Good for you sailawaybob, for going naked out with your trash. The more often people see naked bodies the less shocked or offended they will be the next time. In many places simply (like here) being naked is not illegal unless you know or intend to shock or offend someone else. Doing a simple household chore like taking out the garbage cannot hardly be construed as intentionally offending your neighbors. And, by the time any shocked neighbor might think about calling police, you've gone back inside, incident over. The chances of being reported to authorities are almost nil, and the chance of authorities coming to investigate after the naked person dumped his trash and went away are zero. Meanwhile it gives nosy neighbors an opportunity to see a naked body around the neighborhood without suffering any harm. The more often they see naked bodies, without being harmed, the more they come to accept occasional naked bodies as normal, or at least harmless.
Taking out the trash naked, walking around the block, getting the mail, and other "routine" activities done and seen naked promote general acceptance of casual nudity in the world. I hope they saw you being naked, for their education.

Bob i agree but most textiles won't and it's easy to go to jail for it, it's really sad that alot of people don't accept the human body as anything other than sexual it's pounded into their head from infants and it passes along through most generations especially in the states.

I agree about not getting arrested, Sailawaybob. That's the first "rule" of our household, "Don't get arrested." The law here prohibits nudity only where the naked person knows that he is likely to cause fear or affront to someone, the flasher language. It does not specifically prohibit casual nudity. But, of course, the usual blue shirt thug ignores the law when there is a complaint and an excuse to arrest you. Let the judge sort it out later. Just being arrested is enough harassment to enforce the non-law.
You are also right about having aversion to human bodies pounded into children from a very young age. I was taught that being seen naked is a fate worse than death. Despite having two sisters and a mother in my family, I had never seen a naked female until I was 18 years old and found some old nudist photo magazines. That kind of perverted anti-body fear is why I now advocate display of nudity to the public whenever it is safe from arrest.
An old axiom says, "That which is unseen soon become unseeable." When human bodies are never seen, they are unseeable. Parents have to instill fear of nudity into children so they don't go around naked. The other side is also true. That which is seen, soon becomes normal. People who have never seen a naked human being are "shocked" when they see a naked body. People who have occasionally seen someone naked, soon are "no big deal" about the next naked body. So it is important for people to occasionally see a naked human being.
Neither you nor I are willing to go naked where we might be arrested. In my state that means I am never to be naked where I know that I might cause an affront. I interpret that to mean that I can go about my regular daily business naked but not go out to the road to "flash" passing drivers. I may mow my lawn naked and be seen by anyone who comes onto my property. I can take the trash out to the road naked even if some neighbor across the road may see me sometimes. I'm just taking out the trash, not "flashing" neighbors. When I'm out hiking naked, and the trail comes near enough to a road to be seen across a field or between the trees, I give some textiles an opportunity to be exposed to naked humans without "flashing" or acting in a manner that I "know" would be an affront or cause fear.
And as for getting arrested, most cops are lazy. Their numbers have been diminished by budget cuts. A naked man doing some household chore like taking out the garbage naked, and then he went away, is not going to get a responding officer even if the neighbors get offended and report it -- which they are unlikely to do.
I agree with you, Sailawaybob, that going to jail is not something that we should risk. However, when we can provide textiles with exposure to naked human bodies with minimal or no risk of arrest I think we all ought to do so. That which is occasionally seen soon becomes normal. To make nudity acceptable, we have to get out and get seen when we can do it safely.

bob i see you live in the great northwest where they have a more open view, i live in the deep south where it's better than it was but has a long way to go, i keep reading where it's legal to be nude in oregon but really don't see anyone exercising their rights and of course there is san francisco where folks are walking down the street nude - of course they all seem to be men but thats a great start.

Bob: There are chaps you can buy for wearing when using a chainsaw. Leather isn't going to slow down a chainsaw chain if it hits your leg. These chaps are designed to clog up the chain. You can also buy the protection as a liner for a pair of jeans or overalls.
A chainsaw would make quick work of the biggest arteries in you body. It wouldn't take long to bleed out. I doubt an ambulance would have time to arrive, even if you were able to call one. I don't care how great it feels to be naked. It isn't worth being dead.
Just a thought.

Yes, that which is never seen, soon becomes unseeable. Where naked is occasionally seen, it rapidly becomes normal. That is all the more reason that people in the deep south need to see a human body once in a while.
Even in Washington and Oregon most people don't see naked bodies either. They do have "Naked Bike Rides" and such in the big cities, but sometimes the police harass even those licensed events. The more naked bodies people see, the more they accept it as common.

warmskin i think i'm pretty much tied i do stupid stuff regardless weather nude or clothed, if i could prove i was smarter nude than it could be a defense for me someday ...

When I first went nude bike riding in the desert. I rode my bike and had a backpack along with me. When I got to my destination, I took off my clothes and put them in the backpack and put the backpack in a tree and rode on the dirt path for a couple of hours, having so much riding over the bumpy ground and being in total and absolute freedom. Well after those couple of hours were over I went to go get my clothes to put back on but there was one problem, I didn't mark which tree I put my clothes in and all the trees were of the same kind and looked all the same, so basically for the next hour I had to look in almost every tree to find the backpack and its a good thing I found them or else I would have had to ride home naked past an elementary school. That would have been a quick anatomy lesson lol. I still bike ride and even run out there nude still but now I always mark where I put my clothes with rocks and sticks and there are surrounding houses out there so maybe people have seen me naked and if they have they must like what they see because I haven't received any complaints!

nudeman i gues instead of being a freehiker you are a freebiker, i have considered that a few times when hiking but decided it wasn't in my best interest and kept my shorts and pack with me. several years back when i was at apollo beach i decided to walk down the beach i'm usually pretty trusting leaving most of my stuff with the towel but my keys i didn't want to carry them so i put them in a ziplock bag and buried them under my beach towel, well when i returned the wind had blown my towel from where it was and yes after a few minutes of panic and digging i found my keys , it would have been a long walk.

My dumbest nude adventure happened 20 years ago while I was driving home from working the night shift. It was a 60 mile drive across the Arizona desert from the place where I worked to my home in the city. I decided to turn off of the main road and find a place to enjoy the warm sunshine and breeze on my bare skin. I followed a trail through the desert far enough to get out of sight of anyone on the road. Then I parked my car, got out, stripped naked and started walking about, basking in my freedom. It was soon time to continue my drive home after a very pleasant hour in the sun. I soon discovered that the car's tires were mired in the soft - - - and I could not drive away. For the next couple of hours I frantically attempted to dig sand away from the tires and put brush and limbs under the tires. Nothing worked. I finally gave up and started to walk to the nearest house for help. I put my clothes on before I got to the house and knocked on the door. It took four more hours to find help and return home.
I telephoned my wife to tell I would be very late getting home because I was waiting for a jeep to tow my car out of sand. I said the recent heavy rains had washed sand across the road and my car got stuck when I tried to cross the wash. That evening she asked me how I got sunburn on my butt. I told her that it was very hot while I was trying to dig the car out of the sand so I took my clothes off.

I don't know if it necessarily counts as stupid, but when I was still in high school and living at home, there was no a/c upstairs. As I had just started sleeping naked/freeballing, I thought why not be naked before bed. The trouble with no a/c in KS in the summer was that the windows were were open, and the light was on. I walked across my bed to get something, and heard a wolf-whistle. I'm from a small town, and there's only one set of neighbors, so I'm not sure if it was one of them, or who whistled at me, but I turned off the lights, and laid on the floor and grabbed the first thing I could find to put on. By the time I got the courage to look out the windows, I saw nobody.
