There was a good suggestion for an "off topic" topic, where the Admin won't gripe at you for ignoring the subject!
And so, drum roll please, the moment we have been waiting for has finally arrived! In this thread, and this thread only, it matters not what the subject is, nor if there was a subject in the first place. So, what's new with you?

Posted - 02/28/2010 : 5:21:44 PM NO sign of snow in Southern Australia, I'll keep you posted though. Just a balmy 25C most days, the occasional one at 30-35C but that dreaded cool weather is coming. |

Posted - 02/28/2010 : 3:57:24 PM Guys, I agree 100%. Can't wait for the weather to break. Meantime, found a club not to far away with indoor facilities. Doc
PS Hope you find the good rays in S Cal. |

Posted - 02/27/2010 : 9:25:23 PM I agree...we need spring here, STAT. I am cold, pasty, and clothed. Come on sun!
I'll be in SoCal in April...hopefully there will be enough sun to enjoy San O.

TallTim, I did the angel creation in the backyard. With did the camera thing. Learned that you don't want to try making an angel in deep snow. I sunk down a foot and the angel didn't quite look right. lol

Doc, we should all do it at least once a year just to keep ourselves humble! I posted that three weeks ago and we got snowed on again last night, the thrill is gone, I'm ready for spring. I've got my Jimmy Buffett on constant rotation and a bottle of sun block by my chair to sniff every once in a while.
Classic case of cabin fever!

Posted - 02/23/2010 : 6:49:02 PM How can these forums keep you out of trouble? I read "first time in snow" and it made me want to try it. First time I tried, it was so cold and windy, I never made it past the door. This past weekend was a little milder so I thought I would give it a go. As I was planning my adventure (I live in an apartment complex, so it is not private at all), I thought...wow...if I do this, I can also post it on "bravest thing I have done". Then, just before going out the door, I thought...what if someone sees me and calls the police. Then I would have to post it to "dumbest thing I have done"...so I closed the door. I will stick to CO beaches, MARNA swims and any other places where it is OK to be nude. |

Posted - 02/20/2010 : 6:41:23 PM Hi All, I haven't posted for a while. New Stuff-- My favorite summer association is Sandy Terraces in Marstons Mills on Cape Cod. A strictly coop assoc.but they welcome non members. A year ago they added a great new restroom area with a modern outdoor shower setup. This year they will finish a 20 by 60 pool. Check their website for get details. |

Is this a stupid set-up for something else? |

Posted - 02/18/2010 : 9:22:14 PM My trip to Penn Sylvan was a Phi Nu superbowl party, with snow on the ground. It was held in their clubhouse, was attended by about 40. Most of those were resident regulars. I spent much of my time AT the pool, which is totally glassed-in with double glass window-walls. While the pool was less popular, it wasn't uncomfortable, but people coming and going outside did put clothes on. That was 2006.
Unfortunately, for good medical reasons, I have not been able to enter a pool since 2005, because of skin conditions.
I'll repeat for anyone new what I have said before: ANY ADVANCED DIABETIC IS ADVISED TO BE VERY CAREFUL, AVOID SHARED HOT TUBS TOTALLY, AND IF THERE ARE ANY UNHEALED SORES, TO AVOID POOLS. ADDITIONALLY THERE ARE OTHER SERIOUS DANGERS FOR DIABETICS ON ALL BEACHES.
My very enjoyable hot tub soak at a Phi Nu party earlier in 2005, cost me amputation of my left leg. |

Posted - 02/13/2010 : 10:12:49 AM While you are on the idea of resorts, has any one gone during the winter? We have gone during the summer and fall, but when its cold out, it would just be another resort, or not. |

Posted - 02/05/2010 : 11:58:40 PM Ok, just to add to the conversation; and this should probably be cross-posted to "Dumbest thing" thread.
It's almost midnight on the 5th of February, we have a "winter storm" rolling through the area. To celebrate my first day off in 2 weeks I went out and made a "snow angel" in the front lawn. Just for the heck of it.
Don't forget to turn the shower on prior to heading out the door if you don't have a hot-tub!
Annie congrats on the milestone!
