Posted - 05/08/2014 : 06:41:01 AM When I first heard about this I thought it was a joke . Because I heard on the Bob & Tom show. But then read it and seen pictures. On Friday May 1 RST and Saturday May 2ND. A reading club in New York held a toppless reading day in Central Park and at various nudist friendly venues through out the city. Some of the participants were photograph fully nude. The effort was to get more people into reading. So it had to very good points. 1 people should read more and 2 reading can be done in your birthday suit.

Posted - 05/09/2014 : 10:26:09 PM I didn't pay much attention to the books they were reading, but that's because I don't like to read. As for going topless in New York, this happened many years ago. I remember when I was a young teenager, ever year I'd read in the newspaper about a bunch of women that would gather once a year and go topless, in protest of the laws. Finally they were convincing enough to get the law overturned. They did it in Ontario, Canada too. So Michigan women just have to fight for their right. |

Posted - 05/09/2014 : 8:49:21 PM I did not pay attention to what was being read. But what you read should not matter reading keeps the mind sharp. I will admit that I still on occasion read comic books and magnas and even though it's fiction wreastling magazines. But it is a cool way to promote both nudity and reading. Also I found it interesting that New York allows women to go toppless in public unlike Michigan.

That is the "Pulp Fiction Topfree Book Club" the bad novels is their other gimmick. They have been around for a few years- supporting topfreedom in NYC.
In the pictures it looks like the nude reading was done on a private rooftop deck not out in "public". The topfree reading was in a "public" park.
Yeah, it mentions that the rooftop is a nude/gay friendly hotel. I'm going to have to look into that hotel for whenever I'm in NYC the next time, so I can get some naked time up there! |

Seems like their ranks are growing. A peaceful, literary C/O (but not really coed though..) movement. Thumbs up.

Posted - 05/08/2014 : 12:27:21 PM If I was going to complain about anything, it would be their execrable taste in literature. But the whole thing is an exercise in High Silliness, and a degree of righteous indignation is all part of the fun.
Context is everything, no? I was at Club O last month, and the sight of naked people reading trashy paperbacks was, well, just another day at the office. In Central Park, it's Big News. |

Posted - 05/08/2014 : 11:14:50 AM I saw this story also, and was impressed that a couple of the women were fully nude. I was less impressed by the reader comments on the article, many of which complained about the tattoos, the nudity, etc. Geez, some people just can't relax and enjoy the scenery!

Posted - 05/08/2014 : 07:24:35 AM I saw that story and pics yesterday too. Looked real but it gets harder these days to know for sure if something is or isn't any more. Topless is legal in NY but I don't know all the rules as to where, but like you said...some were fully nude too. |
