Approx 3 weeks ago when we were at our favorite nudist spot here in New England, I noticed that piercing of the belly button and nipples to be a big thing.

I am interested in having this done, but I am petrified of needles, especially that size.

Also, how long does it take to heal, and also how long is the discomfort?

By the I saw this both on women and men, my wife is also interested in having some piercings done, and she also has the same questions.

Hope someone out there can help us.

lol pat. my sister got her belly button pierced recently but it took a while for hers to heal because she was alergic to the type of metal used. but if you have a metal that you are not allergic too then you will be fine and it should heal in i think 6 weeks something like that if you wash it regularly like you should. and if you are afraid of the needle, dont think of it as a needle that would be used in a hospital because it is just a solid piece of EXTREMELY steril steel and its over before you know it started!

Cookie, At least one nudist park I'm familiar with frowns on piercings below the waist. I can recommend using either surgical steel or 14 kt. gold.
I have my ears pierced, and that's all I want...I'm allergic to pain.

Yeah, pretty much , you can tell you are at the wrong theme park, nudist vs other kind of themes, if your genitals set off the metal detector.

As an academic I am expected to be "respectable" most of the time, so to celebrate a major promotion and reassure myself that I was still me, and at the age of 50, I had both nipples pierced. IT was a purely transitory sharp pain and healed in a week or so. It was the best thing I have ever done for me and I love the rings - so does Heather when she pulls them and plays with them.

Heather has her navel pierced, and again we both find thes to be aesthetically pleasing and good to play with.

For the looks, the feel , the interest of others and the sheer pleasure of adornment, I would say that if you are attraactd to the idea, then go ahead. Sure there are some conservative nudists (I hesitate to use the term "fundamentalist") who frown on anything other than what they regard as the norm, but piercing has been enjoyed throughout history - often by the upper classes and aristocracy only - as a sign of eroticism and pleasure. Just because the world is going through one of its periodic fearful stages of ultra conservatism does not mean that we should miss out. Enjoy - and if you want to know more on a one-to-one basis, please email privately.

John, thank you for your candid thoughts on the piercing of the body. I think you have convinced me to go ahead and endure the few seconds of discomfort for the pleasure that I and my wife will enjoy.

My wife is leaning towards having her piercings done, but I believe she is going to wait to see how I survive. I guess I am the "ginney pig"!

I will make an appointment at a piercing shop which is near my office for tomorrow. Hopefully I will be able to get in before I "chicken out!

My wife now tells me that she has to do more reading about the piercings that she wishes.

I know that in all the resorts that we have been privilged to travel and spend time at there was no restrictions on body piercings.

Keep your fingers crossed, and I will let you know how I make out!!

John,
I posted this message in another forum, but I just wanted to thank you again for your advice on piercings.

As I said I had my nipples piered last week, and now after celebrating the Red Sox victory in the World Series and watching the parade today, my wife decided to heve her piercings done today. We will be leaving for the South shortly after Thanksgiving, and she thought this would be good for the healing factor.

After the initial shock, she is happy that she has had it done, and she surprised me that she is thinking of having her belly button pierced and may venture into other areas. Boy, does she surprise me.

Thanks,

Cookie

belly button piercings and ornaments are quite attractive.

as far as other piercings are concerned, that is up to the person.

I could not believe all the great ideas for belly buttons and nipples at the piercing shop.
From what I understand, now that we have had our nipples pierced, that the belly button is the longest to heal because of the location.

I guess it is caused by the irration of the area because of belts and tight slacks, pants, jeans, etc.

I know my wife told me this AM she is elated, because after yesterday and her piercings, she will not be wearing a bra for quite sometime.

I think she and I will wait until we head south to have our navels pierced, since we will be out in the nice warm weather and sun and that will certainly assist in the healing.

We should have done this a long time ago.
