Recently I was contacted by a young man who was aware that I was a nudist and was interested in learning more about nudism and possibly becoming involved in nude recreation. We have been exchanging messages on the Internet and I've tried to recall all of the things that one should know in order to be fully prepared in our little world. It occurred to me that this might be a good topic for discussion on this forum.
If you were asked to write a "Handbook For Novice Nudists", or "Nudism for Dummies", what advice would give? What information would you provide? What rules would you include? What pitfalls would you identify for the unsuspecting neophyte?

I'm not sure I'd bother. AANR and TNS have always had publications aimed at potential first-timers, as well as FAQ pages on their websites. The truth is out there.

Even though all the info is online, I think the idea of a "Nudism For Dummies" is great. It might expose a lot of people to nudism who would otherwise never give it a chance. If I was currently unemployed, I'd give it a go...

I'd say the first thing you need to be aware of, is that you are comfortable enough with your own nude body. You will be nude among those that are both strangers, and maybe, a few surprise friends or two. If you're at ease with being nude among others, you've taken a very important step in proclaiming being a nudist.

For a moment I thought the "Dummies" series had gotten around to putting out a book on nudism. Sigh. Well, someone might make some money writing a book that would be published by the "Dummies" folks.
I should not have mentioned that. Somebody will be me to the punch.
Really, though, it would be great if nice, simple book were published, after it is written, of course.
