Posted - 12/06/2011 : 4:32:31 PM Here is a topic that I have not seen discussed. We have other topics about nudity around home, but what about when we are away from home? How naked are you when staying in a hotel?
A few years ago I was staying at a Holiday Inn that had an indoor hot tub and sauna. Despite seeing video monitor cameras watching the hot tub I removed my swimming suit and enjoyed the water. Another time I was at a hotel with an outdoor hot tub near the pool. Again, after dark, I soaked naked.
While in my room at hotels I often lounge around naked. On upper floors I leave the curtains open. On an upper floor room with a balcony I've sometimes sat naked on the balcony.
On ground floor rooms I'm more cautious, but I often leave the curtains partly open. I have, rarely, gone down the hall naked a short way to the ice machine or vending machines. I've always been careful to look first and then carry my room key.
I never went streaking through the lobby, nor flashed the maid.
What is your experiences in hotels? Do you go naked in the hot tub or pool? Do you leave the curtains open? Or do you just go naked in your room and are careful not to be seen. |

Posted - 12/07/2018 : 10:05:35 AM We recently stayed in a hotel close to a hospital where my dad was admitted. We were checking in and usually it's me who requests an upper floor room so we can keep the shades and drapes open for that feeling of almost being naked outside.
My mind was preoccupied with my dad's condition but my trusty nudist sidekick spoke up and she said, "and we'd like an upper floor room. Maybe with a view of the pool but preferably on the East side of the hotel!" The East side of the hotel had a hillside/valley view with no buildings next to the hotel!
She looked at me as we left the front desk and hugged my arm and just said, "focus!"

Posted - 12/07/2018 : 09:10:01 AM My girlfriend and I took a trip to Pittsburgh this past August. Our hotel had a pool that was indoors/outdoors. It was inside a big glass solarium that could be opened up if they wanted to. It was closed on this day as it had rained pretty good. We were the only ones in the pool, so I stripped off my suit and swam naked for a little over an hour. I even had to walk down to the car at night to grab something. I walked down with my shorts on, but walked back to the room naked. |

Posted - 07/01/2018 : 6:17:22 PM Yes, they seem very conservative generally but in the change rooms all the guys were naked the whole time. They got undressed, showered, then used the spa, or sauna or steam room, showered again (rinsed off really) before using another room / spa, and the cycle continued. Some even did some form of exercise / stretching for some time between using the various rooms / pools, not tai chi but similar. My wife said the womens change rooms were similarly relaxed with Chinese women walking around naked but in the pool area, the few women I saw wore very conservative one pieces. I was not sure what to expect so had not pre-judged anything but as the saying goes "when in Rome ...." so given I was in China I got naked and enjoyed the freedom of the change rooms. SBN. |

Posted - 06/29/2018 : 7:57:17 PM Just back from 3 weeks travelling in China. Nude in the hotel rooms as soon as we got there and after turning any A/c off, too cold. Some of the higher rated hotels we stayed at had pools so speedo's were required but the change rooms (gender separate) had saunas and spas where suddenly the Chinese modesty disappears and all the occupants wander naked, it was great. I was certainly clean when I left afet lots of saunas, spas, steam rooms and rinsing after each as is the custom. SBN. |

Posted - 06/11/2018 : 07:43:02 AM I always request a high room with a good view, as I'm a photographer. If possible they always accommodate me. Solves two issues. I don't have to worry about closing the blinds and I sometimes get some great shots. |

One of the main reasons we get a room on the top floor, over looking parking lots or street views without buildings facing our room window. Sometimes it takes a little recon and desk clerks sometimes look at me puzzled as to why I want certain floors and sides of the hotel but that's what we want and I usually get. This way we can be naked in our room, shades/drapes wide open and get a feeling as though we are outside naked and not have that closed in feeling. It's even better is the room has a balcony and it's mostly private!

Posted - 06/03/2018 : 4:05:11 PM In hotels I immediately get naked and stay naked the entire time. It’s one of the few times I can be nude without worrying someone might walk in on me. I’ve never streaked down the hall but I stayed in a hotel that had a laundry room that needed your room key to open. So at about 1130 I went to do my laundry and stay in the laundromat nude the entire time my clothes were in the machine. My heart was pounding the entire time |

Posted - 07/04/2017 : 03:57:58 AM As someone who works at a hotel front desk overnight, I'm more concerned with people spreading their bodily fluids than a little nudity. Obviously, I'm biased, but one of the security guards that works on the weekends goes to the same C/o campground as I do, so I have to assume he feels the same way.
My hotel doesn't have a pool, but there are only cameras on the lobby level |

You are absolutely correct, that place would be a gold mine if they just took advantage of their unique location.

Posted - 08/31/2014 : 11:08:03 AM I think the owners of the motel/hotel adjacent to Haulover beach are missing an opportunity. Maybe they have 100% occupancy as is, but if not, turning their hotel into a nudist venue would guarantee it.

Posted - 08/31/2014 : 10:40:09 AM Doc's story about the naked hot tub reminded me of the professional meetings I used to attend at an airport hotel in Albuquerque, NM. It could have been a Marriott, doesn't matter. It had two stories of rooms in a box shape with a large courtyard in the center. A restaurant and meeting/conference rooms were at the east side. My professional association met there once a month, suit and tie meetings, dinner speaker, etc.
One night the place was crowded so I ended up parking toward the back of the hotel. After the meeting I took a short cut across the center courtyard. Out in the dark courtyard was a lovely warm hot tub with nobody else there. No bushes, but no lights. I went to my car, stashed my jacket and tie, waited 5 minutes until the other meeting people had passed by. Then it was back to the hot tub for a nice naked soak. I had to get undressed in plain sight of all the rooms, but people don't look out their windows anyway. Then I didn't have a towel, so I just put on my pants wet and went back to my car for the drive home. The next month I brought a towel. It became my regular process to relax after the monthly meetings. Nobody ever came out to complain. Carpe Diem.

Posted - 08/31/2014 : 04:53:36 AM LIfe in the nude can be tough sometimes, Doc. No towels is an essential sin in the nudist world, but since you were NUI (nude under the influence), you are forgiven.
I'm still waiting for Motel 6 to be a nude motel. I feel a long wait coming .
