My wife and I are planning on taking a trip to Club Orient in late October/ early November. We are hoping someone here can answer our questions.

What age range should we expect?

How busy is the beach during this time of year?

Is there a time of year that is less busy?

Any tips/tricks we should know about the resort?

Any other recommendations as to where to go or what to see on the island?

Thanks,
Kanga

Kanga...

One of the best suggestions I can make is to go to the TTOL site---www.traveltalkonline.com and register there. Go to the St. Martin forum and you will get more Club O advice than you will ever need...

Age 3-80, median about 50

Moderately. Hurrican season is over, but the Xmas rush has not begun.

May/June is less busy, and hurricane season is very slow. Some of the restaurants close in August.

Relax, have a great time.

Again, try the TTOL site and good luck!

We're going (finally!) to Club O this October - 10/8-16 to be precise - and would like some opinions from past visitors. Specifically, what sort of accommodation would you recommend? What I've gotten so far tends to fall into one of two categories. (1) You won't spend any time in the room anyway, so go for something less expensive like a Studio. People in the Studio section are more friendly and sociable. OR (2) Spend the extra money for a Chalet on the beach. They're a lot bigger, closer to the beach, and more private. Both points of view are appealing, and I'm having trouble making up my mind. What say the Club O veterans?

Well, I haven't stayed there but I have been there a couple of times. From what I saw the socializing took place around the bar which is closer to the beach than any rooms of any type. It's a very wide beach with some residents walking slowly by which one has to ignore, I'm afraid. And be sure to go to the little shopping section and see the nearly nude girl who runs the Adam and Eve shop. And you can take her pic if you ask.

When we went in Oct 2007, we stayed in the waterfront chalet (#53 to be exact). It was a nice room, but a lot more expensive. If I were to go there again, I would definitely go for a less expensive room. The waterfront is more private, but we barely (ha!) spent anytime in the room except to sleep or get ready to go somewhere else.

Even if you stay in a room that is far from the beach, the walk is still enjoyable. The roads are basically paved with sand, so you can stay barefoot wherever you go. Considering that in normal society you can't walk anywhere nude, finally having the freedom to do so is quite enjoyable.

Hope that helps!

My wife and I are going to Couples in Jamaica in April. We may venture to the A/N beach. I have always had a desire to go to a nude beach or resort. My wife has no interest but may warm to the idea if she met and chatted with those who do go. I shave the southren region a good bit and have a small bit of hair above my penis. The rest of my pubic area is smooth. I have always like my pubes like this. On a A/N beach would I feel strange? Just curious. I like being nude especially in the sun! I am 53 and the wife is 51, married for 28 years. Still love to party and rock & roll!!!

ckmcb4, welcome to the forum. As this is a thread for Club Orient Questions, your post is off-topic. We are careful here not to ever "change the subject". It's called topic hijacking, and degrades the quality and organization of the forum.

Those are all great comments. Why not split them off into the several threads, most of which are already existing, where you'd be on-topic in each one? That's the idea we follow here. It's one of the reasons we rank so well on Google.

My wife Wendy & I have been to Club Orient six times, all in October. We've chosen to stay in the mini-suit accommodation and found it to be ideal for two and with enough room to entertain an other couple for dinner. Also, the cost has been pretty much the same as a studio. The guests are very friendly as one might expect, being mainly from the States and also nudists are a good natured lot anyway. This place is a 24-7 nude experience and we found that at dusk, not being from the western side of the Atlantic, it was wise to take cover for an hour or so from the "no see ums" (what a great name for the little blighters / biters) and also at dawn to avoid being covered in itchy bites.

October is pretty quiet at Club Orient in our experience but it does liven up at Halloween.

The ages range from the thirties up but I suppose most fall into the bracket "middle age".

The beach is well used but to guests, Club Orient provide free sun chairs & parasols and in truth it never gets uncomfortably busy in October. The swimming is sublime. Being right on the beach makes Club Orient just great for naturists and we usually enjoy a pre-breakfast nude walk right along the length of the bay which is perfectly okay before 09.00. Good breakfasts are served in the restaurant and we also have at least a couple of breakfasts at Baywatch a very short stroll down the beach from Club Orient which sets you up for the day and is run by Andy from New Jersey who has a unique sense of humour!

The next bay, Galion is "clothes optional" and is a most pleasant walk but I would recommend going early in the morning and not at all on Sunday as the place is busy then with people dressed and being there in the nude would not be a good idea. Early on weekdays however it is a lovely place for a quick dip. We always take something to slip on as one year the bay was being used by the French military for manoeuvres!

