is there a changing room? (gang/private) just wondering for people i am going with. they are not totally into it yet but wondering if they can change while there into a suit and when they feel comfortable on the sand to uncloth themselves. This may sound confusing.

A "Changing room" at a nudist beach is counter-intuitive. What logical purpose would a changinjg room serve? If a club is renting a health club pool/gym, the answer is of course, for lockup of valuables. But in my Phi Nu experience, the sex ratios were the same in both sides, as groups o families and friends headed together into either one.

Gunnison has restrooms before you get to the beach. You can change in there. One of the annoying features of Gunnison is you can not shower nude. The showers are in the public area by the snackbar and canbe seen from the road. I bring something to wear back from the beach just for the shower(a thong the last time). I rinse the sand/salt off then, go into the restroom to remove the wet suit and put on my shorts for the drive back. Some folks change from their "street chothes" into "beach clothes" also. Almost everyone who goes to Gunnison is wearing shorts, sandles and often a t-shirt. It takes about 2 seconds to undress, underwear, socks etc. just catch the sand anyway.

FYI- alway leave valuables in your car. If it has a trunk, that is the best place. Bring water, sunscreen, towel, leave your credit cards, house keys (most of your clothes,LOL) in the car. I have an extra car key I give to the repair shop folks. Just the car keys on a ring. These I take to the beach. The other set I leave in the trunk, with my wallet, etc.

A changing room would be for people wearing formal or casual clothing, to change into swimwear. If you don't plan on wearing swimwear, you'd have to be nude at some point.
Unless one is a compulsive striptease and uses a changing room to prevent the public from seeing it, there is no reason to use a changing room. Not saying anyone here is a compulsive stripper, but you're going to be seen in the nude, so just undress in the parking lot, or at a place you find at the beach, whichever is the most appropriate. If you simply remove your clothing, no one in your area will pay you any attention, because they did the same thing you just did. You can always joke about it with your textile friends, thus keeping it light-hearted. Maybe one or more of them will join you in being nude, once you take the lead.
If it were a textile beach, yes, then stripping in public might draw attention. Hehehe
Just relax, strip down, and enjoy where you are. Your textile friends will have to do all the adjusting, and not you.

I'm not sure why admin started this thread. bofsb is asking about Gunnison where he is bringing his gf and 1-2 of her female friends. Gunnison is a public beach, run by the National Park Service. Some of us drive 200 miles to get there. There is a half mile walk from the parking lot to the beach. Between the 2 is a restroom/changing room in the public (NOT NUDE) area. Anyone undressing in the Gunnison parking lot will face a $300 ticket in FEDERAL COURT!!!! The Rangers have guns and badges and they don't play. Yes at least 1 member of this forum learned the hard way (not me).

A changing room for nudist is like Air-conditioning for Eskimos.

Nope, I didn't start this thread, just clarified the title. Did I miss something? I didn't see where the opening poster mentioned Gunnison either.
Actually, it is a valid question. To give a personal example, years ago my wife dropped me off at Haulover for the afternoon while she went to a job interview in the area. When she caught up to me, we had to deal with the dilemma of getting her undressed. You see, she was wearing multiple layers of business clothing, including a business suit with all the accessories. She hadn't thought to wear a bathing suit under her clothes. Since at the time Haulover provided only the restroom next to the service road, and you couldn't be seen nude there or in the parking lot, this presented a problem on a rather busy day. We were surrounded by numerous other beachgoers just a few feet away. She wasn't about to provide a strip tease standing up while removing layer after layer of clothing, so her best option was to lay as low as possible on our blanket and make her undressing as uninteresting as she could. It took a while trying to do it that way! Consider it a lesson learned.
It's a bit different scenario from the original poster's, but in this case an approved changing room would have made it much easier.

This reminds me of a story I read on another board about two ladies at La Boutique (the general store) at Club Orient. They were looking at sundresses. Both were nude. The one gal picks out a dress; goes into the changing room, and comes out with the dress on to show her friend. She returns to the room, removes the dress and reappears nude to either purchase or place it back on the rack.

What problem?

The fact that she (and you) saw it as a strip tease explains everything.

She chose the way guaranteed to attract the most attention. She must have stood out like a sore thumb.

VLM34, your compulsive "dissection" (your word) of multiple posts in a most unfriendly manner only destroys the camaraderie of this forum.
We hold camaraderie above merciless accuracy.
In another thread you're working up you referred, almost gleefully, to "getting their goat". "Gee whiz, Gee Willy, I must have got your goat. I said nothing about me being turned on by teacups..."
Look-- If you wanted to bring someone around to your point of view, you'd use tact and courtesy. If you wanted to reduce them to a small lump of matter on the floor, you'd use the techniques you demonstrate. This "explains everything".
Friendly discussion with respect builds camaraderie. Merciless dissection of each and every opinion contrary to yours is only anti-social and trollish behavior. You know I cannot allow that here.

The last post above appears to be waaaaaaaaay off topic, in that it contains nothing pertaining to the topic of the thread and doesn't respond substantively to any opinion expressed in the thread. IMO, it should be deleted, and either moved into another topic heading or taken offline.
I mean, that would appear to be the standard policy here.
