Posted - 05/06/2004 : 4:47:33 PM Hello there. Did anyone go to Little Beach in Maui? My husband and I loved it esspecially the drum circle, and everyone was dancing and having a great time. I had a blast a couple of times out towels got soaked because the waves came up quick luckily we were able to save our stuff just in time. Also does anyone go to Glen Eden? That place I have been going to for two years, and it is awesome! This weekend they are going to have a singo-de-mio party so we are going there for the weekend. It is in Corona, hopefully with the wildfires going on it will not affect anything. Oh to all of the moms out there, happy mothers day!

Posted - 10/29/2011 : 4:09:51 PM We just returned from Maui, and as a matter of course made the trek to Little Beach. I am happy to report that the beach is in very good condition with plenty of sand and room for at least a couple hundred people. There were 75 or so there on Thursday, our longest stay. It was the usual demographic mix one finds at a nude beach, perhaps a little younger than average due to the moderate scramble over the hill needed to reach the beach, which might deter some of the oldsters. Roughly 60% nude, 15% topless, and 25% textile. A member of Friends of Little Beach was collecting trash - not that there was much to collect; the beach was very clean - and according to this fellow, the scene there is much as it's been for years. Anti-nudity enforcement has been relatively lax recently. The only recent major raid he could recall was to cool off a party that had gotten a little out of hand. Nudity wasn't the issue; there had been some alcohol-fueled fights.
Little Beach is pretty close to perfect if you were designing a C/O beach. It's easy to get to, yet isolated enough so that nobody goes there 'by accident'. The adjacent Big Beach (Oneloa) is wonderful, so there's no reason for the textiles to complain - they've got plenty of room. The view of Molokini, Kaho'olawe, Lanai, and West Maui is spectacular. The waves were starting to get a little rough, but were manageable. As winter arrives, the waves will get bigger and the beach will almost certainly erode somewhat, as it does every year. But right now it's in fine shape. |

Posted - 01/05/2005 : 10:22:24 PM The Las Vegas Bares are planning a trip to Maui this February. When we were there last year, most of the beach was washed away. Does anyone know what the condition of the beach is currently? Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Posted - 07/19/2004 : 11:09:10 PM Oahu SURPRISE!!! After I wrote the previous post my wife and I went to Polo Beach on Oahu North Shore on 7/18. She had her bottoms on and topless is legal in Hawaii. Guess who went to jail last night... not her... I'll let you know how it turns out so you'll know the "real story" if you get caught nude in Hawaii. More to come... if they let me use a computer in there...

Posted - 07/18/2004 : 2:57:32 PM Late Sunday afternoon and early evening is when the great music and dancing happens and is a very cool experience. If you have been to Little Beach, but missed the Sunday jam session, you still have a great experience in front of you. If you've watched or participated, then you surely have great memories of it. Be forewarned to either leave before dark or pack a good light because the trip over the rock divide can be very hazardous to the unwary after dark.
Update on Oahu - Of the seven people arrested on Polo Beach, North Shore of Oahu, early this year, three paid their $50 fines while the other four challenged. The judge threw the cases out. While it's still illegal, we have seen no signs of authority for the past few months since the ruling, and we continue to go on a regular basis. Those were the first arrests since the 1998 case which was also thrown out of court. Be aware of your surroundings. Worst case, you may have to spend $50 for the day at the beach (if you get caught) or you can spend $60 for a 15 minute glider ride or $75 for sky-diving. We prefer the beach.

Posted - 06/08/2004 : 10:18:40 PM Beachbummer, thanks for the update on the legality of the Maui nude beaches. I have heard something similar to what you said, and your info confirmed that. I didn't try to go nude when I visited Oahu last year, because of legal issues (Didn't want to get hassled by the cops while I was on business trips).

Kim, from what I heard the Little Beach is an accepted nude beach but doesn't have legal standing. Can anyone confirm if what I heard is true (or untrue) ? And I also heard that some local people have been trying to shut it down in the last couple of years. I just hope it will stay on as a nude beach. It's just too bad the island paradise with great sand and sun does not have any government-sanctioned nude beaches.

Bernie: Officially, nudity is against the law on Maui. However, the authorities leave those on Little Beach (and Red Sands Beach) alone. I just returned and never once saw anyone in authority, unless they were not wearing clothes and I didn't know they were cops. :-) From what I understand, prior arrests (from years ago) tested the verbiage of the law, and it has enough flaws that they can't convict, so they no longer bother to arrest. |

Geln Eden is a great place. I would love to live there Maybe when I win the lotto, or have a Very good stay at home job or short commute to LA :)
I was there last year for Mem Day, it was Packed, luckily my son and I got there on thursday so we got an OK camp site. By Saturday it was wall to wall tents and RVs, with a bunh of RVs in Dry Camp.
It was great, my son had a blast, they had Arts and Crafts for the kids, and I Loved the covered pool :)

Posted - 05/11/2004 : 02:51:27 AM Bernie Maui is beautiful enough excuse to go, if Little Beach is left alone, would make it all the better!

Posted - 05/11/2004 : 02:44:19 AM That would be nice, especially the island paradise is perfect for nudist activities. But as long as they leave the Little Beach as it is now, we will have to find an excuse to go to Maui !

Posted - 05/10/2004 : 03:20:02 AM Sounds like a great place OakPark. The last time we were in Hawaii, a nudist was almost as bad as developer. Glad to hear there are some places where nusism is legal and accepted, would make the trip to Hawaii that much more enjoyable.

Posted - 05/09/2004 : 11:04:42 AM We stopped by twice on our last trip to Maui. The cotton-tails and cotton-tops seemed to be married manlanders going for their first nude experience. Little Beach had families to AARP, but the cotton-people kept to themselves, were usually a couple, not in their 20's. She kept sunglasses on and he stayed on his tummy! lol At least initially. People watching at such a place is great. No bugs either! |
