If you are ever on Long Island I would strongly suggest Light House Beach at Robert Moses State Park on Fire Island. The beach is very well known as a clothing optional beach, is very well marked as such so nobody is surprised, and is even patrolled by state police who will come through on their ATVs. On any given weekend (or weekday for that matter) there are hundreds of nudists on the beach, many very friendly, some qawkers (of course), but all in all one of my favorite nude beaches anywhere - mostly because of the freedom, you don't have to worry about getting nabbed by police. I've been going there for the past 8 years, played loads of beach volleyball and I particularly love taking my ocean kayak out in the waves in the buff... wonderful stuff. I'm moving to Hawaii next month and I will actually miss this beach a lot.
BTW - Hello to all!! This seems like a friendly place to hang out...

Welcome Notanlines. Great name. I've tried to get that name on other internet groups and forums. It's popular and can be hard to get.

Cheri, I've heard Sauvie Island mentioned a number of times. Where is it located?

I have only gone nude on beaches, still pretty new to naturism and im not comftable in goin to a club yet so beaches are perfect for me, i just find a nice quiet spot and relax, enjoyin' the sun and sea - the best one ive been to is Alexandria Bay in Noosa, QLD, Australia.

I also enjoy nude beaches. Have been to one official one, and several non official. The reason is that it is nice to be able to go to a public place and enjoy naturism. We need more places that it is allowed, not only beaches but on trails, etc. Anyway, looks like most of us enjoy the sun, breeze, and skinnydipping aspects that comes with the beach experience. I plan on getting to Sandy Hook this season as well.

Thanks for the welcome Randy and Kim! It's a nice day here on LI today and I took a nice walk out at Light House Beach, a few nudies out but it was still a little too cold and windy, I was dying to strip down totally but only got the pants off and had to keep the sweatshirt on - it felt great regardless! Especially after an awful winter. When I hit Hawaii I'll be a regular at Black Sand Beach outside of Hilo, another of my favorite nude beaches, and a beautiful spot to spend the day - can't wait! Nothing like the warm sun on my bum to wash away the winter doldrums... :)

notanlines, If you haven't already contacted LI Travasuns, you might want to as they have outings to the beach as a group.

Welcome, notanlines -we've been going to Lighthouse Beach for about 13yr. now & couldn't agree more. Duing winters like this one, I often think of moving to a warmer weather area, but I would also miss Lighthouse Beach if I ever did make that move. We've also been to a number of Caribbean nude beaches & really love it -Orient Beach on St. Martin & Tintamarre (a boat trip from Orient) are particularly a lot of fun.

Irishred I think that would be a perfect place to spend a good portion of the winter.

Kim, yes it would. When we visited Hawaii (years ago) it was during the winter time. It was nice to get away from the snow and cold.

Hey Notanlines, welcome to Hawaii. Are you talking about Kehena Beach just past Pahoa, or is there another close to Hilo I'm not aware of? I live on Oahu and we don't have any clubs, so the beach is the only choice. It would be nice to have options, I know we have the population base to handle a club or two as well our beaches, where you have to be a little cautious.
