Hi everyone!
Today (or yesterday as it's past midnight here) was St Gregory's fiest and usually we have our first swim of the year. Unfortunately I didn't because I had to go to work at 4pm and didn't feel like going home to get washed beforehand (and thus leaving an hour earlier).
However, as we (my girlfriend and I) were walking back, we see a couple of young boys going towards the sea and I notice that one of them was totally naked while the others were in their underwear. I wouldn't have noticed it if it weren't for my gf's comment to be honest. She said "Would you look at THAT!" in a disapproving voice. I, who like to be honest, told her "There's nothing wrong." and she started demanding why, etc.
I promptly told her that it's what you do while naked that counts and not nudity by itself. I also mentioned John Paul II's view on nudity, and I have my doubts she actually believed me. I also hinted that nudity might be more comfortable, but I was going to be late so I took that as an excuse to drop the subject for the day as I was in a rush and could say something wrong.
To sum it up, I think I felt positively ENVIOUS of that kid. I know it must feel great and I wanted to follow his lead and go take a plunge in the buff but then I thought of work and realised it just wasn't possible.
One more thing (perhaps the most important):
How can I bring the subject to my gf in a way it won't make me look like a sex maniac? She can be very jealous and I'm afraid she might think I just want to look at other naked girls.

Have an open discussion about visiting a nude beach if you take a vacation somewhere. My best approach to nude discussion with strangers is to mention a neighbor couple that just retired to TX and live in a trailer park resort.

Prism2525, you have mentioned your gf in a couple of discussion threads so just a couple thoughts.
The ideal we guys are often taught is to beat up bullies and treat personal appearance with studied indifference. In contrast, girls and women are systematically taught to be very careful not to do anything to provoke harrassment, while at the same time, to do everything to be maximally attractive. It demands a whole complex set of carefully balanced and intertwined behaviours, built up from childhood. It is no wonder that it is so complicated for individual women to unravel their guard systems to deal with non-sexual and social nudity.
Naturism is of course the antithesis of all this, telling women to feel safe and not to worry about either harrassment or image. How can one be sure that potential harrassers will be perfect gentlemen and everyone will suspend being judgmental? Women raised as naturists already have guard systems geared to different situations, but for everyone else it is frankly a bit much to demand that they believe and adapt in one gulp.
So with your gf, be patient. It is necessarily a process of testing and experience, of finding situations where a particular guard can be suspended in a controlled way and then eventually others, in order that everything can get re-built and re-balanced. It is very individual, but it definitely requires the understanding, support, protection and complicity of a really good friend. And it takes time, since it involves conversation with one's inner child.
In my experience, finding and talking with the inner child is the key. Then listening and enabling positive experiences that correspond.
It can be fun, not to mention enriching your relationship. It sounds like you have lots of good info and discussions, but ultimately may be the little daily experiences, like your nonchalantly changing clothes, that help most.

Hi all!
I had my first swim of the year today. It was freakin' cold but I managed a few minutes after my limbs went a bit numb hehe. My gf just sat on the sand and let the waves touch her a little.
More than that I managed to make her let me change from my swimming trunks back to my underwear in front of her She covered her face, but I caught her peeping (she thought I was bluffing at first. Still, I managed quite a discussion about how the evil is not in nudity itself but in the possible intent of the person(s).

My wife and I live onm the watera and in the summer in the evening wander down to the water and swim bare assed naked in the dark. Water then is about 80 plus so it is great. better than an evening shower for sure.

I'm fortunate enough to have my own pool, and my backyard is private, so I never swim with anything on. I remember when I was a kid, I used to LOVE to go to the swimming pool at the State park near my house because they had a shower in the locker room. While it was behind walls, there is no roof, so it's wide open up above, so you still have that feeling of being outdoors. I'd spend more time in the shower than I would in the pool, just because I could be naked in there. |

Inspiration comes when you least expect it.
About a dozen years ago, I was living in an indifferent flat at the blah end of town, though at least we had a swimming pool. One Saturday morning I was doing laundry - there was one central laundry facility, next to the pool - and I heard some unexpectedly-joyous noises, including the occasional splash.
I walked down to the pool, and there were two boys, maybe eight and six, who'd doffed their duds and were having a good old time in the water. They were reluctant to talk to me, perhaps because they thought I would turn them in to the authorities. But I was too busy thinking "Damn, why can't I do that?"
Eventually someone did escort them off the premises. Not residents of the complex, I suppose. But the next morning, early, I did my own bit of skinny-dipping, and it was wonderful.
Shortly thereafter, they built a wall around the pool and issued key cards to residents, presumably to ward off the possibility of rude and/or nude intruders. Killjoys. |

Haven't had my first nude swim yet as the pool temps aren't up there just yet. But as for your girlfriend, it really depends on her views. Some people just can not separate sex from nudity, no matter how much you try. |
