We are going to Aruba in the first week of Feb. Can't wait.
I have heard that there are topless beaches, if so where? Also are there nude beaches, if so where on the island.
Thank you,
Cookie

Cookie, Page 147 of TNS's Guide says that the Sonesta Hotel in downtown Oranjestad owns a private island off the coast and opposite the airport with bar, restaurant, showers, restrooms, gym tennis and topfree beach. It continues that there is a nudsim-friendly beach at the western tip of the island a 10-min.stroll from the facilities. On the southwestern coast north of Oranjestad, a r-mile palm beach of low rish hotels is topfree-friendly. The Manchebo Beach & Bucuti hotels . It goes on to say that nudity is also accepted on the shore behind the Tierra del Sol Complex. There is more.
This book is about 8 yrs. and I'm not sure if there is anything newer out there. That's a good reason to have a TNS membership, you get updates in the quarterly magazines. I'll happily facilitate that membership for you if you'd like.

. We spent a week on Aruba couple years ago. While I didn't find any designated nude beaches, there were PLENTY of beaches secluded enough that no one was going to complain. Topless was tolerated most places - it's a bit more European flavor than, say, Florida. The island isn't very big; you could drive around it in a couple hours.
. On a side note, the coffee was excellent everywhere - I later figured out this was because the tap water was produced in distilleries left over from WW II - all the drinking water was distilled water !
. We had a fine time. Let us know how your stay went.
Happy trails,

Old Hippie:
Thanks for all the info. Really appreciate it. We were there 6 years ago, but were afraid take the suits off. We did go to Baby Beach at the end of the Island, and found a secluded spot.
I have talked to some of the people at work and in conversation brought up the idea of the Europeans being topless, and they said that basically every beach Eagle Beach and Palm Beach they don't frown on it, but if a family is in the area they ask the wife to be discreet.
Needless to say with the sun being too strong, you can't stay out too long, or you could be hurting.
Thanks again, we are looking forward to getting out of this cold and snow.

My wife and I have been traveling to Aruba for 7 years. It is true that some beaches do allow topless ladies and some of the remote beaches on the east side of island you might be able to go nude. But everything thing we have read clearly states that nudism is not allow and offensive to the locals. This is interesting in that they have a large escort service business section. Bonaire does have a nude resort that if not full will accept day guests. Bonaire is a short plane ride from Aruba.

Just arrived back from a wonderful rest and relaxation of 14 days in Aruba. My wife and I visited almost all the beaches on the island, and we found that you could be topless on most of them.
We also visited Baby Beach, and we spent our time away from the crowded section of the horseshoe and we were able to be nude 90% of the time. Make sure you wear lots of sunscreen, or you could be in trouble.
We noticed a lot of young ladies who would be on Eagle Beach or Palm Beach would be topless on the beach, but when they walked to the water, they would put their top on, and then take it off in the water.
They had no problem laying topless on the beach.
Also thongs were the in thing.
Now it is back to reality.
We do have a trip in late April to DS, and we will be looking forward to getting back in the relaxation mode.
