The Halloween party in conjunction with The Augusta Naturists at Sunair was another grand event. There were pumpkins to carve, lots of snacks to enjoy before a dinner that included eggplant parmasean, tossed salad, wheat rolls, a baked rice dish, and brownies. We even gave Ms. Evelyn a pumpkin as a souvenir. Members of both clubs played pool as well as ping pong & even used some of the fitness equipment available. A photo of the costume winner has been posted in the CherisTravelites on Yahoo and has been submitted to the Bulletin. Only actual members of the club can view photos there. This event was also a memorial to John Blume, who passed away in an auto accident on Monday. He will definitely be missed by all who knew him. Another Travelites member ordered a hitch cover for his vehicle. They are as well as front license plates available at $18 each. They have only the club logo. It took only 6 hours for Allen and me to drive the one hour back to our home. My car overheated, and we limped the distance. Two troopers and two passenger cars stopped to offer assistance over the course of the evening. It's thought that either we've a blown headgasket or that there's a circulatory problem. The mystery will hopefully be solved by some time tomorrow (Monday). It was definitely a nightmare on I-20. UPCOMING: Nov. 1 - Deadline for RSVPing for the Free Times gala. Nov. 10 - Thanksgiving party w/The Augusta Naturists at Sunair. TAN will be supplying the turkey. I'll be supplying sweet potato casserole, broccoli, cranberry sauce. We still need mashed potatoes, desserts, salad, and bread/butter. Nov. 17 - Lobster Bash & Oyster Roast at Larry's. Please send your checks to Travelites in the amounts of either $30 each for a 2 lb. lobster and/or $8 for oysters. Your check is your receipt. Please give us as much time as possible so that we can order adequate amount of the seafood. I will also be making pasta Alfredo for those who do not like seafood. Dec. 8 - Winter Holiday party Hugs, Cheri

Glad you got home,... eventually, and that you had a good time, I just wish I could have been there but my commuting time would have been a lot more than 6 hours!

Cheri:
Glad you made it home!!
There is nothing worse than breaking down on the highway, and you are at someone's mercy!!!
I hope it is not a head gasket, because you will be looking at major money.
Wish we lived closer, I am sure we would enjoyed ourselves at the get together.
