Cheri; I'm not disagreeing with you or nurserobin. Maybe I look at nudity with a different additude. Again read my posts from earlier today. You, better than anyone here, can not say that you totally disagree with what I'm saying. No one who posts here has any great cause to worry about their privacy. I'm also saying as I said in the "post your questions here section", that I would expect avatar posters to be careful about said posts. Re-read the posts and you will see that we're basically on the same page, the big difference is I guess, that I'm becoming disappointed reading posts that are not to do with nudism. Or reading posts that you have to know are from someone who's decided this is a great place to be a pain. Answer this, what does lace panties have to do with nudism?

Photos of people are not important. It's the person that's important and what they say, how they act. Cheri
Exactly...that's why I have no pic and no profile...aside from the fact that I find myself extremely unphotogenic - always have, always will...my position as a nurse manager also prohibits posting too much information...

I agree, and fully understand. You know what's coming, BUT, no country, no age,no picture of your favorite lawn chair, right knee, left ear. This makes you real. Not someone who comes in here and flings posts around, and really is not part of the nudist life. Putting a little insight is all I'm saying. Posters who are just passing through will not waste the time. I realize us males are bolder with our avatars and posts, but I miss the tasteful posts by females and their avatars. You could be known as nurserobin aka the lawn chair!

Uhm... mine says nothing at all because I don't have any :)
Not that I don't want to put it on the profile, but: 1 - I'm a bit too lazy lately to even bother preparing one, 2 - I don't think an avatar could tell more about my personality than my posts. And if somebody thinks I'm a fake because of this, well, his/her problem. ;)
Personally speaking (writing?), I don't look at avatars to try and understand the person behind the posts. IMHO it's the post itself that matters, whoever writes it down. Answers shouldn't be driven by the fact the poster is male/female, young/old, beautiful/ugly and so on. Words speak for themselves, I say.
And if somebody is afraid of avataring their nude pics, whatever their reason, it's their right. Don't judge them. I certainly don't.

I don't call that an angry or aggressive response...merely a statement of fact and an invitation...no anger here

You could do what I did ... post a photo of someone you intensely dislike, thus outing him to the world as a pervert nudie weirdo.

Once again I will say, read the original post. I made some statements, gave some of my opinions, and asked questions. None of it is a personal attack on anyone. The post has done exactly what it should have, sparked debate. It does not contain include judgement statements such as, beautiful/ugly, fat, old or any other demeaning words that have no place in this or any other venue. I do find it interesting how defensive the posts are! I expected debate, I did not expect posters to act as if my post was a direct challenge to them. Further , debate, is not "I'm right, your wrong", it is an exchange of thoughts and ideas.

My avatar says that I'm a fire eater. Well, actually it's just a pic of me eating fire...but you get the idea. :)

Maybe it's just me but I read the posts here as people stating their opinions. Hicks is merely stating his opinion, I see no defensiveness there - merely his thoughts and perspectives on the topic. And I would like to add...this is not an attack - merely an opinion.

In another forum topic, a member posted the statement something to the effect of " fat has no place in nudism, and is just ugly". I've looked for the post and have not at this point found it, I'd be more then happy to give this person credit for this remark. Would you not agree that beyond being asinine, these remark are judgemental? Yes it's possible for a poster to put any kind of avatar up, and yes I beleive someone who's going to make those kinds of remarks is never going to last here or post a true image. Would you also then agree that even though you may conceal your ID from Joe Blow on the street, that those who know you, and know of your nudism, and are also involved that you would not want anyone to actually be able to credit you with those kind of statements?

The only post that comes up on a search that says anything like your quote is this one by smendes:
http://www.nudist-resorts.org/talk/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1819&whichpage=2
Is that the one you mean? If so, I'm not sure you're being completely fair in the way you are characterizing what was said, or the context of the discussion on that forum topic.
