Doesn't sond like you did anything wrong! I don't know that anyone would have done it any different. I am a newcomer to nudism and have yet to experience my 1st resort or beach...and can't wait. I'm trying to persuade my girlfriend to join me, once the weather warms up! Good luck to you and your freedom!

It's easier to take the plunge with same sex company (if that is what happened).
I guess / assume Oldbuzzard has a point about just walking in nude if this is a complete new issue for some folks. I know that if I did that in various situation some will freak out and others will not care after the initial shock.
No shame

Hannah, As someone has already said, it's addicting. If you enjoy going to the textile beach now, you may not want to go to a nude beach. If you do, you will be hooked and will never be able to stand another soggy swimsuit ever again. When my wife and I go to a textile beach I can look at her and tell she wants to get her suit off. LOL

I had a situation several years ago. A lady friend of mine had purchased a house with a pool and hot tub. She has having a little get together with some of her friends. She mentioned that she did not know exactly how to run the hot tub and asked if I could help. We got it running and in an hour or so she announced that it was hot enough and was ready to hot tub some. Several of us stripped down and got into the tub. After 30 minutes or so we were, or had run out of drinks so I told them that I would go get refills from the house. I just walked into the kitchen, fixed the drinks and returned to the hot tub. Only one person in the kitchen was alarmed. This person had been by the hot tub when everyone stripped down, but I guess that it was the fact that I was in the house naked that bothered her.
Later that night the person and a friend joined us in the hot tub (naked).

Hannah,
Great story, and not lame at all. I have two female friends that I go nude with all the time - it's only natural to start off with your friends.

Hey Hannah. You're lucky you had an easy first time. I'm a novice nudist too. My first time was an anticlimax of titanic proportions, I went to the nude beach in Durban S.A. on my own (my wife isn't a nudist) and it was deserted, not a soul in sight (except for the odd textile wandering around). I stayed long enough to take a souvenier photo and left, (I can't sit around doing nothing without anyone to talk to). Good luck with your nudist adventures.

Well done Hannah !!! I've been a nudist for years now and my fiancee is growing more and more comfortable with the lifestyle. Her best friend knows of our nuditiy and seems curious but her husband is to uptight so, they haven't joined us yet. Your aproach is one I've thought of while enjoying their hottub but , decided against it as we were in their home. We are getting a hot tub in our new home soon and I think I just may try your aproach. Welcome to the lifestyle and thanks for the encouraging post !!!

Well, I guess that I am still a newbie...but I have made it to my first resort. I decided one morning that the weather was nice and I didn't have to work. I drove about an hour and a half to Turtle Lake in Michigan(open 12 months). I was nervous at first, and was the only naked person there for awhile. There were some clothed men working on the hot tub. Gradually I felt more at ease and left my "security blanket" towel on one of the chairs and just roamed around. A few other men and women arrived later, and I was able to talk with them...all very nice! I loved swimming nude...exploring nude...and relaxing with others in the hot tub. I can't wait to go back, next time with a friend! It's a great place, with great people!

My first experience at a clothing optional hot springs was a bit scary for me . It was 8 years ago and though I really wanted to go when I actually arrived ( alone ) and was faced with the reality , it was nerve racking to say the least . Well I stuck it out because I wanted to and we all know once you cross the line and grow comfortable being nude there is no better feeling . It's funny how we or certainly I was taught growing up to always cover up . As kid living near the woods and creeks we would go skinny dipping and those are great memories .

Great story Hannah. You're right, sometime you just gotta go for it. The fact that you did mention you would get dressed if anyone was uncomfortable was particularly classy. It is all about the comfort level. I have been a nudist since I was 4 and tried to get a few of my friends into it over the years. The one thing I learned is you can't force anyone to do anything. They will join if they feel comfortable. That's what it's about.

Hannah:
Yours is a wonderful first-time story. Good for you for "going for it!" And, hey, you turned on your friends to it too! Great!
It's so good that you're starting out so young. You and your friends have years and years to look forward to having fun and relaxing.
When you and your friends are a little older and can actually afford to do it, check out - - in Florida (www.- -Resorts.com) and experience the bigtime. Best to do this in the summer. They DO NOT heat the main pool!
Good luck in all your endeavors. Happy New Year.

way to go. I've only had one small group experience. Most of my friends think nudism is weird. i enjoyed the first time but not sure if the others did.

Hannah: Despite what some would have you believe, you don'thave to go broke to make it to the big time. All it takes is going to a FAMILY ORIENTED RESORT and meeting some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Our pool is heated in the winter even though it is indoors. I think you will find that this is the case in most year round resorts.

Hannah,
Way to go! Being naked in front of others is re-finding yourself, and then socially actualizing that re-discovery.
I found a near-artistic sense of myself as I walked around nude at a nudist-resort for the very first time. Like a creature in the wild, I finally looked like myself, and could be seen as my natural self.
The only problem with being nude around textile people is that they are still stuck in their Queen Victorian mode of non-thinking. Unfortunately, for them, nudity will mostly means pornography, evil behavior, or something that only movie actors would do.
There is a world beyond the mundane, and it is as near your nudist resort or beach. In one sense, nudity should be the ultimate American experience, in that it requires freedom to survive. Freedom requires a free mind, but also a civil one.
It is error alone which needs the support of government. Truth can stand by itself. Thomas Jefferson
