange people who wear clothing all day long!!!!

Well Pete, since you brought it up (or I did) I have on occasion showered with clothes on. Sometimes when I come home from a clothed backpacking trip wearing my various polyester and nylon hiking clothes, I jump in the shower fully clothed (barefoot at least) and soap up my clothes and strip them off to rinse them one at a time. Some of these garments are best hand-washed and since I am lazy, I prefer to wash them out this way. Finally nude with my freshly-washed clothes hanging on the shower bar over me, I finish my shower and leave my clothes hanging there to dry.
I prefer Dr. Bronner's peppermint castile soap for this proceedure, since it leaves my clothes and me very clean and smelling fresh.
I suppose if I produced a video of the whole process, it would sell quite well on the internet!

I shamelessly parade around naked at a nudist resort and enjoy doing so be I hiking, swimming, showering, or whatever. Must admit that Anniebare looks much better than I. Must be her youth?

I just found this tread which I enjoyed. I posted this in Just Chatting but,I thought it would be better here.
About my avatar. I don't own a computer. I have a MSNTV box. It plugs in to my TV resulting in a 36" monitor. I surf the web from my Lazy Boy. I can use the remote or the wireless keyboard. While the system has limits (no hard drive, I CAN NOT disable the pop up blocker for example) it is very simple. I GET NO SPAM.
I'm really not a couch potato I don't even have cable.

Mine shows me in what for me is the perfect state, i.e. naked and on vacation. What it doesn't show is that when I'm physically clothed and at work, mentally I'm still naked and on vacation.

As a new member in November, took me quite a while to choose a personalized avatar with which I was comfortable and met standards/criteria of this web site. Excellent help from Administration. Digital camera most useful as many photos (all in winter) did not turn out very well. Initially I was somewhat apprehensive being mainly a private nudist. Once my avatar was in place, the fingers hit the keyboard.
Having read many of the postings before submitting my own, generally I appreciated those with a personalized photo avatar. Somehow this seems more in keeping with social nudity. Nevertheless, I can appreciate why many members wish not to do so.
Next, maybe a profile pic. Will see..........

Hi everybody. I think it's great that many of you include a picture of yourself as an avatar. It seems much more personal in this lifestyle where so many try to keep their identity private. Those who use some sort of cartoon or graphic deprive the rest of us of knowing you better.
It seems to me that the people to ask about what your avatar says about you are those who read your posts and look at your avatar. I used a clothed picture of myself because I believe that in this particular setting people would probably rather see me that way. I don't really have any objection to nude photos as avatars, but many appear to me like the subject is being a bit of an exhibitionist. I'll be the first to admit that this may be just my imagination, but I've seen professionally photographed nudes of both sexes that were quite gorgeous. (Of course those models looked a good deal better without their clothes than I do.) Photos taken where the subject seems to be unaware of the camera seem to me to better reflect the person just being themselves. If they happen to be nude it doesn't really matter. If I had such a nude photo of myself I'd probably use it as an avatar. Then it would be interesting to know what everyone else thought of it.
I'd rather be nude.

Some of us do not have the ability to create an avatar. I do NOT own a digital camera or a computer. I can receive some e-mailed photos. I use a computer at work but,no internet access.

My avatar shows me in after an hour or two of creative and unplanned body paint for a Halloween party. My wife did the painting and did not know where she was going with it until she was finished, but I thought it said a lot about me, so I am proud of it. This is one of the few places where I can share that photo with others. A painted nude body tells a story, so I get a kick out of it.
