The longest I've been nude is usually about a long weekend when my neighbors leave to go see family out of state. Get home on Friday get out of my boots and jeans and stay that way until I have to go back to work the next week. Getting back into steel toe boots and heavy jeans is awful.

I've been mostly nude all summer. I live out of town a little way so I go naked outside and inside. Now that I'm retired I don't have to go to a job all week. Once or twice a week I have to go to town for something, so I drive nude into town, put on some shorts and T, go into the store. Then I doff the outfit and driven nude coming home. The other exception is on cool mornings I wear a flannel jacket until it warms up. If it was legal to shop naked I wouldn't be clothed hardly all summer.

Naked is green.

I've been nude for days without interruption at home, and that is only in late spring through fall. Why wear anything? My skin holds me together okay. I can go without air-conditioning if nude, and my wardrobe does not need washing at this time of the year.

What about privacy? My house has walls, of all things. No need to worry about pedestrians outside.

Periods of nudity away from home. I've spent weekends nude in the Sierra. Some days off, I've been to several nude places but with being clothed driving in between.

I fully agree with nudeman16, in that putting my clothes back on after long periods of being nude is not a welcome feeling.

“I rise early almost every morning and sit in my chamber, without any clothes whatever, half an hour or an hour, according to the season, either reading or writing.”
Ben Franklin

The longest I've been nude is 8 days, I feel very happy and free without clothes, when I put clothes back on it felt very strange as if my body rejects them, even proving more that we humans were not meant to wear clothes

I know the feeling nudewalker. I often forget that I'm nude and have to be careful that I don't just go outside during the daytime to just take out the trash or something like that. I'm more cognizant of getting dressed for going out to the store but for around the house activities I have to be careful.

Since my retirement I have been able to go long stretches without dressing; as much as 60 plus hours. There have only been a few times I actually kept track so it may have been even longer. Twice the Mrs. has caught me going outside to the front yard nude this summer as one feels so normal after an extended period of nakedness. Now if I could only talk the Mrs. into moving to a place where there would be more freedom. A resort is out of the question as she is opposed to the social aspect but some acreage would be nice!

Being naked for long periods of time is quite normal for us. We don't have a need to leave the house daily. Sometimes we don't go anywhere for a couple of days or if we do, it's for a very short period of time to run an errand. This type of lifestyle lends itself to be nude for extended periods of time if you live nude. When we are home, we are nude; so it is possible for us to go days without wearing clothes with the exception of an hour one day, an hour or two the next day and then not wear clothes at all for a couple of days. Either way ... we don't really pay much attention to how much time, how many hours straight, we have been naked. We're just naked when and where we possibly can.

If and when any of our textile friends decide to join us ... it will be of the Prof's doing. She has a way of articulating the joys, benefits and feelings nudism gives her. I remember last year at a nude 5k at a local club. We met a couple from the net. He recognized me from my avatar. They introduced themselves and with his wife standing slightly behind him, he asked my wife why she enjoyed being a nudist. She answered and this guys wife moved forward and opened up and began talking to the Prof. He said to me, "that's the first time she's ever done that! She's always standing behind me and never talkative."

Female friends and female nudists, in general, are the best advocates of nudism/naturism. They have the ability to articulate nudism and it's benefits far better than any guy and they have a much better chance of getting someone to try it and or converting others to it.

Loves being naked. Plays well with others!

Thanks for the statement of the facts Doc and Cava. LOL!! I guess one of these days when the opportunity arises I could just get naked in their tub or ours and see where it goes. Cause Mrs Steady and her friend have skinny dipped together many times over the years and a little wine could loosen everyone up!
And Doc, we had a great time in Oregon with you guys and look forward to seeing your home and hot tub!

I was very luck this last spring, in that the wife was visiting family in the 'lower 48' for a few weeks. During that whole time I was enjoying being nude. The only times that I had to put cloths on was when I went to town to get the mail or shop and when I had a friend come up to help stand up two walls for the green house that I was building. I spend a lot of time out doors, mostly while building a green house, but also getting the garden ready. I was getting a real good 'all over' tan, it was great! I only wish that I was able to spend a LOT more time nude. Someday!

On the topic of going nude for a long period of time, the longest I've gone nude was 36 hours, I got off work, went to the store and stocked up on supplies so I wouldn't have to leave. Got home removed my clothes and just did everything around the house nude, it was the best 36 hours ever! Right now I'm pretty much a home nudist and my wife has excepted that, though she has requested that I put clothes on when the kids are awake. I respect her requests but as soon as they are asleep, off come the clothes and back to total comfort. Still working up the nerve to go to a resort, my wife whose not into it, yet, has agreed to come with me to a clothing optional resort. I think once she is around other nude women off all shapes and sizes, she may try it. I hope she does, it would be incredible to be nude for days on end.

I'm fairly new to nudism but I will have to agree with NaturistDoc on this one, since she's your wife's best friend then maybe it should be left to the women to sort this out.

This is actually a refreshing change from the numerous "How do I talk HER into it" posts.

I'm guessing that his reticence stems from one or both of the following concerns. First, your "We are'nt swingers" protests to the contrary, he may not entirely trust your motives, in which case your "encouragement" may actually be counterproductive. Second, he may have a first-timer's understandable anxiety over his own possible, um, response to Mrs Steady's sudden nude proximity. I'd be a little surprised if you ever talked him into it. It might be easier to let the women sort it out.

Meanwhile, you're welcome in our hot tub any time.

So I found this old topic.
It's some thing I've been trying to wrap my head around for a while now.
Mrs Steady's best friend has on occasion expressed interest and curiousity with our nude vacations and my love of being naked as much as possible! Her acceptance has made it easier tor Mrs Steady to grow into it!
We travel with her and her husband frequently and when the topic comes up I always encourage the two of them to try naturist activities. But without question her husband is the stumbling block to that ever happening.
Both they and we have hot tubs and, they know we use ours nude.
If they could join us from time to time in nude activities it would help make Mrs Steady's journey into naturism so easy! And I'm sure if her husband wasn't such a prude Mrs Steady's friend would be into trying it once in a while!
So, here's the question.
Has anyone out there had a similar situation? And if so I would love some feed back on things to try and get him to loosen up!!

And, so we're clear, we aren't swingers and have no interest in that stuff!

The easy way OakPark is when you are showing them the hot tub and talking about it, ask them if they want to use it. They will probably say "We didn't bring our suits." Whereas you would say we don't allow suits in the hot tub. You will find out if they are comfortable with that or not. Usually a couple of glasses of wine will break inhibitions. Put the kids to bed or get them a movie to get them out of the way.
