The Usedom beach on the German-Polish border has become the unlikely place for a fresh battle between the countries - a nudist war
On the one side white bottoms burn in the sun. On the other side conservative swimming trunk-wearers turn up their noses at the naked beachgoers.
Now a heated argument has broken out between the exhibitionist Germans and the prudish Poles.

A new invasion of Poland - Nude Panzers ?

That area of the beautiful Baltic coast, (Pomerania), was a great center for Freikorperkultur (FKK) nudism in the era between the two World Wars. Massive migrations of Polish people into areas that had been German for almost a thousand years created the current situation. The western Polish areas also appear to lack the traditional village communal saunas that are common elsewhere around the Baltic from Sweden to eastern Poland. That might have sdomething to do with the fact that they are mostly comparatively recent arrivals without those centuries of local tradition that produced the communal saunas.

Beachcomber, Germans being called exhibitionists by the prudish Poles and many other countries who have not experienced this lifestyle, but i think would really like to, ignorance and shame could be the root of their evil. Hopefully the signs work to educate and inform those its legal to go nude if you so choose and respect each others choice.
