Usually last May to early June before it's warm enough to not turn blue. LOL
We have been there in June before when water was still cold.

Where are you staying? Are you staying down by Haulover? South in Miami? North in Fort Lauderdale?

Willy,
We are staying 3 miles south of the nude section, I believe it's called Surfside.

Okay. I'll see what I can remember. I lived north of there, in Hollywood, and didn't go down that way too much, other than for work.
As for places to eat, one restaurant in particular, that is a little north of Haulover is called The Knife. It's an Argentinian steak house, all you can eat. For one price (probably around $30 or so, was $26 when I lived there) you get your meal and either two glasses of beer or one bottle of wine. It's located at 602 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd., Hallandale Beach. A little bit further north than that, in Hollywood, there is a great place for burgers called Le Tub, which is right on the intracoastal waterway. Nice casual atmosphere, and they claim to have the best burgers around (they are good). That's at 100 N Ocean Dr, Hollywood. There are tons of great places to eat all over that area actually.
As for places to see, I never went here, but I wanted to so badly. It's called Coral Castle, located at 28655 S. Dixie Highway, Homestead. I first saw it in a movie called "Nude on the Moon", this was the setting for the moon scenes. A very very interesting story on how it came to be that is definitely worth reading about (you can search it on Wikipedia or just google it). Then there are the Everglades that offer boating excursions, as well as live gator shows.
For shopping, Aventura has a really big mall there, and there is also Bayside, which is a huge shopping/restaurant complex near downtown Miami.

Thanks Willy,
We are wanting to make a day trip to Key West and try The Garden of Eden while we're there.
That burger place sounds really good.

I only went to Key West once, but didn't know about that Garden of Eden at the time. I remember seeing it, but didn't find out about it being a nudist place until after I left.
Le Tub is a great place. You can get a seat right along the water and you may see some manatees just casually swimming by.
