I have always heard that people that lived in the mountains got cabin fever in the winter. Spring time is my favourite time of the year too, I guess because I have been cooped up so long during the winter. One thing I do is have lots of house plants and flowers in the house, helps add some cheer to a dreary rainy winters day.

The hotel was also a brewery, good beer too... One stay I stayed across the court from where the beer was made, another time above.

I am soooooo ready for Spring! I'm in the process of redecorating my own space, since I share an apartment with 3 other people. The landlord painted all the rooms either a creamy yellow or a dead blech beige. *My* room's beige However, I've added bright white lace curtains and uncovered chestnut woodwork under the old white paint...so far. I'm also re-framing and matting some large art prints and a couple of my own paintings to brighten the walls.Next step is some kitty-friendly houseplants and my space will be almost perfect!
I also have switched all the lightbulbs in here to GE "Reveal" bulbs...they're full spectrum and are pretty close to daylight...they run about $3.99 apiece at Walmart. They've helped alot.
I can hardly wait to be able to open the windows again tho....

It'll be pretty warm here in Philly for the next two days, so I'm going on my first trip to a nude beach (Gunnison Beach/ Sandy Hook)! That should help to get rid of the winter blahs, right? Here's hoping, as I've been in blah-land for way too long. Wish me luck!

Melissa

melissa, have fun.

even if it isnt true beach weather, the sight of the ocean and the waves and the bratty seagulls tend to lift the spirits, especially if it is a sunny day.

kim, more rain. so how many sunny days do you actually have in vancouver?

Melissa, I'm sure the sun along with the beach & water will help dispel the blahs.

Melissa, you may want to consider bringing sweatpants and sweatshirt with you onto the beach just in case. Being a former frequent visitor to Gunnison (before I moved away) the temperatures can feel about 15 degrees colder there, especially this time of the year with the seabreeze blowing onshore off that frigid cold ocean water.
