Those who grew up without all that high-techie paraphernalia, will have an easier time in leaving it home.

Many resorts have restrictions (with highly variable degrees of enforcement) on cell phone and laptop use around the pools or in other public areas. I wish they all did. I go to a C/O resort to RELAX, and for the life of me, I cannot understand the necessity of constantly being "in touch". I guess I'm lucky to be so utterly insignificant that the world can go on without me for several hours at a time.

we have wireless internet at our resort, as a result many times we have to go to the beach area or other open spaces to get reception. The leaves in the summer cause a real problem as they block the signal from many of the towers we have. Most of us will be in the open ares still enjoying the sun, I personally haven't heard where this bothers anyone. How would me using a lap top stop someone else from relaxing? As far as cell phones, so what? Just don't be using a camera phone or it might end up in the lake.( Ask one of the day visitors last year)

Considering the expense of most of these C/O Resorts, I'm not too surprised that you're seeing an increase in laptop usage. I've noticed a trend among employers to have their higher-ups actually do work during their vacations, and most of them need a laptop to do so. Sure, the easiest solution is to just go find a different job that doesn't have that type of boss, but for a number of people that's just not an option. I have a feeling we're going to have more and more people with laptops, etc. at these resorts.

I like to stay in touch with things for ME. How does me checking my laptop bother anyone? I agree that someone screaming into a cellphone can be annoying, but I never heard of anyone complaining about a laptop before.

I'm in the process of figuring out exactly what kind of laptop I want. Some of the FL, GA, SC, and CA resorts and clubs have WiFi access. It's great for those who are away but still need to right reports, etc. Phones with camera capabilities are not allowed at many parks.
It's not obvious at the resorts, clubs, and parks we visit that there are an over abundance of computers visible. Teva

I know most hotels have a business center now where people can take care of business while on the road (email, print, fax etc.) Unfortunately many jobs require you to keep in touch almost 24/7.
Perhaps some resorts could offer this as an amenity to attract customers and keep the laptops away from the pool. Hey, if you just have to conduct some business, why not do it nude?

Do your own thing. If you want to be "wired to the Internet" at a resort: Go for it. Me? I totally agree with NaturistDoc above. When I'm at a resort, especially at - -, I never, even get on the web. I'll only take calls from my wife on the cell phone.
I'm there to chill, grill (in the sun) and swim. Why ANYBODY would want to "surf the web" on a laptop or "cruise e-space" on a smart phone at a resort is quite beyond me. But, to each their own.
Do your own thing ... provided that it's not bothering anybody else. Cyber-freaks, surf away. We old-time naturists will relax while you do your thing.
Happy New Year. Peace.
