Last weekend, the first Naturist Fair was held in The Netherlands. During its 3 days there were nearly 8500 visitors, which corresponded roughly with the organisers’ expectations. Both before and after the event many newspapers had articles on naturism and Dutch radio and television were also present at the fair.
There were two types of exhibitors: those who are naturists themselves and who represent the naturist way of life (campings, clubs, naturist organisations, etc.) and those who believe naturists form a target group for their enterprise (wellness products, whirlpools, camping outfit, etc.). There were also artists who showed their work and gave workshops. People could be photographed naked, have a massage or have their bodies painted, and many visitors did so.
The public was varied: there were middle-aged couples, young families and adolescents (there is quite a big national society of young naturists in The Netherlands). A substantial number of handicapped persons found their way to the fair to be informed on special naturist holidays for the disabled.
My husband and I were very happy with the amount of visitors we could welcome in our stand (there is a picture of it on www.natuactiv.eu) and our colleagues were also enthusiastic about the public’s attention. If you want to get an impression of the fair, do take a look at these videos:

The organisers have already announced next year’s naturist fair: 10, 11 and 12 December 2010, Utrecht, the Netherlands!
