What nudist resorts have you visited where your experience has been totally awesome? So-so? Ew?

What resorts would you recommend, or not recommend?

Just a lil info on myself... I am a single woman planning on staying at a nudist resort for the first time over this coming summer with a guy friend of mine. So, a safe, relaxed, non-sexual atmosphere is a must! An adults only resort would be a plus... But any comments on any resort, even family ones, where your experiences have been especially enjoyable are welcomed!

This thread is a bit old, but not yet on Social Security due to age.

I've recently been to the Sequoians recently, and have enjoyed myself quite a bit. I had some nice pot luck dinners and have met some really nice people. The swimming pool is smaller than that of other resorts, but it's the people who make the difference.

Having group-minded people there,I believe more than makes up for the smaller pool. They have a rec room with a kitchen, which I love. Hard to make a hot meal without a stove and pots and pans. I help myself to them, and later wash them and put them back where they belong.

The more I go there, of course, the more friends I find I can make. It's hard to remember all their names, but I try. Never been a strong suit for me.

Due to IRS rulings, you can only go there 3 times without joining. It's a non-profit group, and the IRS says that 3 times it the maximum you be a guest. Not sure of the logic behind that. I've been to non-profit colleges and never had to "join" them. That said, I will definitely consider joining them perhaps next spring, if not sooner. They have winter activities.

I love hiking nude in the hills around the immediate area, although some trails go off the resort and you have to covered beyond certain points.

For Bay Area folks, or cities beyond, it's great little place. No, I'm not a paid advertiser for them; just a guy who is sensitive about the atmosphere at a nudist resort.

Just to chime in for Bay Area sites - I also like Lupin, also Bonny Doon beach (not a resort though). The downside with Lupin is that their pool is a bit small for real swimming (but ok for just splashing around), and it's NOT heated year-round contrary to what they say in their ads. They seem to spend much of the fees on weekend events. The Sequoians' pool is even smaller, and the place is a bit out of the way unless you're coming from the East Bay. People are friendly and welcoming in both places.

Luckily, despite the concerns about CA park rangers, Boony Doon is still the family-friendly C/O beach it has been for decades. Why don't they make it official?

Gotta say Hidden Beach in Mexico. Although it's an expensive trip, it's the best for food, atmosphere, and people that we've ever experienced.

haven't been in awhile but Lake Como in Florida is my favorite, i wish my parents would have been nudist in the 60's and I could have been raised there. Beautiful paradise..

Just enjoyed an incredible stay at - - Resort in Tampa (Land O Lakes); awesome staff and service; fabulous services; and a really great mix of guests and residents.

nothing feels better than the warm sun on 100% of the body!

Because I'm the least opinionated person here, I'll give you the unvarnished truth.

I like the Sequioans the best, and Lupin Lodge second best. There is another larger one further away, but I stopped going there. The former two seem to have the most friendly folks.

To save the newbies having to look those up (I'm that kind of guy!), these resorts are located in the Bay Area, deceptively close to a highly populous area.

I just have become so used to being nude among people who prefer to be clothed that I like to know that I wont feel odd if I walk into the resorts library that the lady who is working in there doesnt give me any odd looks for being nude. I miss my visits to cypress cove but this was when I was new to nudism about 17 years ago. For a teenager it can be scary going to nude resort on your own.

It's kind of interesting sometimes to find out "why" someone picks a specific resort as their favorite. Some people prefer more amenities, some prefer less kids, etc... A friend of mine's favorite resort was Serendipity, because of the large number of families there, and the organized activites they scheduled, making you feel like you were "part of the family", so to speak. So he was definitely more into the "relating" social aspect of nude recreation. One lady named Cypress Cove; mostly due to their size and C/O policy. She liked the fact that she could keep something on, be nude for a little while off the beaten path, and then put something back on again. So I guess she was more into her own personal comfort and being able to disrobe or dress on her own terms.

For me, nudism is all about the "escape from textilism", and Cedar Creek SC was the resort where I found this the most. Right off the bat, when we pulled into the parking lot and looked around us, we realized that most of the people leaving out of their cars and heading to the grounds were already nude. Which is fairly atypical. Even my "usually apprehensive" wife opted to follow suit and leave her sarong in the bag. When we arrived at the front office, another surprise: we were greeted by a nude lady! It turned out the owners/managers pretty much ran things themselves, and they usually did it nude. After that, it was a game of volley-ball with a Dad and his twin boys, some socializing between my wife and some other mothers, a little hike by the creek, and my daughter making a new friend. Very rarely have I seen a completely textile-free resort. On that day at least, Cedar Creek was completely textile-free.

Hi renobiker,

I have only been to a couple myself and they were close by to where I am in Maryland, so I am no expert. Both were great and made me feel comfortable. Wish I could go to either one of them to get to know more of the people there. Both times were at open houses to check the places out. MAHESO is the closest to me (about 15 min) and the other was Avalon (about 3.5 hrs). Hoping to check out Pine Tree this year. That one is only about an hour away.

Take care...Rob

I have only been to one so it is hard to say if it is truly my favorite but for now it is...cypress cove in kissimmee,fl. Other than it being a nude resort what got me hooked was the amenities and staff. I began nudism there and the staff clothed or nude never made me feel at odds. I remember going into the pool/bar area and the bartender girl, I say girl as she looked very young found out she was like 20. She was clothed per staff rules I was nude and she never made me feel odd about it.

Benalnatura is a nice nudist beach in southern Spain. Club Orient is nice as well as
Hawksbill Beach in Antigua where you can swim and snorkle nude

Living Waters Spa in Desert Hot Springs is also G-rated, adults only.

Well, my wife and I were reading reviews of Avalon. They were very positive. However, we got to one that loved the place but was uncomfortable with the fact that children were there when they were. That killed Avalon for my wife because she feels the same and wants adults only.
I am a bit disappointed as Avalon is only about 3 hours from here and sounds like a great place. Oh well!
Can anyone give us the names of G rated adult facilities?
Tom

The only ones that comes to mind is Terra Cotta Inn in Palm Springs, California and Nature's Hideaway in Oklahoma near Tulsa
(http://www.natures-hideaway.com/). Both are AANR affiliated.

Most nudist parks are family-friendly.

I was at Avalon a few months ago and loved everything especially the indoor pool as there is little shade around the outdoor one. The food in the restaurant was good as was the lunches from the snack bar at the pool. Staff/management was amiable.

Why wait till weather warms up. They are a year 'round facility.
