In my early twenties I won a talent show at a textile holiday camp called Butlins at Minehead. After a few celebration drinks I walked back to my apartment shedding clothes all the way - the inner Naturist was set free by the international destroyer of inhibition - Jack Daniels. A slow streak probably doesn't count as brave. Being on duty as a social worker makes it more foolhardy than brave. The brave bit, because I knew what I was doing, was jumping the rose bushes to see if I could get my underwear on the flagpole. I wonder how big a contribution Jack Daniels has made to spontaneous nudity.

Hi Diger,
I'll give it a try, as long as I don't have to swallow the worm!
In my early twenties a slow streak didn't seem to offend anyone. Now I'm forty eight the onlookers may need the stiff drink :-}

The first time I went nude in front of my mum she had just dried herself off from having a shower and there I was standing in front of her nude (nervous as anything)

Man ... I can't believe I haven't seen any of these posts from 3 years ago. Not sure what happened there.
Since my last post, we visited a favorite getaway spot on the Central Coast. We bought a metal cut out sign that reads, "Wine Makes My Clothes Fall Off" , it's on our patio for everyone to see. Some have commented on it and one of our daughter's close friends said, "from what I hear, clothes falling off around here happens whether or not wine is involved! :D" I just said ... "yes, that's true! ;)" She said ... "I gotta come around and visit more often!" :D
One other thing that has happened that wasn't done on purpose was leaving some nude pics of The Prof and I out when the housecleaning lady came. I have naked pics of the Prof and of us all over the house, in the office, our bedroom, family room kitchen and most times, when family come over, they are just left out. The grandkids will even ask where they are if they are put away ... usually when the cleaning lady is coming.
One time, that's now turned into a few times, we've been in a hurry to get out of the house when they come to clean, I've forgotten to put them away and they've remained out. Certain they've all seen them. Just wish I could be a fly on the wall to hear what they have to say. She's a JW and I'm sure she figures we're going to hell! hahahahaha Not sure if that's brave but on the same note, the Prof used to put all our AANR Bulletins and TNS "N" magazines away when people would come over ... not any more.

After washing our Goldwing one day, I had this feeling of, what the hell... Go for it and as I pulled out of the garage and took it for a ride out around the country area we live in. About 4 miles I guess. Passed one farm house and the guy outside gave me a wave. Dont know if he realized I was nude at first but sure he did once I passed.

Probably just driving to and from the beach. Came across a car crash one day with lots os other cars and people giving assistance, I pulled up but got waved through.
Otherwise probably gardening in the back yard that opens into adjacent paddocks where neighbours have cattle and one mows and maintains while getting ready to subdivide. I wave from a distance but am part clothed if they get close.

Reminded of another incident; We were on our way back from a several day visit with our close friends at their AZ winter home. We took the "short cut" road. It's less traveled, much less civilization ... in fact, none for well over 100 miles. We'd already taken a couple of dirt roads off the hwy and did a little 4x4'ing naked before the rain began.
We'd passed 4 couples on Harleys on a road trip. They were stopped and looked to be having a drink and snack. I drove about 20 mins further down the hwy and needed to water a desert bush. The sun was setting and because of the rain clouds finally breaking up, it was a very pretty sunset. I did my business at a chosen bush and grabbed my cell phone to begin taking pics of the sunset.
I was standing on the opposite side of the road snapping a couple pics when I heard the Harleys coming down the road. They were upon me quickly. I guess I could have made a run for the Jeep but said to myself ... "what the hell." I stood there took a couple more pics and they began to pass. They waved, smiled and gave me a thumbs up. I waved and smiled back and off they road. I guess what was "brave" about that was that I just stood my ground and felt as I wasn't doing anything wrong. I didn't go running for cover or the car. Turned out to be just fine and the reaction I got from the bikers is what we'd all expect or hope for from others.

