The other week I went hiking and had to cross a creek didn't want to get my hiking shoe completely wet so I waded across needless to say it was a muddy creek, if it wasn't such a cold muddy creek I would have sat my naked butt down in it. Maybe in the spring.
Why should children have all the fun? If the soil is not polluted, there is not much to harm you. The soil is ground up particles and not sewage. Just don't eat it!!! I think it would be fun to do. I'll have to check out my area to see if they have them. Maybe near Calistoga.
Let go and have fun in the mud. Don't get "constipated" in your fun genes.

Sounds interesting. However, I don't think I would just jump in any old mud puddle. If it looked clean (no pun intended), meaning not full of some other debris, stagnant water, etc...I might be so inclined.
You need to be careful of mud. Often there are creatures large and small living in the mud. When I was in college one fraternity held a "Mud Wrestling" event for charity. They imported mud from a local pond. All the mud wrestlers got some bad disease. Be careful.
