Thanx sailordave, but I go tent camping every weekend here at my local resort and was trying to avoid that if I could for the Florida trip. Besides if I were to go camping, I would rather camp at a nudist resort and the traffic alone between the nudist resort and Haulover Beach can be a headache. Plus staying at a hotel close by may help by not having to find a place to park.

We stayed at the Ocean Palm Wednesday 10/20 through Sunday 10/24.
It is not run down; the room was freshly painted and had new carpet (in fact, the first day the smell from the carpet was a little strong).
It is not a new property, and like any decades-old building on the shore in the tropics, the fresh paint covers some age spots.
The rooms were $80/night, $120/night for the four rooms that face the ocean and have balconies/patios. (Higher during high season, of course)
Very friendly people -- both the guests and staff.
Free parking (but don't take an Excursion)is nice -- the hotel we've stayed at previously charged $25/day + a $5 valet tip to come in or go out. Those little things mount up.
It's an easy walk to Haulover.
Efficiency kitchen and free continental breakfasts will keep costs down as well.
Frankly, I'm used to staying in some pretty nice hotels -- but we've already decided we'll return to Ocean Palm.
Thank you apiarist. I was a little unsure about that hotel from the old reports I have found. That is very reasonably priced for a beach front hotel and may try them out. I especially like the idea of having a place to cook. It can get pretty tiring when on a long trip from eating out all the time or making COLD sandwiches. Plus the short walk to the nude beach is also a big plus.

That'd be the only way for me to afford to even spend more than a day at a nudist campground.

Tonight is the night the Red Sox break the curse. We have waited for this for a long time. I wonder if we will view our team in the same way after and whether this will mean good times ahead. The team will be broken up after the Series is over--Pedro, Derek Lowe and others. I hope for a good trading season this winter and look forward to April!

Update to the photos I posted. There is an official nude beach on the island of Rhodes, Greece. I didn't know about it at the time of my visit. Did a net search and discovered there is an official nude beach, in addition to the small out of the way unofficial nude beaches. If you look at a map of the island, find the port city of Rodos when there fort walls of the church knights still stand. From that city, move south on the east side of the island. Look for a city called Faliraki. The nude beach is in that area. Some of the sailors who knew about that area told me that the night clubs and bars were very much like spring break in Florida and Mexico complete with sex games in the bar like, "first couple who gets naked and acts like they're having sex gets a free drink or T-shirt". Trouble was they said some of those couples weren't acting. Don't know if similiar activities happened on the official nude beach. Besides nude beaches, there's plenty of sights to see on this island.

Just got in the mail today the Charles Atlas exercise program. Why am I bringing this up here? I think Charles Atlas was a closet nudist. Besides having posed nude for many statues and paintings, in his program he advocated doing the exercises without clothing so you can see the muscles working. Some of his exercise demonstration photos show him wearing only a string attached to a piece of cloth containing his package. Will be starting the program tomorrow.

What a dreary day here in NJ. In the mid 50' and drizzling. Hope it clears up for the kids tomorrow.

It was a cool but nice day here in Nebraska. The wind was wild which was good because I like wind having grown up in windy flat central Kansas. I was wondering if anyone out there has experienced a club in this area. I want to go social having been domestic for some time but I don't know where to go around here. Any ideas?"

Stretch:
What a day in Boston! It was raining, cloudy, damp, cool, but there was something in the air that had not been around for 86 years. Yes, a World Championship. I was at the parade today in Boston along with my wife and 5 million other faithful of Red Sox Nation. Yes, they are nothing but a "bunch of Idiots", but they were able to pull it off! Do you believe it?
It was amazing to see the parade travel through the streets of Boston, and then have the "ducks" enter the Charles River, and travel along the shore of Boston and then back down along the shore of Cambridge. I thought the Super Bowl Parades were great, this was one to be in the history books.
After spending our time in Boston and having a great lunch at Abe & Louies my wife suggested that we venture to have her piercings to celebrate the World Series!
I was shocked that she was going to have them done, but since we will be heading off to the South after Thanksgiving, she thought it would be good time for the healing process, and she saw how well I was doing. She said that it was not as bad as she thought it was going to be, and she may venture to one or two more done!
She certainly is full of surprises!!
To the Red Sox!!
The curse has been reversed!!!!

I guess you have to live in Boston to understand how much this means to eveyone that the curse has been reversed!!
I think of my Mum, who passed away a few years ago, she would live and die for the Sox. She would root for them every game. I remember her in 67(heartbreak), and then in 75(another heartbreak), and through Buckners legs in 86, she could not belive it.
I know she was looking down and smiling over Fenway Park, and waving a Red Sox Pennent.
Thank you Red Sox, as all of us New Englanders have said, "Now we can die in Peace"!!!