I'm a shy introvert. So my list of nude "braveries" is quite short. Even when I went hiking nude in public spaces I always took precautions and hiked nude when I was pretty darn sure no one would be able to see me. Had I had an encounter I probably would have pulled a ninja move and disappeared into the foliage.
Ironically, the women in my life, who never really called themselves nudists, were more brazen than me. My ex "came out" to her Mom in a rather direct manner. She was at home relaxing nude; and her Mom showed up unannounced. She knew a bit about our recreational nudism; but had no idea of the true extent of our nudist ways. Anyway, my ex at the time really didn't feel like wearing clothes, and when her Mom knocked and announced herself, she just walked straight to the door and let her in nude, and then went right back to her lounging! Her Mom, after the initial shock, actually took it pretty well and even helped her nude daughter prepare dinner a little while later.
On a few other occasions my ex opted for a minimalist approach while heading out or returning to the resort. She would just get in her mode of not feeling like wearing anything; so she'd hop in the car wearing just a sarong and riding nude most of the way on nudist trips. One time she even fell asleep in the car; and when we got home woke up and just walked nude to the house!
My current GF also is more brazen than I am. She is unconcerned by people "catching her" nude. We live in the city, with big open windows and close neighbors. And she just refuses to care about being seen when she walks nude around the loft. We went for a walk once on a public beach; she was wearing a small dress and just decided to toss it off and run nude on the beach. A couple of passers-by saw her and just kept walking, minding their own business much to my surprise!
Even she finds it amusing that she is less concerned about being seen nude than me, the nudist!
I prefer being nude among nudists; but I'm pushing myself to be - safely - a bit more "brazen."

"Brazen" usually carries the connotation of being bold and shameless, but I find that for many nudists it is often more a matter of just not getting around to deciding what to wear until activities like welding or snow-boarding compel a decision. People, including mothers and neighbors, tend to sense right away if a glimpse of home nudity is natural or "brazen" and react accordingly.

Picking up on the housekeeper theme, just today I was doing some pre-office telecommuting from the back porch to meet a deadline, so when the housekeeper showed up early, I opened the front door a sliver, poked my head around, explained I'd been busy with work, and asked if she could wait a minute because I wasn't dressed yet. She just came on in, saying she'd known us for years and already seen holiday photos, so I should continue with work and she would start upstairs so that the dressing area was ready when I was. I'm not sure if it counts as "brave" on my part or "brazen" on hers, but I made my deadline and the logistics of house-cleaning day just became a whole lot less complicated. My wife, overhearing from the kitchen, just tagged the incident as "very cute!"

Our house cleaning lady has caught my backside for sure and possibly side and partial front view, each on two occasions. When I was working and working several days straight, I'd come home and not remember what day it was and when she was or was not coming. It was on the calendar but after arriving home and just wanting be naked and relax, I never really looked at the calendar.
I was doing a few things and next thing I know, she's unlocked the front door and started to come in. I was in the backyard at our previous house. I heard her call out my name and then I remembered and realized ... I have no clothes anywhere downstairs. I called to her and said, "I'm not dressed so could you wait a minute?" She said, "okay!" It took me a minute to stop what I was doing outside, I came in and began to walk up the stairs and she walked in. I didn't stop but kept walking. She for sure got a full back view of me going up the stairs that time.
In our current home, I was in the office and was busy typing on the computer. At that time, I used to keep the window blinds closed and wasn't paying attention to any movement on the porch. Next thing I knew, she was unlocking the door and coming in the house. I stopped typing and began to walk quickly toward our bedroom, but stopped and turned to grab a naturist magazine, that's when she got the side view and full back view again. I just said ... "sorry, forgot you were coming!"
She's pretty religious. At times she'd leave us pamphlets. She's a JW. Forgetting the pictures of us nude out in the office and family room and bedroom, my closet ... we were certain she'd tell us that she couldn't clean our home anymore. Surprisingly, she's continued to stay with us and always gives us a hug and tells us we are her favorite family to work for. We pay her well, we tip her well and I think she figures ... "hey, I'm not going to question them being nudists, they pay me too good!"
Since that second time being caught, there are now clothes in the office at the current home, always, and I always keep the blinds open during the day. I want to know who's coming to the front door at all times.
