WOW! Woke up this morning to find out I have been banned from Skinbook after being contacted to join their site last year.

The Moderator Cheri Alexander didn't like the way my avatar picture I have been using since joining the site in 2008 was cropping off the top of my cowboy hat. Said it was a headless photo??? Tried to explain it wasn't headless but she was havening none of what I was trying to explain so I reluctantly changed my photo to reply with her request.

Today I find out I can't logon as I have been banned !!! ???

Great PR / Customer Service, keep up the good work and their site is sure to keep growing...

There is one thing clear here. That is, learn the rules of any discussion boards, and stick to them. It's not a matter of who is right, but WHAT is right. The most influential nudist is subject to the same rules as the least significant person.

When you joins a bbs, you should read the rules of that forum. If you feel or think that you are being unfairly treated, there are other nudist boards. It's like going to a restaurant. If you don't like the menu, hours of service, the waitresses, or the color of the carpets, you can try another restaurant.

If you were banned, then maybe someone did you a favor, because if you were banned, would you really still want to belong to that bbs? Sometimes we get so worked up that we don't see the silver lining in the dispute. You tried a bbs, and it simply didn't agree with you, or vice-versa. A bbs of another style awaits you.

I'm not saying you shouldn't feel hurt by being banned, because, yes, it hurts to think that we could be banned anywhere. Let the marketplace work, and vote with your web browser as to which nudist bbs is for you.

This one seems to work well for me, so I endeavor, however imperfectly, to go by the house rules. If I didn't like it here, I'd be gone, using a search engine looking for another discussion board.

Just my mental wanderings, Ace, but could it be that someone could see your guitar as a possible extension of a part of your male organ. I may be reaching a bit, but the idea struck me. My mind recoiled, as it wasn't used to ideas that strike.

I'm not at all criticizing your avatar; in fact I like it, as it shows a lot of personality.
For what it's worth.

I never did care for skinbook. I was also banned from there but simply for disagreeing with an admin who had his head in the clouds.

Sad to say, bullying and patronising of forum members and network members exists on Skinbook as well. One of the perpetrators of a "bash every post that Dario puts up" has been promoted to the position of Admin and is getting away with insulting and name-calling me on the forum because I believe that nudists need to be more 'out there' with their lifestyle and take better care of their bodies and their health if they want respect with the rest of society.

I don't see eye to eye with Cheri on everything, but I don't agree with resort bashing except if it's a place you've been to and got bad service or had unpleasant experiences with the other punters and guests.

Unless nudists put their power struggles to rest, they won't have a unified and amiable movement that they like to paint themselves up as in the mainstream press. You can only fool the public once.

MichiganMan, of course you are perfectly right. I was considering how to respond and you took the words right out of my mouth.

For those interested, Jim's reason for being banned can be found here, where he made his argument against our policies through creative use of Nazi slogans and comparing the Admin to Hitler. This is why we usually leave these incidents online for future reference. Jim, you should know MichiganMan is right, anyone banned cannot be allowed to sneak in the back door and brag about it. You'd have to make your peace with the Admin of any forum before being welcomed back again. You are still welcome to follow that route, and you know how to contact me at admin@nudist-resorts.org . I need to know you'll refrain from shouting Nazi slogans at the Admin when you should be making a cool headed argument.

Melissa's only problem was that she tried to continue Cheri's battles and behavior, after Cheri received a 30 day ban for resort bashing. Cheri later ignored the ban, sneaked back in as Teva and started the resort bashing all over again. The explanation of Cheri's banning is here and here, and Melissa's incident can be found here. Because it wasn't a recurring pattern of conduct, Melissa could return if she chooses to, by the simple method of contacting the Admin and having a meeting of minds.

Those who post pornography or spam the forum are banned permanently without notice or explanation.

If you cannot log in and suspect your behavior may have caused it, but your username is unchanged, you still have the capacity to reinstate yourself here. If your username appears as "n/a" next to your old posts, your account has been deleted.

We really wouldn't want to start a threaded discussion every time someone was temporarily or permanently banned. I hope providing citations to these incidents when inquiries are made will help bring everyone up to speed.

jim, in my opinion, it would be a bit more appreciative and polite if banned members of this site would petition Admin for reinstatement instead of creating a new profile- that kind of undermines the person responsible for this site's existence. I believe that this has become an issue in the past. You did mention that you didn't understand why you were banned; a conversation with Admin via email or PM could resolve that. However, I would suggest that Admin give a short explaination whenever a member is banned as I have seen that a number of members don't understand what they did to get banned, it might serve as an educational and preventative measure for other members.

Being a two time banishee (here and at Skinbook) one would think I would understand why. I don't. I criticized ADMIN's comments and rationals for cutting off two members, Melissa and Cheri. For that I as jim19452 was cut off.

On Skinbook I entered a page or so response in rebuttal to a comment favorable to President Obama's agenda. I was cut off Skinbook and didn't receive a response to my email questioning why.

Best Wishes, Jim

Those are very good rules, Thanks for all the hard work Admin puts in to this site.

I don't see what the problem is showing ones face in these avatars. As long as its not a close up of your face you will not be able to recognize anyone. Take our picture Avatar, not even our friends would be able to tell it was us if they saw it.

My photo was taken by a professional in a "very" public place. MOST members can't or won't be that public. I don't own a digital camera and can not upload a "private" picture. SOME sites won't have me for that reason.

Here is the local rule:
  • You can use any photo you like, or none at all, to represent you.
  • Your face cannot be less prominent than your genitals or other body parts.
  • Nothing drawing attention to the genitals.
  • No erections, full or partial.
  • No photos of body parts, buttocks included.
  • No legs open towards the camera.
This has worked here at Nudist-Resorts.Org for years and makes for a clean, presentable forum.

Certain other forums seem to lean in the direction of requiring full facial shots. We've also seen those that compulsively require nude photos of each of the members. This makes no sense to us, since in our experience nudists like to control their privacy, and require an appropriately discrete environment in order to participate.

Sooner or later the other nudist forums will figure this out.

I did post a picture with my face, but turned to the side. I figured at least it was a face pic. As a matter of fact, it's the same pic I have in my profile here. Another had my face in it, but from a downward angle, but you could still somewhat see it.

I think that Cheri's logic was that if your picture shows your face, then it's more of a way of saying "this is me". if it shows everything but your face, it often sends a message that you're showing off your body. I think I would take issue with a picture like that as well.

Adam,

I have been on skinbook for sometime now and it was a much better place before all the pervs showed up. Every thing was starting to get out of hand so we all need to understand how the Adminastration on nude sites have to be a little heavy handed sometimes.

I don't think it has to be bashing... It was, however, interesting to read this thread. I had a similar experience with that site. I was excited to make connections with other naturists and was disappointed to feel unwelcome because I wanted to be conservative with my identity online in my profile photo.

Overall, it's hard to keep the creeps out and all of these nudist sites have to deal with that, so I understand her, But on the other hand it doesn't help young naturist find friends either.

On a positive note, how bout them Dodgers...

If God wanted us naked we would have been born that way.
