I had to get the hep shots, also due to work, a few years ago. I was a paramedic and firefighter at the time. I don't recall them hurting any more than any other type of shot.

Don't they give you the Hepatitis shot based on your weight? We had to take the Hepatitis shots when we went to Central America. That was a long time ago and they have probably changed. I seem to remember it as being a thick solution and taking a while to administer.

I've had shots for hep as well as some other exotic diseases, should be no problem after the shot.

Gamma globulin that is sometimes given as an additive/shot to someone because of hepatitis exposure is given based on weight. GG shots help to build general immunity.

Thanks for your help... Still, I can't believe people get needles stuck in to them for fun... I think I'll be avoiding the piercings and tatoos.
