Sure seems to be a lot of nit-picking here about avatars. I was under the impression we were nudists, and that nudity was accepted and OK. What some consider provacative, (like showing a lady's ankles in 1899), others don't think is provacative. What I'm trying to say is: Provocative, naughty, dirty, sexy, whatever, is defined in every individual's own mind and perceptions.
Th-aaat being said, I just got back from a trip to Miami and Haulover Beach where I took a self-pic which is now my avatar. What do y'all think? Does it suck? Does it make you wretch and gag? I don't think my mom could identify me in it.

I set it on my towel, used the self-timer, and ran out into the water. Had to take a few shots, (and runs back and forth), to make sure I had my eyes open and that I was in the viewfinder, etc. It would have been a lot easier if my girlfriend had been there to do it for me. It was late in the afternoon, not long after the rain finaly stopped so there was almost nobody at the beach. So not too many people were there to think I was crazy. :)

I'm suprised nobody offered to give you a hand. I've been on many beaches were people have offered to take photos for me.

There were only about 4 or 5 peeps there, including me. When the weather is nice, there are hundreds. Thousands on the weekends. Anyway, (oddly enough), I'm a bit too shy to just go up and start a conversation with someone I don't know when I'm nude and ask them to take pics of me. Not sure what they'd think. And I'm sure this one guy thought I was some kind of nut.

That's the best thing about nudist beaches... You'll find that people are way more friendlier and open than those suspecting types at textile beaches. Give it a go and have a geniune chat to one of the beach goers, I'm sure you make many great friends.

I'm gonna try it. I'm getting more comfortable with every visit. Just wish I could get my lady to come with. Eventually I'm sure she'll come. Being with that lovely girl will make me feel more comfortable, and proud. :D

May be you should try and get her onto this forum? I'm sure Melissa, Kim and Cheri could offer her a lot of advice.
Saying that, I went to a friends place the other day, I went to have a shower and was horrified to see a bikini and beach towel hanging up! I gave her a hard time about going to a textile beach... She promised next time it would be a nude beach... Looks like we have another convert! :)

Just make sure you don't push her into something she isn't 100% comfortable with. A first experience at a nude beach isn't probably the best time to take photos etc.
