nurserobin; It doesn't matter. Some where in another forum someone made this fat statement. I was using to try and show how being totally anonymous does give posters the ability to just run off at the mouth. Bottom line is I posted this topic to see what reaction it would get. There are pictures of me some where on this site and on other web sites. I really don't care if you or anyone else posts personal photos. I'm more interested in the reason people don't if they claim to be some sort of nudist. Being self employed I done care who knows I'm a nudist, and also think that it is no ones damn business what I do in my personal life. Lots of people know me and know I'm a nudist, I've never lost a contract because of it. If you can do the job, what difference does it make if you like to spend your leisure time in the nude. I've lived this life style for a long time, I remember what it was like to try and keep it hidden. Whether you or anyone else posts personal photos is a choice you must make. I do agree with others that it is a liberating experience, just like the first time at a resort or beach. I'll quote someone you may or may not know of- " Don't lie, you'll have less to remember"- Indian Larry. I honestly believe people don't post out of fear and/or reaction from a mate.

Being one of those fat people I certainly am not going to be running my mouth about anyone's appearance, and I do believe contributes to my not being photogenic and part of my reason for not posting a pic. It seems to me you're right about anonymity - but I also know of several people on this and other forums that bash people for being fat AND post their pics as well so it's done by all sorts... People I work with do know I go to nude beaches and just think I'm crazy - but the families of my residents wouldn't handle it too well so I have to draw a line. Not having a "mate" also keeps me out of that category, but I also know of several died in the wool nudists on these forums whose spouses don't wish to share their husbands (usually) nude with the world and that's OK too. We're all individuals with different reasons for things we do or don't do. Guess it takes all kinds...

Hello prairie_nude, apologies if my post sounded defensive. That was not my intention. Unfortunately English is only my 3rd language after Spanish and Italian, and I'm not totally comfortable with it yet, so maybe I just gave the wrong impression of feeling personally attacked - which is wrong. I'm happy that nurserobin understood my point anyway. :)
I just gave my opinion on avatars - which, in a nutshell, can be summarized in the phrase "I don't care at all". I may build one or not, for me it's the same. They're just a forum feature and nothing else. I don't see any liberating experience in it. But again, this is just MHO.
About an interesting point you mention:
quote: I was using to try and show how being totally anonymous does give posters the ability to just run off at the mouth.
Well, this is the Internet. You're absolutely right, but all of us already knew that, didn't we? Whoever got some experience surfing forums knows that the occasional anonymous moron is always there, ready to click "submit reply" and propagate his/her foolishness. What I do is just ignore those posts.
And opening a bracket, as somebody else already mentioned, photos or avatars do not imply non-anonymity. Pics can be portraiting someone else. But I'm sure that's no news as well. :)
Ciao! Juan

Mine say's it all about me. I'm still a MARINE even after being out for over 40 yrs. It's the pride the Corps instills upon all those who have made it. It also means we take pride in our country so that we may have the freedom to do as American's what we wish. Such as our choise to be nude if we like to.

What does your avatar express about yourself?
Mine is a picture I took with my best friends, I'm on the left (I'm the one all slumped over with the bad posture) then there are my two friends KC and Ally. I photoshop-ed in the title "It's me" and now I feel proud of myself for having done that all by myself.
Well I think it's a nice picture and I didn't think she looked like a "dancer at a club" she looks like she just enjoys being nude. Bescides if she was trying to sell I think she would have put a link up as well.
As for me.. I noticed it looks like I still have to upload one. Guess I had better figure that out.

My Avitar.
Well this is me relaxing at a river on a camping trip. Can't see the water or the camping gear in the pic. The footprint basicly represents the fact that I prefer to be without clothing whenever possible.(hmm ;)no spell checker on this messege... Hope everything is spelled ok, never was good at that)I landscape for a living in the spring-to-fall and wish I could do it without clothing. Love the heat! The nicname came from someone who hated me at work and he called me Guy The Lizard because I would work without my shirt and in my shorts every chance I got. So there you have it!

I am new to the site but I loaded this ativar, a photo of myself doing some exercise at home. Having read all the posts I am concerned that it might infringe the rules. If anyone thinks it is rude then I will take it down -no problem. Its not intended to be.

People are different at different time.
Take my avatar for example. This is a photo of me and the Mrs. on a weekend get away. She had a terrible week at work and wanted to visit a secluded planet void of any inhabitants but not to far from Earth.
Here I am enjoying the sun and wanting to show off my tanned green skin. As soon as the Mrs. saw me hit the camera timer she headed for the space ship.
Had she had a better week at work at work she would have been sucking down those Vodka Tonics and showing off that new nipple ring she finally got attached.
Anyway, what my old grandpa used to say, "Whatever Flies Your Ship".

Hello beachnudist, I didn't see anything wrong with your former avatar. As Cheri often posts, if the pic doesn't draw attention specifically to genitalia there's no issue from a forum-rules perspective.

The avatar issue is interesting. At another nudist web site, I estimated that even though the avatars were indistinct because of pixel limitations, less than 5% posted a photo of themselves, and as I recall, only one female posted one.
At a nudist site which requires membership before the avatars may be viewed, it surprises me greatly that more do not have nude photo avatars.

Jim, you seem to get my point. This is a nudist site. People become members and claim to be nudists. They claim they go to resorts, beaches etc.. At this site they choose to hide behind an avatar. I find it hard to believe that they can present themselfs nude at a nudist resort, camp and so on, but here they do not. Still they expect other members to believe that they live the nudist life. The statements of, my job, my spouse, or what ever reason not to post a real avatar, doesn't wash as the photo you post can be as anonymous as you wish. Those that say you can post any picture they wish, it doesn't have to be themselfs, that's true but isn't that still hiding. Your a nudist or your not.

later: this is the internet...you can make anything you want up if you care to. You just seem to be getting way too bent out of shape over an avatar of a person you don't even know.
Let it go, man, let it go.

Not at all. Reality is I don't care if you or anyone else posts an avatar. I know who I am, and what I am, can others say the same? Yes it's the internet and people can play at what ever game they wish. There are thousands and thousands of sites to go to and play out what ever fantasy you wish, how does someone playing nudist help in any way shape or form. Do you believe that some of the posts here promote nudism in a positive light, to non-nudists? All I'm saying is, there has to be a better way for nudists to talk to other nudists, with out the free for all. Maybe there has to be a closed area for people who post true avatars as this will make the discussion, hopefully, nudist to nudist. No avatar you stay out in never-ever-land.

Well, then it sounds like you don't like how this site is being run or that you think you could do it better. In that case, get the moxy and start your own site.
Personally, I think the moderators here and the site creator are doing great. There's lots of opinions, lots of views, lots of ideas. Sure, we don't all agree, but that's what makes this a wonderful resource. If you really think that people have to have an avatar to be a full member, go create your own site. Seriously. I'm not just being a wise-guy.
Yes, people can play any game they want, any way they want on the internet. But it's still just an avatar.

I find it interesting Later that you can liken going nude at a camp or resort where you are only around a fairly limited number of fellow nudists to posting a nude picture of oneself online for, literally, the rest of the world's perusal.
