Posted - 03/13/2006 : 1:37:34 PM Would you or wouldn't you post an avatar using a personal picture? Why or why not? Do you feel that a personal picture post adds anything and what is it you feel it adds? I have pictures posted on different sites. I'm interested how others feel about this subject. I have stated my opinion in another area on this forum. I'm just looking for the opinion of other members. |

Posted - 07/20/2006 : 12:41:50 PM I don't have a problem being seen naked, thats why I'm a nudist, but I like my fun 'Zoot' avatar, it took a lot of begging to get it from Stephen Crawley, and I use it on several fora, its going to stay, so there!
Anyway, you can't be so desperate as to want to see a photo of me in the nude!!!!!!

Even a prude has to be nude ........sometime!! |

Don't remember exactly how to post an avatar. Use a image processor such as irfan (iview) that can be downloaded from www.pcworld.com to reduce pixel size then upload when in your Profile. As I recall with my miniscule brain, jpeg formatted photo, perhaps reduced to 640 x 480 pixels or smaller and click on upload, or something.
Be careful, the thought control police are out there.
Best Wishes, Jim
I checked into it, go to Members Menu, My Profile, and under avatar 'Choose Avatar' and upload a pixel size no greater that 100 x 100. I cannot upload to a Photo Album, I've emailed twice about the problem but I've not received a response.

Posted - 07/19/2006 : 10:21:54 PM My wife didn't mind that I posted our picture as an avatar.
Of course you could stare at the picture all day long and not know who we are if we bumped into you on the street. |

Posted - 03/28/2006 : 10:51:56 PM I think a nudist should be comfortable showing a "personal" avatar of themself in many cases, but I also understand that this forum is a lot more "public" than a nudist facility in which everyone you meet is also a nudist. I am sure there are those who come here to "see nekkid" people..and if you have a professional position it could be embarrassing for someone to show it around the office. My Avatar is from a "safe" distance...hopefully.

I guess what I'm saying is, I don't let remarks like these influence my enjoyment of the nudist life. Anyone and everyone can not do things in life, because ______________ fill in the blank. Whether you choose to post an avatar is a personal decision, but it should be based on your own reasons. Basing it on remarks like this is an excuse not to do it. It's not a personal reason. I find it confusing when people give me excuses, not reasons and feelings they have. And yes my thought process did wander off to Jim. I hate the fact so many women are standing in the shadows. They let things like this get the better of them.
From Jim, I wrote: I think that fundamental survival strategy makes women more cautious than men. Women bear children, men don’t. There are substantial differences in the area of the brain involved in decision making, men are more narrow minded, also less important in genetic survival. Being a narrow minded male, I await Sue and Sheree posting nude avatars!
A reply was: Here's a perfect example of why women don't post nude avatars.
From Jim, I thought me encouraging and humorous.
From a critic: Jim 19452 is assuming Sue, I or any other female is going to post a nude avatar. Wishful thinking. Not the most refined post. I do not see the same type of comments in the other males posts. We females have a right to enjoy the nude life style as much as any male, without harassment. I have not, and I will not let, what I see as a minority detract from my enjoyment and nor should you. To you Jim 19452, show a little class. If all your here for is to show off your nude body and look at females in the nude, there's other sites for you.
Sharee - First you state that my comment is somewhat confusing then you end by telling Jim to show a little class and that perhaps this isn't the site for him which is exactly why I made my comment - so now I'm confused. My statement was towards him the same as yours - not to the respectful males that post...but the fact that anybody visits this forum, not just respectful nudist males, is also my point about why women don't post nude

From Jim: Thank you. Your statement of “so many women are standing in the shadows” is beyond my ability. God Bless You All. :

Another opinion on this matter. HUH?????
Personally... I wasn't able to post one... due to the site or my ignorance of the proceedure. I don't have a problem(?) showing my body, it's not all that about that. Technical difficcaties and putter literacy get in some of our ways.
So because I have this aviater is due to cercumstances and choices I make not because of any of you. Period......

Posted - 03/24/2006 : 9:01:41 PM You know, you can choose any type of image you'd like to represent you, and it doesn't have to be your photo. Just don't use someone else's photo!
Upload a sunset, your favorite pet picture, a rose, etc.
Even with your email function turned on, your email address is invisible until you reply.
If you do choose to use a facial photo for your avatar, just let us know if you get any unwanted sexual solicitations, and we'll take care of it. There are only well behaved people here, ladies. |
