Hi there. My family and I are planning on moving near Tampa soon. Probably around Odessa or maybe Riverview. SOMEWHERE around there at least. (Still deciding)
We are planning our move for this June/July.
Anyway, are there and nude beaches or clothing optional beaches or areas (other than expensive resorts) around there anywhere?

Thank you SouthernExposure, great info. We'll be in Tampa in March 2013 and staying at - - in land o Lakes but we're also looking for something to do on the beach for one of our days. This is a great idea!

In the Tampa area there is a great island where nudity is always tolerated by law enforcement. On weekends there are usually around 100 boats (in summer). It does require a boat to get there, or a kayak, or canoe. It is called Passage Key and is about 1/2 mile north of Anna Maria Island, or 1 mile south of Egmont Key in the mouth of Tampa Bay. It's mostly a very large area of shallow water and a small sandbar at low tide. It's very popular with nudists and has been for years. Marine Patrol and Coast Guard cruse by every so often and wave... A bit of paradise...
If you don't have a boat, there is a charter service called Grin and Bare It that operates out of Gulfport and I believe still offers trips to the Key. Good Luck! |

I believe you have the wrong Apollo, it's not the city of Apollo beach it's a beach at the Canaveral National Seashore near New Smyrna Beach. Palyalinda is just a few miles away near Tittusville.

I'd like to know more about Apollo beach and where exactly to go when you get there. We've been there to see the Manatees a few times. So it's not far away.
It's within about 30-40 minutes so its definitely a place we could try out. I'd like to take my wife and kids (if possible).

It's done not too far from MacDill AFB and Port Tampa. It has boat ramps, fishing, etc. A nice little place.
Or it was years ago when I was last there.

Picnic Island is a smallish beach in S. Tampa.
