No Topic Needed In This Thread - Topic-Free Zone

There was a good suggestion for an "off topic" topic, where the Admin won't gripe at you for ignoring the subject!

And so, drum roll please, the moment we have been waiting for has finally arrived! In this thread, and this thread only, it matters not what the subject is, nor if there was a subject in the first place. So, what's new with you?

Hey, DrkNite...I think we're enjoying the same snowfall. I'm a teacher in Ohio, and am on my third snowday in a row. But somehow, in these cold conditions, I'm not even tempted to spend much time OUTside.:)

As for showers before entering a pool or hot tub, I believe that Florida has a statute that mandates it.

A good way to handle heavy drinkers is to use a camcorder to memorialize the drunks actions. Use is for entertainment at your home. Invite the neighbors over, your friends, and family to watch this comic event. I don't know if putting that video on youtube is legal or desirable, but that though did occur to me for a second. It might not be legal. Is putting bothersome drunks into stockades in the town square still lawful these days?

It is error alone which needs the support of government. Truth can stand by itself.

I don't have a problem with people smoking or drinking as long as they are polite about it and respectful. I think that repect is a two way street, show me respect and I will respect you. Now being intoxicted well I don't approve of that however there are times at parties after hours etc when adults do over indulge, it happens. When it does happen I feel the friends of that person need to see if they can get that person to go sleep it off failing that then the management needs to do whatever they feel to keep the situaton from getting out of hand.

Most places do not allow smoking in the saunas/hot tubs/jacuzzis because of the grime .

Others do not allow alcohol in these areas because of the possible adverse health effects of intoxication and the heat/steam,plus the possibility of falling and getting injured.

The shower? Common sense to wash off the grime and sunscreen. Have seen the scum and it is nasty to clean.

If only people could see what they get up to when they've had too much to drink.

Very true, Smithy. They'd probably die of embarrassment!

I think the key is moderation. There's obviously a big difference between enjoying a drink or two, and getting drunk. I think drunk people are only amusing to other drunk people. Otherwise, they're just obnoxious.

There is nothing worse than running your fingers in the sand and getting a handful of cigar or butts. Do you ask if the person will put it out or do you keep quite and suffer in silence? Heavy drinkers and smokers have always been a turnoff for my wife and me. The perch bar at orient beach is o k to have a couple of drinks and to chat and have a good time but NOT in a public hot tub or pool. How do we who are offended by this type of behavior act? I am open to all kinds of advice.

Showers pre-pool are required in just about every placer I've ever been, from WMCA and a Municipal Pool when I weas a kid, up to the place that the Phi Nu nudists rented in 2005. The two pools in my current hometown are both posted "Must Shower before entering pool."

Why do naturist resorts require people to shower, with soap, before intering their pool or jacuzi? If I were to go to a regular textile resort for the day just to hang out, have a picknick and use their pool, I wouldn't need to shower first. Does the lack of costume Make such a big difference? If you think about it, the costume is made of fabric, not plastic, so the water will pass right through it and anything on the skin under the costume will eventually make its' way into the pool water.
Can any body help here?

Have you ever seen a hot tub when someone wearing lotion has used it?! It gets this "wonderful" scum on the surface or just gets very cloudy. I guess nudist places are just more careful about their water condition.

I agree bobski96. I don't drink either, mostly because it gives a headache -Before I get to the drunk bit - but also I don't like being out of control and end up doing things I might regret. If only people could see what they get up to when they've had too much to drink.

Why go to a nude enviorment if we all want to get goofy and dumb? Any feedback ?

You're not alone in feeling this. It seems at times that the places we've visited are overrun with drinkers. I'll have an occasional sip of wine, but that's it. Some of my friends will not visit some of the more popular destinations because of the overabundance of drinking and adults acting up because of it.
