Haven't been in awhile but Lake Como is Eden, a beautiful club and when I was there very relaxed and family oriented. It reminded me of those old nudist (40-60's) photos of what I would like nudism to be. I grew up in south Florida and I wish my parents would have been nudist and that would have been where I was raised. I visited - - ( someone gave us free ticket) it was a concrete jungle, I wouldn't want to go back. Don't know nothing about - - but what i've read. Like I say Como would be my choice.

Cheri, as noted above, is right: Visit Lake Como. Why? Because, at Lake Como, you get to experience "Naturism" they way it was meant to be.

Cheri and Lance are certainly entitled to their opinions about how "naturism was meant to be" but, IMO, neither has the right to claim that their personal opinion is anything more than a personal opinion.

IMO, posters should use "IMO" more often.

For anyone who might not be familiar with IMO, it's the abbreviation for "In My Opinion."

Are you blind or so bloody PC. Cheri says, "Its my preference". Bloody initials...come on, wake up.

Como, Island, Paradise, GCR, Naturist paradise, etc are all very differant. try em out.

Live love and have fun

Such anger is most unbecoming. Moreover, Cheri said quite a bit more than you indicate.

Good advice, IMO.

Yes, I should have said, "... in my opinion!"

Hereinafter, you may assume that any of my comments are "... in my opinion."

"IMO" is unnecessary. When a speaker or writer makes a statement it is always assumed to be their opinion unless otherwise referenced or attributed to another source.

If I say "Vanilla is the best ice cream", it is presumed to be my opinion.

If I say "Vanilla is the best ice cream according to Baskin-Robbins sales data", this is a statement of fact, not opinion.

Somewhat similar to the common misuse of the word "irregardless" which is a redundant and substandard use of the word "regardless".

Best regards,

STM

Not if the speaker is an authority.

Yes. However, when your first grade teacher said "2 + 2 = 4" it was not understood to be an expression of opinion, but a fact from a recognised authority.

quote:
If I say "Vanilla is the best ice cream according to Baskin-Robbins sales data", this is a statement of fact, not opinion.

It's only an ALLEGED fact until/unless you produce the sales report.

There's one other problem with that last statement. It implies that the best flavor is the most popular flavor. That's a logical fallacy, the Latin name of which I've long forgotten.

Another way of putting the same idea is to say that the criteria for "best" was left undefined. Best selling? Best tasting? Best profit producing? Best vomit producing?

To be a FALLACY-FREE alleged fact, the statement would need to have read something like, "Vanilla is the best SELLING ice cream according to Baskin-Robbins sales data."

As for Cheri, she had (with Bossman's help) positioned herself as an authority on nudism/naturism. She thus had an obligation to distinguish her highly fallible personal opinions from her statements of (alleged) fact. She didn't always do that.

That's IMO, of course.

You're ever so angry again!

If you don't like what I write, don't read it.

I agree with go n nude - I would choose the resort based on criteria we prefer, just as I choose textile resorts. Specifically, my wife and I opt for the one with the nicest facilities, best customer service, most amenities, activities, & entertainment, gender balanced, and if possible one with guests with similar age ranges to our own.

But, like go n nude I think that question is to broad. One needs to list what they are looking for then ask which resorts are more likely to offer those requirements.

By your criteria listed here, you'd really groove to - -. It is, in fact, my personal preference ... for the qualities you list here. Go to - -, then, and get happy!

Peace.

Been there several times Lance, trying to find a way to fit Memorial weekend into the schedule. I hear that's one the best weekend's of the year there!

Thanks for the info. This helped me decide on Lake Como. I am only going to be in the Tampa area for a few days in June, and it sounds excellent. I have been told I need to get to Cypress Cove, but I don't have time this trip. Thanks again!
