There is one! Cap d'agde in France. During summer they get over 40,000 people there. They have permanent houses, resorts, hotels and campsites. Not to mention supermarkets and a shopping mall. They even have a number of bars and nightclubs. Best of all, its all nude.

I'm hoping to spend two weeks there next northern summer, the place is absolutely unbelieveable!

Cheers,
Spontanudity

It sounds like a wonderful place Spontanudity, do people retire and live there, or is it just a resort?

I looked it up, its been dubbed "The Naked City". Very cool, I was reading that it has what they call, the nude side and the prude side. There is also mention of divided beaches, a family side and swinger side where people are free to do ANYTHING on the beach.

This sounds great (the nude family side)! We need a Nudetopia in the US too.

Kim,

Yes people live there but it gets very cold during winter so there isn't exactly nudity all year round. There are a lot University students and travellers who spend summer holidays working at the various shops and bars around the "city".

Bare,

There is kind of a rude and prude side. But its essentially two towns separated by a canal. There are no swingers beaches there (that I saw anyway), but they do have very well police patrolled beaches and they have the right to arrest anybody indulging sexual activity.

Saying that, the whole place really changes at night, when all the swingers go out to the bars and clubs. Its a really strange place very family oriented during the day and very wild at night... I guess its just so French!

Cheers,
Spontanudity

Sweetie, there aint no such thing as normal. Look around. All shapes and sizes, colors, heights, weights, likes and dislikes. Humans are all different. In other species, you can't tell one from the other. That's what makes us special. You look fine. Like yourself first, so will many others. :D

Now that makes more sense. The website I was looking at made it sound like it the city was divided in to nude and non-nude with the nude side divided into family and swinger.

Spontanudity,

You are so right. Love yourself first is better.

One of my personal philosophies is that "Not everyone has to like me, but I have to like me. Some will like me for who I am, some won't-can't win 'em all."

From a friend who lives in France:

Unfortunately, the problems with Cap d'Agde are not a mere gossip, and are true. This has been shown on a french national television recently.

This place has attracted many X-rated commerces: sex-clubs for swingers, sex-shops etc, all targeted to a very diverse public: ranging from swingers to sado-mazo. One needs to know that Cap d'Agde, a naturist quarter of a small city on the Mediterranean coast, is managed by the city counsel, and, in my opinion, they profit from any commerce there.

Of course, the kids are not permitted to these clubs, but they can easily see their ads! At night, many strangely clothed people gather outside and inside.

But during the day, there are many real naturists, including the fine beach. The entire place is patrolled by local police, and I am not aware of the crime rate.

So, if you go with a family, you may avoid seeing all the strange fauna in Cap d'Agde, by staying in public places during the day, and going to your apartment during the night. There are many people who enjoy the place.

I would say there are 10 to 20% of non-naturists there.

In my opinion, there are better naturist places in France. Cap d'Agde is not recongnized as an official naturist entity by the Federation of French Naturism (FFN).

Uh-oh. Way off topic.

We have a great place to share info about The Naked City in "Cap d'Agde naturist resort ("Naked City") - France"

Getting back to what Melissa asked- "Do you take nude photos? Is it porn?"

Nude pictures which document naturist activities are most assuredly not porn. In my book, photos need to have some aspect intended to arouse sexual excitement before they become porn.

My nude photo has been in N magazine as part of a group shot at a Gathering and I was in some of Spencer Tunick's photo shoots in the early days when his crowds were much smaller.

I have generally avoided taking nude photos, because of their potential for misuse. However, I am becoming more relaxed about this, especially because I have some good friends who are photography buffs. And, as I grow older and more sappy/sentimental, I like having photos to remind me of my friends and of various experiences I have had.

That said, I have to admit some suspicion regarding the creation and consumption of nude photos and video when it's in large quantities and of everyday activities. Let's be real, most people wouldn't watch an hourlong video of a strange 14-year-old's birthday party, let alone buy one. Thus, I am suspicious of the motivations of those who buy and sell such videos of nude parties.

My wife and I have several pics of each other, Some are what I call art work, the others, well, just leave it at that. We have shared our art work with only our closest friends, the rest are for us only. Maybe in time we may share them with all of you, Art one's only.
