When, exactly, does a non-naturist become a naturist?

Following from a number of recent debates about "true naturists", "hugging naturists" and "platonic naturists". I've been considering what makes the difference between naturists and others, and at what stage does a person stop being a "textile" and become a naturist?

Is it the first public nude experience?
On joining a recognised Club?
Is it going topless at a beach?
Or something more intrinsic?

... And once you've come a Naturist can you ever go back?

Cheers,
Spontanudity

Hmmmm... Is it possible to be a naturist "all your life". If you're born into a naturist family you may well be comfortable being nude, but when do you make the transition into being a naturist?

Cheers,
Spontanudity

patchouli,

keep the faith. tell the big guy to let it play itself out and it will be ok, forcing the issue may cause unnecessary grief. in any case my very best to you both

Well said Patchouli, I agree with you.

Patchouli, well-said. Why imagine a problem that doesn't exist, and may never come up. I wish you both well in your "blending"

Please let us know how it goes.

Naturally, Dan :)

Pacthouli,

I totally agree... At the end of the day its no big deal!

Bare,
let your "two" families decide which is best... I'm sure everybody will get on well and there will be no problem. Besides there is really only one way of finding out... Try it! :)

Cheers,
Spontanudity

Bare, I think you are the only one that is worried about the blending of our families and the transition of family nudity. My daughter has seen her dad naked and he doesnt make an issue of it and I've talked with her about you and your daughter being nudists as well and she doesnt understand why "Im making a big deal of it". So relax! :)

As far as your ex having a problem with your nudity and trying to use it against you, if/when she gets serious about taking you to court she will nit pick and try to find every toe hold she can to use against you. Dont make nudity a big deal. I dont see the point in even talking to her about it unless she brings it up.

Deal with the problems as they happen instead of fretting about them in advance. Besides, nothing may ever come about. Be optimistic!!

Well that makes sense though. After you get comfortable around others with your clothes off you be even more comfortable about what you look like with your clothes on after that.

Bare in the Desert, sounds like a wonderful plan to "blend" your 2 families. I too wish you well in your endeavor. I hope the transition goes smoothly. Be sure to let us know.

Sorry, I didn't know that there was several pages of posts here, I had to go back through and read everything. I hate the fact that when it comes to it you have to keep in mind what the courts view things as, in order for you not to loose your daughter. And I concur with your revelation that your ex-wife wants custody of your daughter just so she can look good in front of her friends. It would be hard for her as society often puts the burden of raising children on the mother. I suppose the cliche would go.. if your a seperated mother without custody, you must be a bad mother, how ever a seperated dad often gets a rap as a deadbeat dad, so touche.
