If you want to find out, here is a simple test (all yes-no type answers) you can take. It's at:
http://humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp There is nothing you have to buy at this site; the test is free. It will tell you a lot about yourself. Have your spouse, significant other, or any friend take this. It will help you immensely in understanding that person. Once you find out your type, you can go to http://www.typelogic.com Then click on your type, and read all about yourself, based on the answers you gave on the test. It's not astrology but is scientific. Have fun taking it. You can share your results with us if you want.

Robert Redford is variably reported as either ISTP or ENTJ -- that just about covers all the bases!
At least we know he Thinks, therefore he must be, but we still don't know what he Thinks about viagra.

INTP here. I've taken these tests before and come out INTJ or INTP at different times, but the INTP description seems pretty accurate now (although parts of INTJ fit as well...).

So you're borderline in your being organized and scheduled, or unorganized and unscheduled. INTP puts you in James Madison's category -- a brilliant word mechanic. Or, you are the "Expert" to whom facts are crucial. Still you are imaginative, and by necessity, introverted. Famous INTJs are Colin Powell and Katie Couric. We'll come to you for information, and you can inform us.

Let me take your personality pulse, Doc. You're introverted, imaginative, make decisions based on values and feelings, and you are organized and scheduled to a good degree.

You're the Mystic Writer, and you can get highly involved in a good cause, even at your own expense. Don't forget to add Mother Teresa to your list of your types. Not bad, guy!

I'm fine about being associated with Pope John Paul II, Steve Martin, Franklin Roosevelt, Al Gore, Dave Letterman, Johnny Depp and Steve Jobs. I am less enthusiastic about having to explain Richard Nixon, Margaret Thatcher, Norman Schwarzkopf, Newt Gingrich and Jim Carey!

Agde,

You cannot change your stripes! Haha. You are who you are, and no other situation can long change that.

Interesting, DaffyTaffy2, your avatar shows your feelings and your desire to share them. That is from your letters, E and F. Your strongest trait is your extroversion, of course. You are a bit more organized than spontaneous. Famous people like you are Dick Van Dyke, James Garner, and Ben Affleck. Continue on with being a great "life guide!"

I'm an ISFJ... as such, I'm in the company of:

St. Teresa of Avila (Teresa de Jesus)
Louisa May Alcott
Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Queen Elizabeth II of England
Robert E. Lee
Queen Mary I ("Bloody Mary") of England

Not what I expected, but I'll go with it ;)

Admin and FlCpl4NewdFun have the personality called "Expert." They are introverted, intuitive, makes cold, logical decisions, and are very scheduled, and organized persons. They are similar to William J. Bennett, Colin Powell, and Lance Armstrong. If you want to know something, these are the people to ask.

HomeNudist, elad, and Balto Bob have the personality called "Administrator." Think of Jack Webb, with nothing but the facts. Introverted, sensitory, make cold, logical decisions and are well-organized and stick to their schedule. They get the job done.

Phydeau is the "Scholar." Scholars are introverted, intuitive, make cold, logical decisions, and are spontaneous, as opposed to being well scheduled and organized. People with a similar personality are Sir Isaac Newton, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Bob Newhart. They like to digest thoughts and think deeply about things.

Rooftop Willy gave us a nice description of his ISTP personality, or "Craftsman", in the style of Clint Eastwood, hard and fast, like Eastwood's gun. He'll take care of any unusual problems in the bat of an eye, and likes to work with his hands. He'd make a great firefighter, ambulance driver, or whatever calls for spontaneity and accurate sensing of what is going on around himself.

As for me, and this is very embarrassing, I'm the absent-minded professor, who is not organized, but can track down patterns of behavior of people and electrical devices. Career counselors have the hardest time with my personality type -- INFP, or "Idealistic Philosopher". The man who came up with the structure of this test was also an INFP, so I must be good for something, it's just that no one has found it yet. There is always hope!! LOL

INTJ for me. Can't argue with the outcome. Funny how many of us nudists start with an I - go figure

Admin - Nice to hear from a fellow Zappa fan. Frank is my favorite musical artist of all time. Have most all of his albums 40+ (not counting the one's released posthumously by his family to keep the coffers of the trust happy). In fact I was listening to his first album "Freak Out" with the Mothers of Invention in the car on the way to work this morning. Track 7 "Trouble Everyday" is even more relevant today than it was in the 60s.
