Can anyone provide and information on Solair Resort? I was raised a nudist with my mom. We have been to many resorts and now I'm out on the east coast and will spend the weekend there. Love to meet new friends and just relax. Thnaks Mark |

yes, they have this thing, for first timers, to give a golf cart tour of the property and a short interview, nude of course. I'm sure they could set it up for a weekday. |

Thanks SailingBear... that's a good idea but sometimes for first visits at some resorts they want to make sure someone on staff is there to greet you and show you around...and that might be a weekend. I'll have to check before setting up a visit. |

Best thing is to take her on a week day morning. Very quiet, you may have the whole pool or beach to yourself. |

Thanks rkitek! I guess I missed that on the web site. I'll still ask before going... you never know. Who knows...maybe if it's not crowded, she'll go skinny-dipping again. |

On their website, under the FAQ section is says the following "While many people prefer to go nude 24 hours a day, others find it more practical to dress in the evenings when it gets cooler, for meals or for some sports activities. The only places in Solair where nudism is required is at the pond and pool." |

A CO beach is not a problem but not sure about resorts. I was planning on asking before we went but I was hoping someone here could fill me in about the rules at this resort for their lake. I would hate to bring her on a hot day and she not be able to go in the pool or lake with a bathing suit. At least at a CO beach, which wasn't crowded, she worked up the courage to skinnydip but she might not be willing at a resort if it was even slightly crowded. |

I understand where you are coming from. While I like doing different activies in the nude, the wife is also a devoted textile. There are times that she will venture to my side, she is not going to with other people around. It gets challenging attempting to juggle both worlds. |

Now that I'm back in Upstate NY, this resort is not too far away from me and I'm hoping to check it out this year. I have one question...Most resorts I have been to say you have to be nude in the pool and spa area...Is this true for the beach area as well? Those that have read my posts know that my wife is a confirmed textile so I've never taken her to a resort if she would not be allowed to swim in the pool. So...I was hoping the beach area would be more CO at this resort so that she could enjoy the water in her bathing suit. |

A company I worked for was based near there and on several business trips I was able to get an extra day to visit Solasr. The last time I visited I spent the afternoon on the volleyball court. Everyone was very friendly. I still have the guest card from that visit. There is a sentence that reads the card must be signed on four visits before a membership can be issued. No mention that membership was mandatory. And yes the pool and lake are nice. There is path in the far side of the lake that goes up the hill and gives a good view. It is a member owned club and aside from day visits and campground so I understand the caution. It's a very nice place. |

After the 4th visit, you can choose to become a member, a associate or an affiliate . An affiliate just has to join AANR thru them, then you pay a daily visit fee. Great pool and beach. |

I just visited Solair for the first time yesterday, and on one's fourth visit, they are supposed to meet with the membership director to discuss becoming a member. I'm not sure that membership is required at that point, or if it just costs a little bit more to visit. Regardless, it is a very nice facility, and the people there are very nice. I would recommend it to anyone. Hopefully, the next time I visit I won't have to go alone; I think that would make the visit even more enjoyable.

Sounds like it has relaxed all the rules and changed quite a bit over the years then. The "three visits" rule was crazy. It is a beautiful location; highly recommended.

Old thread but it came up near the top of a search and I had to correct something. I'm not sure if there are many more rules at Solair than anywhere else, but I've never partied as hard as we do at Solair... It's like being back in college again, only better. It's definitely family-oriented, but there are some amazing parties that start out in the Pavilion with DJs and live bands. I'd call Solair many things, but "conservative" is definitely not one of them. (Don't misinterpret though - it's not a big swinger place.)

Nice upscale place. It's pretty conservative with lots of rules. Not the place to go if you want to party hard.
You can visit as many times as you want if you have a membership with another AANR or TNS affiliated club. |

Wife and I visited a couple of times many years ago. Very nice location with a lake. Unfortunately, we found there were lots of rules (no having a drink on the beach, only 3 visits before membership is required, etc.). They might have relaxed things a bit over the years, let's hope. Worth a visit for sure.
