Have the members of your family given you some flack because you let it be known the you were a nudist(or were thinking of becoming one?)

Bob, I am naked in the house a lot of times, and, much to my current embarrassment, the dog has observed me that way before. I had no idea that it bothered him. Just imagine my chagrin. The last thing I would want to do is offend my little doggie. But he had not changed his behavior toward me or anything. He really left me no clues at all. (Albeit, discounting the clue he left on the carpet, as I was unable to interpret it). I don't know how on this particular occasion my wife discovered the dog was offended, but if she says it is so, it must be true. It couldn't possibly be some hangup she is unable to deal with. Nah!

My wife sleeps with panties on, and apparently it doesn't offend the dog to sleep under the covers between her otherwise bare legs. She knows where he draws the line. Dangit, I just don't! Apparently, an ounce or two of fabric (or lack thereof) says volumes about one's morality and character to a dog. Yes, these moral outrages and sensitivities are the very kinds of things they ponder while they are absentmindedly sniffing one another's tail ends and licking their own penises.

All dogs are nudists.

Never met a dog that wore clothes or cared to wear clothes or cared if I wore clothes. This wife is projecting HER textile compulsion onto the dog. Sheeesh! Its got nothing to do with the dog. I am sad that the poor animal was locked up in the laundry room (ironic choice) for her clothing perversion.

It took me years to get nerve up to open up to others and my own family that I enjoyed being nude. Some took it ok, some well, and some didnt want to even hear it. I was pleased to hear at least from a select few that they admit to walking nude in their own home if alone.

When it comes to my family, I have to wear a flak vest at all times.

As usual the pets are telling us all something! They love us unconditionally and don't like being away from us at anytime, naked or not. I wish we humans were more like that and could just enjoy the person naked or not

? There isn't really anything that can explain that point of view, that I know of. That's just plain rediculous. Animals don't know or care whether we're clothed or not.

I was laying in bed nude with my wife today.
She was clothed, as usual. The dog jumped up on the bed. My wife immediately said I was going to traumatize the poor animal with my nudity so she took him and locked him up in the laundry room. I didn't really accept her point of view, however the dog has been neutered and may therefore feel a certain sense of inadequacy. What else would explain such a ridiculous viewpoint?

I was working in the barn today when my son came home. He proceeded to help me with the project, him clothed, me nude. He started exchanging texts with his GF and informed me that she wanted to come by the house due to some conflict with her parents (she's 21). He remarked that she was so anxious to come over, she didn't even mind that I was nude. I simply listened and expressed appreciation that she would be so accepting.
When she arrived, she went well out of her way to keep from looking my direction, knowing I was 'naked'. She obviously had no intention of witnessing my state of undress.
I find that interesting, knowing her background and witnessing many attempts, over the years, to express her independence. She still encourages my son to wear a fox tail occasionally, though I am not sure of the significance.
It seems odd to me that having a tail can be entirely acceptable, but having a (visible) penis is quite the opposite.

I sat down with my MIL to openly discuss why I was a nudist and where I was coming from before I allowed my nudity to be seen by her. So she wasnt in the state of confusion or shock when she did see me nude. It took some time being she is a textile but she got to where minimal encounters nude were ok with her.

I'm not a big fan of nude/dressed interaction in a home setting. Which is why even when my MIL invited us to stay nude in her presence, I never really did. I didn't run and hide when walking from the bathroom to the bedroom, for example; but I didn't just sit with her nude on the couch and watch TV like my wife did.

To me it's different when you're a backyard nudist, with pool and hottub; and you want Mom or whoever to want to be able to enjoy the amenities without the pressure of undressing or your inconvenience of putting on a bathing suit. Had I had such amenities, I certainly wouldn't cover up if I was nude in the backyard and she'd come out to enjoy the pool or hottub. At one point we'd talked about going to a resort; on the condition she could stay dressed. Again I would have certainly gone nude regardless of what she'd be wearing on that occasion.

I used to MIL as an example, but that pretty much applies to any friend or relative. It really just depends on the friend/relative and the situation.

My interactions with textiles are really very cautious. A few friends and work colleagues have been told but I would never appear in front of them. On a clothing optional beach where most of those around are strangers I am totally at ease being nude with textile around. The situation has never arisen where friends/family came with us or came up on use nude so I don't how I would react. The point about CO beaches is that most who use them tend to be nudists or textile partners of nudists so a group just wouldn't go there unless one or more them intended to go nude may be for their first time.

Hypothetically if I was to walk nude into a room when other friends/family were present dressed the reaction would be one of total embarrassment. Being unexpectedly caught out in the buff is different from deliberately setting out to expose yourself.

I have not found this to be true - personally. My textile friends are still friends; and they all know I'm a nudist. Some have even struggled a little bit with the fact that my daughter participated in social nudity with me. I think it all depends on how you frame and present it. I had a friend who used to seriously creep people out by just volunteering information about her nudist way of life: in mid-conversation, she might interject something about being "completely nekkid" just 20 mns ago and her skin itching from having to wear clothes. My best friend's sister-in-law went through a nudist phase where guests come over, and she would toss off her bathrobe before declaring herself a nudist and that she hoped everyone was ok with it. She eventually had very few visitors - they all thought she had turned into a weird exhibitionist. The point she was trying to make was lost.

You have to be a bit of a psychologist when dealing with textiles. It's not that most textiles are anti-nudists; it's just they don't know where you're coming from when you just "lay it on them."

Car----I have found the truth really is if they are not into it themselves they will slowly pull away from being a friend to you. I found this to be in my case where so called freinds were supportive of it in general etc and over time they pull away from being your freind. So for me I believe less and less the simple statement of "To each their own" that is a non nudist way of saying they think your sick etc. The only real freinds a nudist has are other nudists!
