My wife and I will be going to Marco Island for a weeks vacation, are there any nude beaches near the island? Thanks for the help. Seanude

It's never been legal or accepted, but I've not seen any reports that there is anything since about 2000.

with regard to marco, you can take a jet ski or boat out of caxambas pass (south end of the island) into the gulf and head east around kice island. look for one of three inlets -- one is in kice island, another kind of separates kice from cape romano, and the third is in cape romano. all three provide nice, secluded areas to sunbathe nude, and no one will bother you. just keep your ears tuned for the sound of approaching boats or jet skis. there is a jet ski tour company that brings groups out to cape romano, and if the tide is high, they will tear through those inlets sometimes and startle you (if you're not listening out for them). also, there is at least one boat tour company that will land people and let them look for shells, even though they can clearly see that you are trying to get away from people. (money talks, i suppose.) these incidents are fairly rare, though.