We also love going to the marina at Marigot where there is a place selling marvellous crepe breakfasts with lashings of good French coffee & fresh orange juice. Some restaurants are still closed but by November we think most are open. There is a huge choice of places to dine on both the French & Dutch sides. I'm not convinced that the "duty free" experience saves you much cash but if you're after a new watch or some jewellery the choices are vast in Philipsburg. Worth going there to buy the Guavaberry Mash Up from the wonderful Guaverberry Emporium where a large selection of rums and spices can be bought.

The roads on St Martin are generally always busy and if you are driving to the airport to fly home make sure you leave in plenty of time.

By & large, dragging oneself out of Club Orient is hard but well worth just seeing the island. The nearby butterfly farm is well worth a visit.

We love the place and, all being well & the recession allowing, we'll be back later this year. It sets us up for a cold dark winter back here in Liverpool.

My wife and I just love Orient Bay. By far it is the most relaxing place that I have ever found on earth. The people watching and the freedom to just be me is wonderful. We go as often as we can , but with the way things are going with my retirement funds, We may have to find something in michigan this summer and save to go again. Hope it warms up soon, I'm tired of wearing all these clothes.

We have been to SXM a few times and would suggest a few other beaches besides Orient. Orient is special in its own way, but to experience different beaches, try Baie Rouge, Cupecoy and Happy Bay.

These are less crowded but yet enough people to feel comfortable. If you like to snorkel in the nude, the best is at Orient Beach next to Pedros beach bar.

Orient beach at Club O is without a doubt the most popular, but expand your travels going to other beaches that allow nudity.

Those of you that have gone to Club Orient, did you take any of the nude crusies (Tiko cruise)?

If so, do you recommend booking a reservation before you leave for your trip?

Do you recommend a cover-up for the trip or come as you are?

Did you get sea-sick?

Thanks.

Orient beach is the only place that "allows" nudity, and then only before eight or nine in the morning. After that, you need to stick to Club Orient. Other beaches may be nude friendly, but that depends on the day of the week and who is there. I have not been on the Tiko cruise, but from what I've read on other sites, and in talking to others on the beach; it would depend on the time of year you go. During the slow season, you could probably wait till you get there, but book on your first day. This would give you the chance to possibly join new friends you may meet. No need for a cover-up. Last year, I didn't see one person board the boat all week that had anything with them, other than a hat, sunglasses, snorkle gear and sunscreen.

we are currently staying at Club Fantastico in the Orient Beach area. Up the hill from Club Orient with a pool and excellent view. Open bar and breakfast everymorning.

I would suggest you check this out before going to Club O. We find having the pool and extras over the top from Club O. We looked at Club O and changed to Club Fansatico. Glad we did. Staying here 14 nights.

You can email me if you would like pictures of further information. Might not answer until we get home Thursday, but I will answer.

Someone as asking about the Tiko Tiko. We did it a few years ago was was fun and met some very good people and enjoyed the company with them. But I will be honest and say I thought the Tiko Tiko was over rated. I had a few issues but still had a good time.

This trip we did a nude speed boat snorkel cruise. Its every Friday from Oyster pond. They take up to 6 couples in a 38 ft speeed boat. They leave about 9:00am and go to three snorkel spots.

First was Isle Pinel, second was Green Cay and third was Tintamarre. You can snorkel in the nude at all three locations.

The price is $75 US vs $114 for Tiko Tiko with only one stop. Lunch and drinks provided. We did the mud baths on Tintamarre as Tiko Tiko does, but Paul & Peggy prepare the mud and are interactive where with Tiko Tiko was were simply sent ashore and we had to locate them ourseves.

Cannot begin to tell you how great this snorkel trip was. We have been to the - -an 19 trips and been on many snorkel trips. This is the best ever.

Don't want to spoil it but the lagoon at the end was over the top where we had lunch.

It was Peggy and Paul. They have a website that is www.nudetrips.net

This was such an awesome trip and best value for the dollar. If you have any questions you can email me at caribbean5@aol.com.

You hijacked the thread and supply disinformation!
It a Club Orient thread. The TikoTiko is part of Club Orient. Fantastico isn't. It aint even on the beach! Tell me, do they still have their wine & cheese in the parking lot behind Pedros?

However to correct the subterfuge...
The comparative cruise would be the PikNik cruise at 75$ all inclusive not the gourmet meal with champgne at $115
I wonder if you have ever been on the TikoTiko
The captain and first mate always prepare the mixture of mud. They invented it 13years ago every one else now copies them!

Why didnt you mention the P&P give seasick pills leaving oyster pond!
Why didnt you mention the P&P's trip last 5 hours compared to TikoTiko's 8 hours?
Do they have toilets on P&P's boat?

I wonder why I see such disinformation being spread throughout the various forums...
