I am a new member of this community and I was wondering how you all feel about raising a child around nudism.

Nudism/Naturism is the only sensible reply to the overexposure of our sexual beings by advertisers.

It makes us equal - we all are beautiful and we all have flaws. Great to be able not to have to hide behind a wall of any kind.

I recently visited singapore and adults and children, teens mixing in nudists situations are common and very excepted. However, Porn is stictly forbidden and outlawed.

Now in the US, americans have to chance time when adults and children and teens together and given access to sites like this.. for fear feminist or activist in some fashion will pursue legal action and bring possible prosecutorial charges. However, Porn is open to all (via the internet).

Many other european countries are quick open also. Why americans have to fear being sued or possibly arrested due to some rumor that children or teens naked are being POSSIBLY molested. When no such behavior is ever happening? Sort of like the old victorian age.

Just curious

Recently I visited one beach, very small but crawded. I placed myself behind one family: father nudist, mother topless and girl (about 11, hard to tell) in underwear ! And these two were the only not nudist among some 30 people.

When I came girl was in topless but in undewear. Strange I thought first that she might get cold because it was constantly wet (by water). By her little breasts I realized that she was just in puberty.

Most of the time she was gawking but not in pervert-style but more like curiosity. She was perfectly convinced that it is right thing to do and when I cought her to stare at me she seemed not to mind at all ! After some 10 minutes she took her bra also underwear !

Only 6 meters away 4 girls where playing naked. Thay had no pubic hair and clearly not in puberty.

Can you what I want to say ?

Obviously, entering puberty is a great mark in her life and for most teens and pre-teens. So, having say - pubic hair, made her very distinct from the kid-girls while comparing to grown up girls her breasts looked plain pahetic ! Actualy she was confused, about where she belongs now - probably nowhere !

Later on she went to topless joined kid-girls but soon retired, like she was rejected.

Good question. There is much I could say on the subject, but as that I still am on a road of healing and discovery, I find myself holding back some, until such a time I feel better grounded. I was raised in a nudist family, from about the ages of 8-11/12. My parents divorced after that and our family quit participating in nudism, for the most part. I have a younger brother, and sister, and overall, they maintained no interest in the lifestyle. I have always kept a certain outlook or view on simple nudity, that there is nothing wrong with it, but at the same time, found myself being more conservative when raising my children. My wife (we met in High School at 16 years of age) knows that I have always retained a part of that lifestyle in my heart, yet basically shevelde it for a long time. A long story short (hope I haven't put anyone to sleep!) attitudes of parents, or better yet, reasons for being involved in nudity, social, simple, whatever, should be well established by adult parties. That is to say, I, as well as my brother and sister, have come away with some issues regarding the years raised openly in nudism. It didn't (I believe anyway) stem from seeing other people, adults and children, in the nude, or even our parents for that matter, but that underneath, unseen, my father had some kind of issue with nudity. It's hard to explain, but there was a prewith his nakedness and body. As a result, that which generally is not given a second thought, becomes an issue, even though, as a child, they can't explain why or how it now seems "unatural". I realize that most of you are probably going "Huh?"...but it took me a long time to work through it, and because I had good experiences with it, I finally wanted to balance the books, and see where I stood on it. As a christian, I thought, this can't be right, but was still driven to seek an answer. As of this moment, I have found no contradictions with my faith and simple nudity. My wife isn't as sure as me, but we continue to talk and maybe some day. For now, she is willing to be that way...with me. I feel like I have to take it slow with my own grown kids, but the part I did teach them, the body is nothing to be shamed of, helps bridge the gap created by all the years of "non nudity". Guess that's way enough said...thanks for the forum...:)

Have a Great Day! Steven

My wife has been a home nudist for several years now and her (now 11 yr) daughter would take part every once in a while when they were in their own house. My daughter (4 yr) and I have been home nudists all her life in our own home. Now that we have joint our homes my step-daughter has not been much for nudism. We think it is because she is not use to have a male around and also because she is in the time when her body is changing. Her mom as talked to her about it, to make sure she knows just because its not all girls anymore its still ok to be comfortable (nude) at home. We dont push it though, we let her decide. The rest of us are still nudists and make sure she knows she's not an outcase with clothes on and she tells us she is not embarrassed when we are all nude. We let her know she can always talk to one of us if she ever has any questions or issues with nudism.

When or if she decides she wants to be a nudist again is her decision.

I agree with you Chic, life is about choices, and if the children have been exposed to nudity, and do not want to continue with the lifestyle, then thats their choice, and we should honor it.

Our kids lived happily with our life style.

So, thank God at that time they accepted us, so let's accept their choices as they accepted ours.

I notice this happens in a lot of families. I think that young people just get so busy in there life, school, jobs, marriage, they just don't have the time. Maybe after they settle down in there careers and life, they may return to the lifestyle.

vealj.

as long as they've turned out to be productive and good citizens, thats an acconplishment in itself. who knowa why they are no longer nudists. lots of folks would like to be i suspect, but have other agendas which conme ahead . but it probably does make you scratch your head from time to time

Melissa,

We raised our kids as nudists (from the time they were 5,6 & 7) and we think they turned out just fine. Kids have no problem adjusting to nudism since they haven't been programmed yet and nudism is, after all, the natural way of being as opposed to being dressed.

That said, all three of our kids grew up and married and joined society as happy, productive people but they no longer are nudists. Go figure.

Take care and ...
Keep it Bare !!!

All I can say hillbilly is when we joined our first club, the owner/manager showed us around, introduced us to people. There wasn't one specific person or couple that helped us, just seems like all the members pitched in and made us feel comfortable. I am sure most clubs are like that.

I'm not going to make her do anything like that. She knows our plans this summer. I also know she will want to go at some point because she loves to go camping. I think see will go at some point. Do you know if most family sites have a member that works with newbes?
Kimberly Posted - 02/10/2004 : 02:48:58 AM
We started our kids out as babies hillbilly, so it was easier. My teens tend to "hang" with the other teens. I am sure that if their are other teens there she will feel more at ease. Make sure this is something you have discussed with your daughter, so she will be prepared. Most of the clubs we have been to too have been family friendly, watchout for the kids, and do not require them to be nude, except in the pool. 16 is an awkward age for a girl, especially to get into naturism, just depends how open she is to it.

Did any one here start their teenager out by taking them to a land club? I wonder if that would be a good way. As I understand it. The one I want to join is Family friendly and you can have clothes on. You all say people are real friendly and I would think other kids would be there and they could talk to mine at their level. She is 16. What do you think?? Anyone here been to Lake Bronson?
