Posted - 09/08/2004 : 12:33:30 PM What sports should and shouldn't be done in the nude? From a nudist standpoint, I can't think of any sports that shouldn't be done nude, but I would think sports such as football & ice hockey might not be as safe if done in the nude. Amateur wrestling might make the participants uncomfortable if done in the nude.

Some women should never bungee jump nude.

Posted - 05/26/2011 : 5:52:36 PM Recently, our daughter and her husband tried bungee jumping for the first time. Being in a remote area of northern Oregon, they let them do it nude:) She said it was fun but doesn't feel the need to do it again:)
Never did anything like that, but years ago water skied naked in Lake Tahoe.

Posted - 05/26/2011 : 12:43:25 AM went fishing the other day at my favorite lake and its only my favorite because its close to the house, there is a small creek off the beaten path that i can enjoy being nude and fishing at the same time. i was in my fishing boat but sometimes i take my kayak and will skinnydip when the sun gets to hot, that day it wouldn't have mattered as the water was to muddy but what was interesting the rest of the lake the water was clear oh well amybe next time i will take the kayak. |

Posted - 05/25/2011 : 11:15:54 PM I love light running and totally agree with the observation that my endurance improved and I did not overheat. Oh sure, you still work up a good sweat, but this is easily remedied the moment you finishing running with a quick shoes-off shower! Cooling down this way is worth the effort of making the run in the first place!! Nothing feels as wonderful as that in my humble opinion.
My second favorite clothing free sports activity is hiking on open National Forest land (even making your own trail or navigating by GPS in areas where you know it is relatively safe (e.g. bear free)). I have done this in Arizona and really, really found it enjoyable.
Throwing a boomerang in the nude is easier than most people might imagine and it just feels "right"; like a sport that was meant to be done in the nude. QUICK TIPS: * Don't buy an expensive boomerang (~$5-10 is OK). * The wind needs to be no greater than 3 to 5 miles an hour otherwise you will spend more time chasing the failed toss. * Hold the boomerang at a 45 degree tilt and face into the wind, or turn no more than 15 degrees "off" the direction of the incoming wind. (for right-handed tosses, this means turning slightly to your right) * Throw level with the ground (e.g. straight-out, head level) and this is the level the boomerang should end up coming back in on its approach. * I suspect this would be a GREAT family activity because it is easy to get competitive with others while throwing and probably have a great laugh over the failed catch attempts. * On return, the boomerang will level off and slow to stall speed usually about 15 to 25 feet from where you launched it. This depends on the wind, the force of the toss, and the weight of the boomerang.
FINAL NOTE: I purchased a fancy boomerang that was signed by a national champion and the odd thing is its "airfoil surfaces" seem to be backwards or completely wrong! Very odd. It is almost as if it were made for left-handed throwing AND being tossed with the apex of the angle facing into the wind, rather than the "mouth" of the angle. I attempted to throw this boomerang once and it did a power-dive into the packed earth and snapped itself in half! It has remained on the shelf since then, so paying more for any boomerang is only worth it if you are SURE of the product you're buying.
Bicycling is one thing I would love to do more of. I have only tried a few brief rides, but entering into a WNBR event or Solstice ride up in the northwest is definitely on my bucket list!

Posted - 03/03/2011 : 10:27:19 AM If you enjoy nude volleyball, I'd suggest going to White Thorn Lodge. www.whitethornlodge.org They hold the Super Bowl of Nude Volleyball every year on the weekend after Labor Day. It's a hugh event with over 1,000 nudes there. You can read about it on the website. While there be sure to look at the "events" tab to see what fun things that are planned for the summer.

We have to push the limits on early spring and late fall to maximize the nudist season. So, Bob, let's both learn to tolerate colder weather. Chlling thought!
